Position Title: Purchasing and Intake Coordinator
The primary role of the Purchasing and Intake Coordinator is to work collaboratively with the
Purchasing Manager with all orders, menu descriptions, compliance, and accuracy as well as
support the retail team by pushing stock movements needed for products onto the sales floor to
maximize sales. The Intake Team plays a vital role in the business as all products brought into
our system must be done with attention to detail and accurately in accordance with the Bureau
of Cannabis Control – California (BCC) and Highway’s procedures.
Essential Responsibilities:
? Reviews DOH with Purchasing Manager to execute on ordering plan for the week.
? Input new products into the POS and ensure they are correct and in the proper
naming conventions for Product Masters.
? Audit the POS system from time to time to look for data errors and discrepancies and
update accordingly.
? Create POs and conduct local ordering in alignment with the Purchasing Manager
and purchasing SOP.
? Create and upload the payables package for accounting to process inventory
including, PO, manifest and invoice and ensure they are accurate.
? Assist with creating discounts in the system.
? Support marketing in promotional campaign execution, as it relates to product
procurement (promos/samples).
? Receive/intake incoming product upon delivery performing quality and compliance
checks.
? Coordinates all product movement such as intake, transfers, returns, etc.
? Follows all state regulations as well as KindPeoples’ policies and procedures and
ships out by a targeted deadline each month.
? Execute compliance audits and report any issues.
? Assist Purchasing Manager to update procedures as needed when industry
guidelines, regulations or laws are changed.
? Record and report all potential indications of loss,waste, etc as soon as observed per
BCC regulations and Company procedure.
? Work with the Purchasing Manager and/or Store Manager to update or improve any
inventory control procedures to maximize efficiency.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- 2+ years’ experience in purchasing and inventory capacities
- Sitting and standing for an extended period of time.
- Push/pull/lift to 50 lbs.
- Valid identification to work in the US.
- Possess strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Must be proactive and solution-oriented with a positive attitude.
- Strong multi-tasker and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Be knowledgeable and ensure your store’s compliance with Highway’s policies, procedures, and standards as well as DCC requirements.

- Ensure the execution of all VM directives are understood, actioned and followed.
- Meet all VM deadlines, including window directives. Ensure floor sets happen in a timely manner as well as marketing and signage updates.

This role provides sales support for our Inorganic products to include applications development, training and presales activities. Preference on location is Eastern US, near a major airport.
Our Team
The Food Sales Team represents PerkinElmer’s entire portfolio of solutions for Food quality and Food safety across Food, including Cannabis. This includes analytical instrumentation such as chromatography, inorganic, and spectroscopy, as well as Food specific solutions including Perten products and others. The Field Application Scientists work closely with the sales team to optimize the research scope and vision for our customers.
Job Responsibilities
- Execute technical product demonstrations/presentations to individual prospects and seminar audiences in support of pre-sales activity including workshops and RFI/RFP support for product area.
- Provide and delivery product training to customers.
- Provide subject matter expertise in the areas of LC and LCMS analysis to support customers in understanding how to maximize their use of our software applications
- Collaborate with all Field Team members to develop and deploy world-class systems and tools and provide front-line support to sales as the Field Application Scientist
- Provide and deliver product training to field (marketing & sales) as new features/functionality are available for designated product and domain specialty
- Coordinate with Product Management to identify, communicate, and incorporate new product enhancements and also with the Services team to insure we deliver competitive solutions that are differentiated through value as perceived by our customers
- Characterize the external market by performing pipeline analysis and competitive assessments for region and scientific domain
- Coordinate with Marketing Communications organization to develop and participate in marketing campaign design and execution as needed
- Present a professional image at all times to customers, clients and other vendors.
Qualifications
- MS, PhD and/or BS in a scientific discipline or equivalent with 5 plus years in the Chromatography and Mass Spectroscopy field.
- Experience and working knowledge of LC and LCMS including sample preparation requirements.
- Cannabis sample experience highly preferred.
- Current or previous scientific expertise and experience with a customer focus and excellent communication skills
- Willingness for as much as 50% overnight travel.
