Maintain nurseries by performing the following duties: bed preparation, planting, digging, cultivating, mowing, fence maintenance, labeling and inventory.

Control weed, insect, animal, and disease problems in greenhouse and nursery production areas using appropriate cultural and chemical control methods.

Assist with maintenance of plant production facilities and equipment. Use proper care and storage of plant production tools and equipment.

Lead part-time staff and volunteers on projects as needed.

Qualifications: Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree in horticulture, greenhouse and nursery management programs preferred. 9+ months of relevant work experience during or following academic training required. In lieu of this, a comparable combination of education, experience or training that would provide the level of knowledge, skills and ability required may qualify an individual. Basic understanding of plant growth and interaction with varying environmental conditions required. Ability to operate machinery and equipment used in nursery and greenhouse management. Must be able to obtain and maintain certification as a pesticide Operator in the State of Illinois, capable of wearing a respirator while working. Must possess a valid driver’s license, which is subject to insurability and an annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google applications beneficial.

- Optimize room rental charges.
- Field numerous inquiries and direct calls to Sales Managers. Provide basic information regarding the hotel.
- Handle rooming lists before the cut-off date and individual reservation requests/changes.
- Add confirmation numbers to housing websites and keep up with changes
- Blocking of group rooms – via clients' request
- Set up all group routing on all groups
- Set up packages in the system for all groups
- Load corporate negotiated rates in the system.
- Monitor group room blocks and pick up. Contact clients about cut-off dates for room blocks. Adds pick-up numbers in Delphi.
- Group Welcome Letter – emailed and given to front desk.
- VIP Requests – work with other departments regarding blocking of the room
- Handle all Wedding Amenities, Sales Amenities, or VIP Amenities
- Create all Group Codes and Booking Links
- Process all Hilton Honor points for all Sales Managers
- Update STR Segmentation on STR Website on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Create Breakfast Coupons
- Create Door Cards and directional signs for groups
- Run Changes – Call for final guarantees and routing of the changes to the BEOs
- Run the Missing BEO report for the upcoming split
- Run split for the upcoming week's events.
- Make reservations for special hotel events such as Breakfast with Santa, Brunch, or NYE Celebration.
- Set up advertising on Event Brite and process reservations that come through Event Brite
- Create promotional materials for sales, such as any special promotions, Breakfast with Santa, NYE Celebration any outside Sales Blitz.
- Comfortable with hotel site inspections and preparing client presentations
- Excellent knowledge of computers, specifically Delphi, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Manage existing accounts and follow up with clients to pre-solicitation to capture future business
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Friendly and able to build a rapport with guests to establish a future business.
- Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, you may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel, guests or groups based on operational needs.

Griffin is one of the country’s premier horticultural distribution companies, providing end to end solutions for commercial growers. The Controlled Environmental Agriculture Division (CEA Division) at Griffin provides solutions to growers producing food and cannabis crops grown under cover, both in greenhouses and indoor grow facilities. We are looking for bright, driven individuals that have the energy and enthusiasm to work with growers securing our food supply and changing the landscape of horticulture.
Summary: The person in this customer service role supports both customers and the CEA sales team by processing quotes and orders for production supplies for lettuce, greens, vegetable, fruit, and cannabis crops produced in greenhouse and warehouse production spaces. Customers and reps supported by this role are focused on the east coast though the role also supports our team and customers at a national level. This is an entry-level office role, part of a tight-knit, national team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned or required by management.
- Works with customers via phone and email to process quote and order requests
- Prepares quotes and processes orders for CEA sales staff
- Proactively encourages recurring customer order placement and advance orders
- Tracks order status and provides updates and information to sales staff and customers
- Conducts product and sourcing research
- Works with business managers and warehouse managers to communicate stocking needs to meet customer demand
- Maintains accurate customer information in company database
- Enters orders accurately and in a timely manner
- Sets accurate customer expectations for response and delivery times
- This position requires regular and reliable attendance and adherence to work schedules; this is an in-office position.
Education and/or Experience: Must show the ability to learn quickly with minimum supervision. Must demonstrate proven telephone, customer service and computer skills with ability to multi-task and maintain composure in difficult situations. Should enjoy fast paced, dynamic work situations. Horticultural exposure and/or experience desirable. College degree in Horticulture or Business preferred.
Communication Skills: Strong English written, and verbal communication skills are required.
Organizational Skills: Must demonstrate the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and problem solve. Strong attention to detail and excellent proof-reading skills.
Attendance/Punctuality: Attendance and punctuality are required. Must arrive at work on time and stay through the entire workday. Arrives at meetings and appointments on time. Works extra hours when required. Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent.
Computer Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office, Intermediate Excel Skills, and Business Operations Computer Systems.

The Cannabis Advisor is responsible for providing exceptional individualized customer service, educational consulting, and in some cases patient record management.
Our ideal Cannabis Advisor has a positive upbeat attitude and a desire to help people find the best product for their needs. A background in retail and hospitality is highly preferred (1-2 years), but customer service experience is required.
**This position requires night and weekend availability!**
Responsibilities:
- Possess a positive attitude while greeting customers and patients.
- Be an advocate of cannabis customer care.
- Help customers and patients navigate through cannabis and educate them on how it can be used as a wellness product.
- Build rapport with regular patients/customers to promote repeat business.
- Work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment.
- Provide patients and customers alike with information on types, methods and efficacy of various cannabis products. (we do not provide medical advice)
- Be open to continued, on-going cannabis education and training.
- Provide support to managers and other Cannabis Consultants as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organize, and sanitize workstation/store front.
- Ensure accuracy of online orders before pick-up.
- Understand and apply detailed compliance regulations as required by local and state laws.
- Stock, merchandise, and replenish displays of regulated and unregulated inventory.
- Complete transactions at the POS and ensure the state monitored inventory system (METRC, BioTrack, etc.) accurately updates the amount of product available.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of retail or hospitality experience.
- Must be 21 years of age and comply with all local, state, and company regulations.
- Desire to learn about cannabinoids, terpenes and product application/consumption methods.
- Ability to use office equipment (computers and printers) and their included software i.e. Word, Excel, email, etc.
- Learn and understand Federal, State, and local laws relating to the cannabis industry and safety regulations.
Physical and Mental Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position, move and/or position oneself, communicate, operate and/or prepare, place, position objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally move packages weighing up to 20 lb. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close observation and the ability to adjust focus.
