Sweetspot is a licensed, full-service medical cannabis dispensary located in Olney, MD. We are seeking honest, hardworking and passionate candidates to join our team and grow with us! We are looking for individuals who will work with the utmost level of professionalism and customer service, while providing our patients with a compassionate customer experience.

The Patient Counselor is responsible for verifying patients and caregivers in the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission electronic verification system, receiving and placing patient orders, receiving payments from patients and caregivers, and operating and inputting into the point-of-sale system. Maintaining accurate records of transactions, patient data, including identification and registration documents. Responds to patient and caregiver inquiries and provides accurate information regarding Sweetspot’s cannabis products.
*CORE JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and process patient orders.
- Receive payments from patients and caregivers.
- Operate and input sales into the point-of-sale system.
- Maintain accurate records of transactions, patient data, including identification and registration documents.
- Verify patients and caregivers in the electronic verification system and Metrc (state mandated seed-to-sale tracking system).
- Respond to patient and caregiver inquiries and provide accurate information regarding cannabis products.
- Ensure cannabis products received meet all specifications of identity, strength, quality and purity, and meets all rules set forth by the Commission.
- Adhere to all procedures, which may impact the identity, strength, quality and purity of cannabis products or protecting any containers or packaging from contamination.
- Follow and adhere to full compliance with the dispensing operations policies and procedures.
- Perform sale transactions.
- Follow system of internal controls for cash handling and accounting functions.
- Follow cash security measures.
- Maintain a neat and organized retail floor as set forth by the Dispensary Manager.
- Report any verifiable incident of a dispensing error, diversion, theft, loss, or unauthorized destruction of cannabis product immediately to a manager.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Sales experience and customer service experience preferred
- Must be 21 or older
- Be able to be on your feet for extended periods of time and lift/move up to 50lbs if necessary
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
- No felony convictions.
- No conviction that may be deemed by the state as an absence of good moral character.

The Patient Counselor will work to ensure excellent patient service, provide effective patient consultations, and ensure the distribution of only quality products to patients. The Patient Counselor assesses the individual needs of patients, provides superior product knowledge, and conducts sales transactions efficiently and accurately.

- Assess individual patient needs by asking patients questions regarding their medical conditions and symptoms, carefully listening to patient responses, and further clarifying as needed to determine what type of alternative care might support their conditions

- Always communicate with sensitivity and respect for patients, staff, and visitors

Sweetspot is a licensed, full-service medical cannabis dispensary located in Olney, MD. We are seeking honest, hardworking and passionate candidates to join our team and grow with us! The Patient Counselor is responsible for verifying patients and caregivers in the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission electronic verification system, receiving and placing patient orders, receiving payments from patients and caregivers, and operating and inputting into the point-of-sale system. Maintaining accurate records of transactions, patient data, including identification and registration documents. Responds to patient and caregiver inquiries and provides accurate information regarding Sweetspot’s cannabis products.*CORE JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and process patient orders.
- Receive payments from patients and caregivers.
- Operate and input sales into the point-of-sale system.
- Maintain accurate records of transactions, patient data, including identification and registration documents.
- Verify patients and caregivers in the electronic verification system and Metrc (state mandated seed-to-sale tracking system).
- Respond to patient and caregiver inquiries and provide accurate information regarding cannabis products.
- Ensure cannabis products received meet all specifications of identity, strength, quality and purity, and meets all rules set forth by the Commission.
- Adhere to all procedures, which may impact the identity, strength, quality and purity of cannabis products or protecting any containers or packaging from contamination.
- Follow and adhere to full compliance with the dispensing operations policies and procedures.
- Perform sale transactions.
- Follow system of internal controls for cash handling and accounting functions.
- Follow cash security measures.
- Maintain a neat and organized retail floor as set forth by the Dispensary Manager.
- Report any verifiable incident of a dispensing error, diversion, theft, loss, or unauthorized destruction of cannabis product immediately to a manager.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Sales experience and customer service experience preferred
- Must be 21 or older
- Be able to be on your feet for extended periods of time and lift/move up to 50lbs if necessary
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
- No felony convictions.
- No conviction that may be deemed by the state as an absence of good moral character.
