Overview:
The Director of Cultivation is a dynamic role, responsible for managing all operations of cultivation from propagation through harvest in a commercial cannabis facility with over 25,000 sq ft of flowering canopy. This is a complex position that requires a deep understanding of crop management across varied growing media, environmental control systems, cannabis morphology, fertigation systems, and irrigation strategy.
Reports directly to the VP of Cultivation

Direct cultivation operations across two cultivation buildings with a combination of the following:
HPS and LED lighting
Coco coir and Living Soil growing media
Boiler/Chiller and RTU HVAC systems
Netaflex and Dosatron fertigation systems
Oversee cultivation, nursery, sanitation, and processing managers to ensure all departments are working cohesively to achieve deadlines and adhere to the production schedule
Track all cultivation and post-harvest KPI’s, analysing environmental and substrate monitors to make data driven decisions
Responsibilities include:
Strong leadership of cultivation and harvest teams; developing managers technical and soft skills, motivating technicians, and instilling accountability
Collaborate with VP to continue development of genetic library, implementing new cultivars, and calibrate the cultivation production schedule to meet sales objectives
Use an array of software to collect data, monitor KPI’s, and set data-driven performance goals for cultivation/harvest managers and teams
Partner with department managers to forecast workflow and labor demand, maintaining appropriate number of staff to guarantee deadlines are met
Troubleshoot all plant health issues, mitigate pest/pathogen pressure through rigid IPM practices, maintaining economic thresholds while upholding quality standards
Continuous research and development of best cultivation processes and operational efficiencies, improve existing SOP’s and generate new ones to maintain streamlined production
Constant refinement of best cultivation and post-harvest practices specific to individual cultivars
Maintain an extremely high standard of quality in cultivation/processing practices and post-harvest final products, emphasizing cleanliness and excessive attention to detail
Work alongside the Facility Director and maintenance department to ensure infrastructure repairs and build out projects are completed in a timely manner and in-line with cultivations vision
Enforce all cultivation regulatory standards in compliance with the Bureau of Cannabis Control, California Department of Food and Agriculture, Department of Pesticide Regulation, and OSHA
Ensure all areas of cultivation production are using low impact practices to the best of our ability to reduce waste, innovate and improve processes to reduce our carbon footprint
Any other tasks assigned by the VP of Cultivation
Who you are:
An effective leader with a healthy balance of firm accountability and empathy, you can make the hard decisions objectively and nurture a sense of ownership with employees at all levels
Detail oriented is an understatement, but you don't let the particulars detract from the bigger picture
Ability to analyze processes and information, identify problems and trends, and develop effective solutions and strategies
2-5 years of experience directly managing all aspects of cannabis cultivation in a licensed commercial facility with over 10,000 sq ft of flowering canopy
5-10 years of cannabis cultivation growing a wide variety of cultivars, knowledge of how they grow and what techniques to apply specific to an individual cultivars needs
Well versed in commercial cultivation infrastructure, environmental controls and equipment, fertigation and irrigation systems
Proven success cultivating truly high quality cannabis at scale while maintaining economically viable COGS and revenue generation
Adept in project management and workflow software, Excel spreadsheets, developing and tracking KPI’s, inventory management, labor forecasting, and efficient task delegation
Bachelor's degree in plant science, business, or management, or 4+ years equivalent experience as a Cultivation Manager in a commercial cannabis facility

The General Manager (GM) is responsible for leading Cookie’s mission, vision, and values in order to develop a high-performing team that consistently delivers top-line sales growth and profit. The GM heads a team of CO-managers and Leads and is accountable for all aspects of managing a single retail store.
This leader drives his/her business through a division of responsibility focus, or “DOR”. This position requires a passion for process excellence, a drive for results, and the ability to influence. The GM is directly responsible for the financial success of the store and has full P&L responsibility.
Core Responsibilities

People
- Partner with CO-Managers and recruiting team to set hiring standards for all store team members.
- Oversee management and associate onboarding programs, training modules, ongoing leadership development.
- Recruit, onboard and develops talent to build a team that embodies the Cookies brand to deliver a world class experience and increase customer loyalty.
- Place the right people in the right roles, specifically the management DOR program.
- Execute training modules, quizzes, video content and tracking.
- Continuously measure and follow up with all managers and employees on Cookies customer experience and customer first culture by using appropriate tools such as online reviews, customer satisfaction surveys and key KPI’s.
- Partner with CO-Managers on succession planning programs to build bench strength.
- Create an environment that inspires and encourages the growth and engagement of associates.
- Model a culture of open communication by sharing enterprise strategy and corporate messaging to associates.
- Promote a culture of teamwork by working alongside the management team and associates, establishing priorities, and providing clear direction.
Performance
- Respond quickly and decisively to business needs and performance trends in order to drive profitable top line sales growth.
- Forecast and adjust payroll to maximize productivity to achieve sales and payroll goals, while completing all necessary workload and tasks.
- Work closely with GM and other CO-Managers to set clear sales volume and KPI goals, as well as review and analyze KPI’s and apply knowledge/learnings to drive sales volume.
- Review and interpret financial and operational reporting regularly, including store visit and audit results.
- Identify underperforming metrics and develop strategies that leverage company programs, tools, and resources to improve and grow the business.
- Link product, merchandising and presentation to overall business metrics.
- Lead store team to implement all aspects of Visual Presentation including basic store standards, floor sets, ongoing merchandising and product launches.
- Understand merchandise flow standards, backroom organization and how it effects floor set execution, replenishment and recovery and the overall in-store brand experience.
- Partner with Marketing and PR on community outreach, press and in-store events.
Operations
- Inventory management.
- Shrink and loss prevention controls.
- Oversee and execute all initiatives as outlined on the master calendar.
- Deliver results and strategic direction by ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly through the store team.
- Work with cross-divisional teams to build consensus on strategic objectives, goals and operational plans.
- Establish and implement operational policies, standards and procedures for retail staff.
- Ensures compliance with all SOP’s, safety and security policies within retail stores.
- Communicates, works closely and successfully collaborates with GM, CO-Managers and Leads to achieve the organization’s goals.
- Use the company's scheduling tool as directed to schedule the right associates, in the right places, at the right times in order to provide world class customer experience and execute company directives.
The General Manager may perform other related duties as required by the Company, field leadership, and especially with regard to serving the customer.
Qualifications:
Required:
- 21 years of age or older

- Minimum of (5) five years of high volume/flagship management in cannabis, specialty retail or a comparable retail environment.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional store environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to work a flex schedule (which includes nights, weekend and holiday availability)
- Ability to bend, lift, open and move product and fixtures up to 50 lbs., as needed
- Ability to climb step stools and ladders
- Ability to stand/walk for long periods at a time
- Possess manual dexterity and hand - eye coordination
- Ability to travel to other store locations (if needed) and attend district meetings
