Job Summary
The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing a team of employees for Potency’s cannabis retail dispensary.The Store Manager will serve as a staff mentor, supervisor, advocate, and Potency brand ambassador.

Job Duties / Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs), best practices, and policies to advance Potency’s mission, vision, goals, and objectives at the store level
* Hire, develop, and train dispensary employees. Lead the development of employee training materials, including education and development of staff regarding medical cannabis strains, products, and consumption mechanisms
* Assist in the launch and opening, as well as maintain the ongoing operations of the dispensary
* Manage financial records and cash handling procedures
* Oversee store opening and closing activities
* Collaborate with other functional leaders in developing and implementing a best-in-class customer experience
* Deliver optimal productivity in stores through operational excellence, process improvement, and consistent resolution of challenges
* Conduct performance reviews of dispensary employees on a regular basis
* Interface with wholesalers and grow/processors to negotiate and source quality product supply
* Coordinate and staff dispensary schedule
* Manage all aspects of dispensary with a customer-first mentality and an intense focus on company culture and ethics, customer service, sales growth, and brand standards
* Provide input regarding marketing strategy and initiatives in collaboration with current managers and new marketing team that is coming on board
* Work collaboratively with compliance, security, and transportation managers regarding compliance, loss prevention, security, and logistics on all mutual issues and in prioritization of needs
* Serve as a liaison to the local community and area health providers
* Coordinate patient outreach and educational programming (with input from grow/processors and marketing team)
* Interface with IT managers to develop and continually assess technology implementation and adjust based on business needs
- Ensure compliance on all policies, standards, and values
* Maintain in-depth knowledge of every product and strain in the store, as well as industry-wide product knowledge
* Stay abreast of customer and business trends and actively communicate with corporate stakeholders to provide input on retail and strategic business initiatives
* Ensure that physical environment is safe, sanitary, and that all equipment/technology is in good working order
* Lead initiatives, store strategies, and specific projects at the store level that may be assigned by executive-level management

Qualifications
Education:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required

Assist the store General Manager in the daily operations of the store. The Inventory Specialist is responsible for re-stocking, putting out new batches and splitting product to ensure correct compliance between our med and rec licenses. . -The Cultivation Associate assists with day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the grow facility. They will provide quality care and attention to the growing process of the plants from clone to harvest which includes; trimming, cloning, transplanting, watering, and providing nutrients along with caring for vegetative and flowering plants. Detailed record keeping and strict adherence to the company’s operation procedures and compliance with state and federal regulations are essential for this position. Must have the ability to multi-task.
Availability
-Monday-Friday, Full shift 8am-5pm. Some weekend and/or holiday time may be required on occasion

-Starting $17.00 hourly
Key Responsibilities
-Oversee flower rooms and maintain plant health through daily check-ins, evaluate plant health, adjust the room environment or grow process with direction from the Director of Cultivation
-Communicate with support teams and management continuously regarding plant health, pest outbreaks, and equipment issues
-Follow all Standard Operations Procedures for trimming, drying, and curing cannabis harvests in preparation for flower sales
-Support grow team members throughout the grow as needed
-Timely completion of work per schedule and strive to increase productivity through coordinated workflow and process improvement recommendations
-Maintain clean grow rooms and workspaces at all times by regularly sanitizing tools, equipment, and grow rooms
-Use PPE as required: gloves, scrubs, tinted eye protection
-Perform all other duties as necessary and any additional duties assigned by the Director of Cultivation

