Position: Product Specialist (PS)
Product Specialists play a central role in creating a positive experience for all of Kinfolk Dispensary’s members. The primary role of the PS is to teach members about cannabis: various ways cannabis is grown, how concentrates are made, primary cannabinoids, the endocannabinoid system, methods of ingestion, classifications, possible contraindications, and much more. Essentially, the PS should be able to guide members toward picking products that will best alleviate their symptoms. Additionally, the PS should BE well versed in state versus federal laws.
Unique Requirements
The Product Specialist must be able to do the following:
- Eloquently articulate, teach, and instruct
- Confidently interact with customers of varying age, economic status, racial, ethnic, and religious background, sexual preference, and gender identification
- Stand for up to 8.5 hours at a time
- Learn quickly and perform spontaneously
- Adjust quickly to procedures that are in constant development
- Pay attention to intricate details while multi-tasking
- Practice patience in high stress situations
Additional Requirements Include:
- Must be over the age of 21 (legal requirement)

- Assist in the training of new and current staff members as delegated
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Attend staff meetings and continuing education courses
- Participate in outreach programs developed by Keystone Canna Remedies and industry partners as appropriate to help educate patients, caregivers, health care practitioners, community members, and interest groups on the current evidence and guidelines safe and effective utilization of medical marijuana
- Practice all activities associated with education, dispensing and research of medical marijuana to the highest possible standards, and in accordance with rules and regulations established by the Pennsylvania Department of Health
- Continue to enhance knowledge of medical marijuana, recommended treatment procedures and product
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Candidates will be at least 21 years of age. High School diploma/GED required; post-secondary degree most desirable.
Experience:
Prior experience working in a retail setting (especially in marijuana sales) desired.
Degrees, Licensure and/or Certification:
Post-secondary or collegiate degree favorable;
Pass background check, including check with FBI;
Candidate has never been found guilty of felony offense or concerning misdemeanor offense (i.e. theft, diversion of drugs).
Knowledge, Skills, Traits and Abilities:
