Laboratory Manager
*We are looking for a qualified and passionate scientist to lead our laboratory staff in testing cannabis products for both quality control purposes and Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission compliance testing. A successful candidate will demonstrate a desire to bring scientific rigor and expertise to a new and exciting industry.**The Lab Manager will ensure that all processes undertaken by the organization deliver reliable data to customers. The primary function of this role will be leading and monitoring laboratory activities and equipment to ensure quality results are consistently generated. Communication skills, organization, attention to safety, detail and time management are all a must.**Responsibilities
- Lead team in performing sample analysis and data review on client samples utilizing validated analytical methods
- Responsible for performing instrument maintenance, including but not limited to, running calibration curves, cleaning instrument parts and general instrument troubleshooting
- Demonstrate ability to multitask and prioritize projects efficiently
- Maintain a safe, clean, well-organized, and efficient laboratory work environment.
- Remain up-to-date on all SOPs and work closely with Quality team to maintain documentation required for compliance
- Assist in maintaining the laboratory for ISO accreditation standards and future audits.
- Ensure adequate inventory of laboratory supplies
- Work and strategize directly with executive leadership on process optimization for improving the efficiency of data generation and testing turnaround time
- Management responsibilities including, but not limited to: involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity, and daily operations of multiple levels of staff and multiple functions/departments across matrix organization

Required Skills & Experience
- Analytical chemistry background is essential
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Bachelor's Degree in biological, chemical, agricultural, environmental, or related sciences from an accredited college or university and at least 5 years of experience in a regulated and/or high throughput laboratory environment
- Exceptional wet laboratory technique and ability to perform work in accordance with ISO standards
- Candidates with LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS, GC-FID, HPLC, or ICP-MS instrumentation and software experience are preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic and microbiological techniques
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required
- Must have a positive and supportive attitude
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Effective oral and written communication including ability to communicate with individuals in differing roles including employees, customers, and vendors
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain a strong work ethic
- Proven leadership competencies