Label Printing and Design Associate
Core Duties:
Perform day-to-day operations involving the printing of labels and the coordination with the packaging departments, to bring beautiful, compliantly labelled manufactured products to market. Occasionally, daily responsibilities will vary outside of standard job duties. The Label Printing associate has the responsibility of printing the labels required to keep the packaging teams supplied and working. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead staff on specific land use permitting requirements, such as Cannabis, wireless, and solar land uses, among others.
- Develops and maintains applicable codes, rules and regulations.
- Maintenance of city/department’s land use planning webpages on city website.
- Responds to requests for public records in accordance with Massachusetts Public Record Laws in coordination with the City Clerk, City Planner, and Director of the Department of Community Development.
- Provides support to the City Planner’s staffing of the Community Development Board.
- Acts as the first point of contact for local permitting procedures and requirements and assist the public and permit applicants in understanding these requirements. The Coordinator will work with local boards, departments and offices that possess the authority to issue permits in order to facilitate and coordinate application procedures and to identify and implement streamlining measures that can assist in ensuring the majority of local permits are issued within 180-days of receipt of the completed application.
- Produces decision documents, schedule public hearings, draft agendas, provide a written analysis of each application’s compliance with the Zoning Ordinance, record minutes and otherwise maintain records of public hearings and matters before the Zoning Board of Appeal.
- Facilitates and coordinates permitting processes with applicable staff, boards and commissions including but not limited to Conversation Commission, Engineering and Building Department.
- Develops and maintains a checklist for determining applicable permits, schedules and requirements with work flows and timelines.
- Works with local authorities to revise applications & procedures and to revise local ordinances, codes and other requirements as needed. Also works with regional and state issuing authorities as appropriate to foster coordination between local and state permitting and where feasible to streamline state permit and approval procedures.
- Designing and directing the Department’s community engagement with residents, agencies and programs working in the City, particularly with under resourced individuals and underserved populations.
- Contract preparation, supervision, and monitoring including appropriate procurement, development and oversight.
- Financial management, from budget preparation to closeout.
- Program research and development for the purpose of identifying new program opportunities and ensuring city programs meet needs and reflect best management practices.
- Participation in the preparation and evaluation of the City’s Community Development Consolidated Plan, CDBG Annual Action Plan, and CDBG Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report.
- Develop and maintain mapping of various information in support of land use planning, community development and other programs and projects.
- Performs other similar or related duties as needed or required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in community development, planning, or public policy and administration with direct involvement in the administration of community and/or economic development projects.
- A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated program or project administration experience.
- Knowledge of practices and procedures in administration of publicly funded projects.
- Exemplary interpersonal skills; ability to communicate well orally and in writing.
- Proficient skill in the use of computers and technology, including software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.

This is an office-based job in a dynamic municipal building. While performing the duties of the Community Development Specialist, the incumbent is required to: interact and communicate frequently with the public, government officials, other staff members and boards, and/or third parties transacting business with the City.

Full Job Description
Berkshire Roots is looking for an experienced Facilities Director to be responsible for the management of 3 buildings in Pittsfield, MA and one in East Boston, MA. The role oversees functional capabilities of the core business with particular focus on specialty equipment for cannabis cultivation, extraction, infused product manufacturing and packaging, general and preventative maintenance of building systems such as HVAC, general security including alarm systems and cameras, safety and integrity of building systems, facilities upkeep including paving projects, snow and trash removal and general building appearance, budget projections, supplemental storage systems and transitioning properties from development/construction to operating phase. The company has plans to add facilities in the near future in Pittsfield and a town to be determined for an eventual total of 5 properties.
The Facilities Director will supervise a team of two facilities managers, one of whom is the company safety officer and a head of security. Those direct reports will supervise facilities associates, cleaning teams (company staff and outsourced) and security staff.
Responsibilities
- In collaboration with department heads and appropriate direct reports, become intimately familiar with the design, operation, maintenance requirements and plans to install, maintain and repair cannabis related equipment: HVAC, fertigation systems/plumbing, electrical and controls, gas, ventilation/air exchange and filtration, grow room lighting, grow room extraction equipment, kitchen equipment and as well as manage their
- Become intimately familiar with the operation and maintenance requirements for all systems within each property, i.e. HVAC, electrical, gas, plumbing, security and general infrastructure.
- Conduct site inspections to assess the physical condition of buildings and building systems.
- Ensure completion of maintenance work in accordance with established industry standards and in compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
- Scope facilities projects, select vendors and secure bids on approved, operating and capital budget items that pertain to building equipment/systems, maintenance, engineering and tenant services.
- Implement and maintain preventative maintenance program to maximize the value of company assets.
- Participate in the acquisition/disposition/due diligence process of properties located in the region and in target markets.

