Patient Care Advocates are responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role ensures that customer needs are heard and met; and, that all sales are compliant with state regulations. This position is also responsible for ensuring transactions are accurately recorded in point-of-sale and inventory tracking systems. Most importantly, this role embodies the company’s service, culture, and brand image to our customers.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
As a Bloc PCA you'll ensure the consistent delivery of an exceptional customer experience for our patients and assist customers in product selection based on defined treatment plans and product availability. You'll fulfill customer requests and look for opportunities to introduce new and alternative products. You'll ensure patients are accurately tracked in the patient system, educate customers on product attributes and usage; and, perform sales transactions in compliance with all regulations governing the sale of cannabis products in the State of Missouri. You'll also answer phones, respond to voicemail, and take orders. Another key responsibility of this role is to maintain knowledge of new and existing products via vendor training, documentation, and cross-training with management, pharmacists, and senior patient care advocates.
What you bring to the role:
Your experience includes two or more years of experience working in a fast paced and high-volume retail or pharmacy environment with cash handling responsibility. You're also passionate about delivering exceptional customer experience.
You must be at least 21 and possess a valid driver’s license or state ID and be able to pass all required background checks, certifications, and affiliation requirements.
Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience working in a retail or hospitality environment with cash handling responsibility
- Demonstrated passion for delivering an exceptional customer experience
- Fast-paced, high volume retail sales experience preferred
- Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license or state ID

- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, on-boarding, training, and managing dispensary staff for all assigned locations
- Oversees dispensary work schedules to ensure adequate staffing to meet customer volume and demand
- Ensures on-going team training and development for assigned team members
- Conducts regular meetings with assigned employees to assess KPI, goal, and task performance, and identify developmental opportunities
- Collaborates with Retail Trainer and Supply Chain Manager to ensure on-going staff training on products, product usage methods, properties of cannabis, cannabinoids, and terpenes
- Utilizes reward and recognition programs to recognize exceptional employee performance
- Addresses HR matters and employee relations issues swiftly and strategically with the HR Team
- Promotes effective communication amongst all assigned teams and ensures national leadership is briefed on key employee issues impacting operations.
- Regularly monitors P&L and strategizes on the achievement of outlined KPI’s including but not limited to sales, customer service, inventory levels, payroll cost, profitability, and EBITA.
- Implements operational procedures in compliance with applicable state regulations; and ensures legislative and procedural changes relating to the sales and distribution of cannabis are clearly communicated and trained to dispensary staff
- Collaborates with Finance and Accounting to manage vendor payments including submission and approval of invoices and prioritizing invoices for payment
- Manages till for each POS location, coordinates with Accounting on cash requirements for store operations
- Responsible for accurate and efficient inventory tracking
- Ensures adherence to inventory related SOPs in order to promote reporting consistency, mitigate loss, and remain compliant with applicable regulations
- Oversees Supply Chain Manager to ensure adequate stock levels, proper product assortment, and consistent replenishment
- Ensures cash in store is regularly counted, cross-checked, and balanced
- Collaborates with accounting and finance to ensure adequate cash and change is on-hand to facilitate sales and transactions
- Holds team accountable for consistent and accurate cash handling practices
- Collaborates with Compliance to meet state reporting requirements (sales, inventory and quarterly reports)
- Maintains up to date knowledge on state regulations and ensures all team members are properly trained on changes or additions to policy
- Collaborates with the State Security Manager to define policies, practices, and procedures
