Job Summary

Dark Heart Nursery is looking for responsible, customer driven individuals to fill our Delivery Driver position. This is a commercial driving position delivery from our business to other businesses, not a retail delivery position. The perfect candidate will have a clean driving record and will be responsible for delivering clone orders safely, accurately, on-time, and in compliance with state and local regulations. This person should provide excellent customer service to our direct grower and dispensary partners through professional scheduling correspondence, on-time delivery, and friendly transaction interactions. Please be able to and be comfortable driving a 26ft box truck and larger.
*This position will require overnight trips* 1-2 times per week. Weekends Required. No accidents, tickets or DUIs. Looking for Class A and Class B Licensed Drivers!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):
- Deliver finished product to customers on time with no errors.
- Provide excellent customer service and communication to our customers.

Dark Heart Nursery is seeking Temporary or "Seasonal” Propagators to work on our production line in our nursery. This position will be offered based on performance assessment and availability.
As a Seasonal Employee you will provide assistance during times of high volume production. This is an entry-level, non-exempt, full-time position. Overtime is paid at 1.5 X regular hourly pay rate.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Properly and precisely executes slicing of plants to ensure quality cuts;
- Effectively, efficiently and safely transplant plant life;
- Pull plants while looking for signs of pests, diseases, mold and rot;
- Prune stock plants to provide cuttings for propagation;
- Collaborates with and provides support to nursery staff within a production environment;
- Follow standard operating procedures at all times in a safe and compliant manner;
- Maintain a clean area upon completion of assigned duties and responsibilities;

Dark Heart Nursery is recruiting for an Office Manager/Administrative Assistant who will be responsible for assisting the Greenhouse staff and management team with ordering office and production supplies and maintaining inventory, scheduling, order fulfillment, coordinating deliveries, and assisting the HR Director with human resource functions (hiring, onboarding, employee relations, employee engagement).
The ideal candidate is confident, can work independently, is highly organized, and thrives working in a greenhouse/nursery/farm setting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (including, but not limited too)
- Coordinate with Greenhouse Management to schedule all labor sufficiently to meet the demands of the department
- Manage production department calendars, coordinating meetings, trainings, and special events
- Work with Managers to order supplies. Implement and use “Just in time” inventory techniques to minimize labor but ensure all required materials are available. Solicit bids and compare costs to ensure competitive pricing
- Hire and onboard Team members and manage time and attendance system
- Inventory Management--Creating systems for inventory
- Inputting new employees and providing assistance with time clocks as needed
- Prepare for biweekly payroll by reviewing time punches and reviewing exceptions and resolve them directly with staff
- Maintain time and attendance reports and ensure issues are shared with supervisors (tardiness, no call no show, excessive absences, etc)

Position Summary
The Grower I is responsible for the care of the crops being assigned by his/her supervisor ensuring that crops will finish on time and according to internal harvest specifications. This role will oversee crops grown in the Half Moon Bay area. The Grower I should adhere to established best practices and strategies to ensure success, which is measured via specific and defined objectives related to quality, crop timing and yield.
Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)
· Responsible for record keeping associated with assigned crops in all areas of harvesting as assigned by manager.
· Responsible for water, fertility, soil, pest disease, crop timing, scheduling and planning management for assigned crops.
· Manage quality control for assigned crops to ensure crops specifications are being met on a timely manner.
· Liaison between Horticulture Department and Operations Department to ensure efficient communication regarding labor deployment efficiencies.
· Report and communicate any problems associated with assigned crops to grower manager and other pertinent functions.
· Effectively lead and supervise sprayers and irrigators by providing proper training, following safety procedures and taking disciplinary actions as needed.
· Responsible for overseeing greenhouse daily maintenance, including a clean and safe work environment.
· Work responsibly at all times. Report any hazardous conditions to department head.
· This position works on a rotational schedule with other Growers to cover weekend work.
· Perform any other related or assigned duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Experience)
· Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture or Biological Sciences required.
· 1year minimum pertinent work experience in managing greenhouses, crop trials and related fields required.
· Must be capable of managing up to 3 employees; on the job training will be provided.
· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Bilingual (English/ Spanish) preferred.
· Valid California Driver’s License and eligibility for company auto insurance required.
· Ability to work successfully with all levels of management.
· CA Private Applicator certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; frequently required to talk or hear; and occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities by this job include close distance and color vision.

· Manage research and development projects (i.e. trials) in partnership with Production Supervisors.
· Manage quality control for assigned crops to ensure crops specifications are being met on a timely manner.
· Ensure efficient communication regarding labor deployment efficiencies.
· Report and communicate any problems associated with assigned crops to grower manager and other pertinent functions.
· Effectively lead and supervise the employees by providing proper training, following safety procedures and taking disciplinary actions as needed.
· Responsible for overseeing greenhouse daily maintenance, including a clean as safe work environment.
· Work responsibly at all times. Report any hazardous conditions to department head.
· Perform any other related or assigned duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture is preferred, Biological Sciences and/or previous on the job training
· CA Private Applicator Certification (PAC) strongly preferred, otherwise eligible and mandatory to obtain within 6 months of hire
- 7+ years of experience in managing greenhouses, crop trials or related fields
- 3+ years of supervisory and/or management experience. Ability to supervise a crew of 10+ employees
- Advanced in Microsoft Office (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Bilingual (English/ Spanish) required
· Valid driver’s license and eligibility for auto insurance
· Ability to work with all levels of management