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing the receipt and transfer of cannabis product in and out of their assigned vault, whether through internal or external transfers. Core Duties:
Perform day-to-day operations involving the printing of labels and the coordination with the packaging departments, to bring beautiful, compliantly labelled manufactured products to market. Cannabis Infused/Edibles Kitchen Associate needed to join our production team. Position Overview
We are looking for a Manager of Facilities and Equipment to manage our cannabis production and retail building systems. With this role, we are adding to our facilities team, putting in place a new role that will focus on one of several facilities reporting to the experienced Facilities Director who oversees several of our buildings. We are looking for the right individual that will support the company’s growth.
The Manager of Facilities and Equipment must maintain our facility and cannabis operations central equipment in proper working order. This includes working with our grow team, packaging team, retail team and cleaning team to strengthen our existing preventative maintenance plan and coordinating across our in-house staff and outside vendors to minimize downtime. This role must manage non-scheduled downtime, troubleshooting and problem-solving equipment breakdowns with our team. This role must participate in installation and/or on-going maintenance of all HVAC, electrical, plumbing, CO2 storage, water systems and exterior components – such as gates, driveways and lighting - of the facility. The Manager will have a working understanding of all related IT, security, and other low-voltage systems, and will work with outside vendors directly.
This role will be tasked and challenged with the goal of continually improving and strengthening the physical condition of our operations, and the depth and expertise of our facilities team.

This position will be assigned to the Marijuana Licensing program and will be responsible for processing and investigating marijuana license applications as well as compliance activities related to licensing.
Who are we?
The OLCC is the agency responsible for regulating the sale and service of alcoholic beverages, the production and sale of recreational marijuana, the tracking of Oregon Health Authority medical marijuana, and the tracking of industrial hemp products sold in OLCC retail stores. The agency is comprised of three major operational programs; the Distilled Spirits Program, the Marijuana Program, and the Public Safety Program. All three programs are supported by the Administration, Financial Services, and Support Services divisions. Revenue generated from these programs helps support state and local government programs.
What will you do?
- Independently, or as a member of a team, conduct site surveys and investigations of Oregon marijuana applicants and licensed businesses to assure compliance with state laws and rules that govern marijuana businesses.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret licensee’s business records and other records or technical reports (police and court reports, real estate documents, certifications from other agencies).
- Use a radio frequency scanner to collect and record licensed premises marijuana inventory as needed. Compare scanned inventory data with recorded inventory in cannabis tracking system application to detect and assess shortages/overages in product quantities. Analyze and reconcile financial and tax data from the application and reports. Review discrepancies with licensee to determine whether an investigation is in order.
- Document site survey and investigation findings in narrative reports.
- Inspect production areas and plants or products for contaminants. Obtain and submit samples of product to be tested by third party laboratory.
- Review product labels for conformance to labeling requirements.
- Determine the validity of complaints of marijuana law violations by talking with complainant, licensee, witnesses (in person and over the phone); observing at the licensed business; and reviewing the compliance history of the business.
- Plan and conduct minor decoy operations with other law enforcement agencies or program staff. Recruit and train minor decoys.
- Gather, control, and secure evidence according to procedures to preserve the integrity and chain-of-custody.
- Provide licensees with consultative assistance by educating or training on regulatory requirements and developing strategies for achieving compliance with rule and law such as implementing operational changes to the business.
- Interpret regulatory requirements, analyze facts and apply policy and standards to decide appropriate action to gain compliance from licensee.
- May issue citations to gain compliance, depending on the nature of the violations, the facilities’ history and past corrective action plans, and other information obtained during site survey or investigation.
- May review security plans and make recommendations for license revocation or other corrective actions if facilities are not meeting the Commission’s security goals.
- Prepare and present documents needed for contested case hearing. Testify on behalf of the Commission at administrative law hearings or in court.
- Manage an active marijuana license caseload, assess priorities and use discretion to plan the scope, direction and outcome of investigations.
- Making independent assessments of whether applicants have a habit of abuse, criminal record or otherwise present a poor risk of compliance using the resources available, including analyzing and interpreting Commission compliance history and technical reports of other professional disciplines such as medical or alcohol treatment reports, police reports and court documents.
- Reviewing applicants' business proposals and financial background to verify legitimacy and sufficiency of funds and to detect the presence of unauthorized ownership and/or organized crime.
- Analyzing information from leases, sales agreements, contracts, corporate documents and partnership agreements to determine ownership and legal access to the business.
- Interviewing applicants to obtain information about eligibility and assessing credibility.
- Identifying and applying relevant statutes, rules, case law, Attorney General Opinions and Commission policy to relevant facts.
- Evaluating floor plans and blue prints of proposed outlets. Analyzing their sufficiency to meet OLCC operating requirements and the applicant's operating proposal.
- Inspecting newly constructed or remodeled marijuana licensed premises to assure that physical layout and business operation comply with statute, rule and Commission policy.

