Summary/Objective
A manufacturing technician is your foot in the door to the exciting world of cannabis product production. As a Manufacturing Technician you will be expected to monitor and execute Manufacturing/Processing tasks, as well as packaging and labelling duties. You will be responsible for maintaining workflow, space utilization and product quality based on knowledge of product design, materials, parts, capabilities, and quality assurance standards.
A goal of the job is to increase productivity and cost-effectiveness, working with management to report ways to increase overall efficiency, safety, and quality.
Responsibilities will also include reporting to your supervisor on daily progress, overseeing and actively supporting the day-to-day manufacturing operations.
The Light Manufacturing processes include, but they are not limited to:
- Assisting in the manufacturing of Infused Products, Direct Use Extracts, Topicals, Sublinguals, etc.
- Filling and weighing of products.
- Preparing biomass for processing, assisting with extraction, and post-processing cleaning of equipment.
- Packaging and Labelling Duties.
- Maintaining a clean facility to the standards of medical cannabis production.
- Keeping and filling out accurate batch production records, entering information into Seed to Sale Tracking programs, and documenting maintenance and cleaning on the appropriate logs.
- Maintain a strong familiarity with the rules and regulations of the Ohio Medical Cannabis Program
Manufacturing technicians will be required to fill-in on other job roles outside of their direct responsibilities when the need arises such as going along on deliveries, helping with Patient Education Days, and assisting the distribution team with picking inventory for orders or checking orders for accuracy.
The Manufacturing Technician is a direct report to the Extraction Lead and any applicable shift supervisors.
You will have to demonstrate an ability to learn quickly about a wide range of cannabis related information, including processes, chemistry, regulatory standards, testing, Lighthouse Sciences Products, and Cannabis Science.

Exhibits thorough knowledge of Lighthouse Sciences product mix and their corresponding line setups and Manufacturing SOPs.
Ensures that all work activities are performed with attention to the highest standards for quality, safety and compliance with all appropriate legal and food safety requirements and a focus on continuous improvement.
Ensure all required date records and logs are filled out accurately and legibly. This includes Batch records, pre/post task checklists, room and equipment logs, waste disposal logs, and any Seed to Sale Data Entries.
Ensures proper communication during changeovers between shifts.
Follow and enforce all company SOPs and Operational Guidelines.
Maintains a high level of safety awareness for an accident-free work place. Report any unsafe or hazardous work conditions or safety-related issues to Management.
Bring a ready to learn attitude through the door every day.
Willingness to fill in on other tasks as needed, such as deliveries and distribution tasks like stock pulling and order checking. We’re still a small team, “wearing multiple hats” is a requirement.