Here is what you need to qualify:
Three years of experience conducting investigations of allegations, facts, behaviors, documents, laws, legal precedents and/or other information. This experience must include preparing written reports using individual judgment in developing conclusions or recommendations that are subject to review in court, administrative hearings or comparable formal review process; OR
An Associate’s degree in criminal justice, human or behavioral sciences, business or public administration or other related field AND eighteen months of experience conducting investigations; OR
A Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, human or behavioral sciences, business or public administration or other related field; OR
Any relevant combination of education and experience equivalent to three years.
Examples of experience that may qualify are regulatory compliance investigation; criminal investigation; child welfare investigation or eligibility determination; governmental benefit, business or mail fraud investigation; revenue audits; insurance claims or fraud investigation.
The agency will consider all fields of education when determining qualifications and prior to invitation for interview processes.
Upon hire and throughout employment, employees must successfully obtain and maintain Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) certification as a Regulatory Specialist.

Training Academy: Inspectors are required to successfully complete the DPSST Marijuana Training Academy when scheduled by the OLCC. The academy is currently four (4) weeks long, at the DPSST training facility in Salem, and attendees are expected to stay at the facility for the duration of the training, except on weekends. Academy coursework includes defensive tactics training which is highly strenuous. Inspectors unable to attend or successfully complete the training academy will not continue employment.

Lab Director
We are seeking a full-time, highly organized, and motivated individual to manage the day-to-day operations involving the extraction, post-processing, and distillation of cannabis biomass and oils. Occasionally, daily responsibilities will vary outside of standard job duties. Role Summary
The Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing the receipt and transfer of cannabis product in and out of their assigned vault, whether through internal or external transfers. In addition, this person manages our internal audit process by tracking, investigating, and resolving variances.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Responsible for maintaining accurate and compliant cannabis inventory, including flower and processed product
- Responsible for overseeing internal and external transactions, including physical and electronic transfer of product between departments and for sale
- Completes required data entry (logging transactions, transfers, and daily intake/outgoing product) using Excel and state electronic record keeping systems to maintain compliance
- Coordinates with Security to maintain and update vault access list and ensures access is limited only to authorized personnel

Qualifications & Skills
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma required or GED; bachelor’s degree preferred

The Marketing Director is primarily responsible for elevating the brand identity of Berkshire Roots in the Massachusetts' cannabis market to drive customer loyalty, meet and exceed product sales' forecasts, and build the company’s reputation as a formidable retail and wholesale cannabis cultivator, processor and retailer.

Position Title:   Production Senior Director
The Production Senior Director will be a key contributor to the evolution and growth of Berkshire Roots’ production volume, quality control and continuous efficiency improvements. Utilizing a combination of manufacturing experience and cannabis production experience, the right candidate will use data-driven decision-making to ensure proper staffing, introduction of automation and other time-saving/cost-saving measures and forecast production requirements based on market demand. In collaboration with key Managers and Directors from each major department, the Production Senior Director will be the linchpin to creating a smooth running “factory” operation while accounting for the dynamic changes in the marketplace and available resources.
Key Job Requirements:
- Co-lead a staff of 40+ in conjunction with department heads
- Collaborate with manufacturing department heads (cultivation, trim, packaging, extraction, kitchen) to ensure proper and efficient staffing
- Research and recommend necessary equipment for innovation, automation and efficiency
- Determine capital and operating expenditure requirements to improve volume and efficiencies of the overall manufacturing operations
- In collaboration with department heads, develop product portfolio expansion criteria and feasibility of adding new products to manufacturing, as well as contributing to determination of flower strains to produce / potential yield and mix of third-party products to purchase in order to meet sales' demand
- Contribute to “factory” inventory management, in collaboration with Factory and Inventory Procurement Manager
- Ensure factory Par Values are met in accordance with aligned consensus among departments;
- Research and understand all labeling and testing requirements for new products
- Troubleshoot issues within manufacturing or infusion process with new or existing technology (e.g. failed tests, poor yields, product stability, shelf life, efficiency)
- Track COGS in collaboration with accounting functions to determine SKU-level margin analysis
- Implement equipment and departmental maintenance schedule for all critical and semi-critical manufacturing equipment
- Coordinate with third-party testing laboratories for all products manufactured internally
- Research and recommend third-party companies for raw materials involved with all manufacturing (e.g. cultivation material, food ingredients, CO2, Hydrocarbon, and alcohol companies)
- Collaborate with Facilities Director on existing policies for safety, security, and sanitary conditions

· Operation and maintenance of equipment for cannabis extraction, distillation, and other post-processing steps.
· Following SOPs for all processes performed in the laboratory.
· Ensuring efficient and cost-effective processes are being utilized.
· Cleaning and maintenance of equipment and laboratory space.
· Maintaining strict inventory records of cannabis concentrate, lab consumables, and equipment in conjunction with the Laboratory Manager and fellow associates.
· Record keeping of all details pertinent to the extraction processes.
· Knowing, understanding, and meeting all regulations set by the Cannabis Control Commission.
· Storing of supplies and equipment, disposal of waste, and keeping work area in pristine condition.
· Washing and sterilization of laboratory glassware and equipment.
· Participating in ongoing education and professional development opportunities.
· Working collectively and respectfully with other team members.
· Enforcing a culture of safety with an attention to detail.
· Assisting in product design and presentation as opportunities arise.
Essential Work Experience and Qualifications:
· 2+ years experience working in a laboratory.
· Experience and background in the cannabis industry is a plus.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Detail oriented with an eye on process improvement and optimization.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage high-stress situations, and be flexible and adaptable when a situation requires.
· Must have the ability to push, pull, or lift a minimum of 60 pounds.
· Throughout extended periods, must be capable of sitting, squatting, standing, kneeling, bending, or walking through the workday.
· Must be able to handle constructive criticism and guidance and offer the same to others in the department.
· Ability to work a varying schedule including nights, weekends, and overtime on occasion.
· Understanding of OSHA guidelines for workplace safety and hazardous chemicals.
· Full comprehension of CCC regulations as they relate to processes completed in the laboratory.
· Compliance and understanding of laboratory standards.
Education:
· Minimum High School or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
· Bachelor's degree in science-related field (Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Plant Biology, Chemical Engineering, other)
