The ideal Director of Cultivation candidate is experienced in agricultural operations and ready to operate multiple cultivation operations on a commercial-scale. This position will be tasked with the creation and supervision of three 10,000 square foot flowering canopies, licensed in Nevada County California. This role will report directly to ownership with shared responsibility for budgeting.
The Director of Cultivation is responsible for writing a comprehensive operations plan, hiring and training, assisting in design and oversight of facilities build-out, genetics acquisitions, setting company goals, and maintaining facility compliance and cleanliness – complete production.
Compensation:
$70,000 - $85,000 yearly plus production bonus
Responsibilities:
- Well researched in new techniques and insight and dedicated to expand knowledge
- Will work closely with other managers and directors in order to execute the company's overall cultivation strategy

Triminator (www.thetriminator.com) is the industry leader in cannabis and hemp processing equipment. The production manager is responsible for implementing assembly processes and managing production output. The production manager plans, directs, and coordinates all assembly operations to achieve delivery targets and company objectives. The production manager oversees the day to day operations of the assembly staff including; resource planning, hiring and training. The production manager works with the engineering team to develop assembly processes, solve technical problems and identify bottlenecks in resources and assembly methods. The production manager must be a great team leader, systems focused, and technically proficient with mechanical systems and assemblies.
What you will do:
- Manage the production area including policies, plans, and procedures, including, but not limited to, the areas of staffing, scheduling, assembly, and product quality.
- Develop and implement manufacturing systems to insure safe, efficient production to meet company cost and quality goals.
- Monitor workload and backlog; ensure assembly resources are applied properly to support delivery priorities. Monitor actual performance against scheduled performance and seeks to overcome any delays.
- Assess capacity requirements. Implement staffing programs as required, setting high standards in recruiting, attracting and retaining staff. Manage the manufacturing staff and create a positive team environment.
- Develop and implement quality, safety, and training standards and procedures consistent with company goals. Improving product quality is a key aspect of the position.
- Problem solve and resolve unplanned issues quickly and efficiently while maintaining the quality of final product.
- Collaborate with the engineering team on production procedures and/or suggested modifications to products to increase efficiency of production.
- Establish programs and set goals regarding measurement and improvements of operations for assigned areas. Areas include quality, timelines, and cost.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3 years of relevant manufacturing and/or operations management
- Significant people skills
- Technical understanding of tools and manufacturing assembly processes
- Experience as a manager
- Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment
- Experience working with an ERP or inventory control system
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in manufacturing, engineering, or equivalent fields.

This position will require overseas travel to meet with suppliers and vendors and will also require a non-standard work schedule from the hours of 2pm - 10pm.

Responsibilities:
The Purchasing Manager's responsibilities include developing purchasing strategies, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, coordinating with internal teams regarding their supply needs, and overseeing the purchasing team in their daily activities. Take ownership of the supplies and procurement process throughout the organization while planning, forecasting, and making deadlines. The Purchasing Manager is responsible for shipping/receiving orders, maintaining strict timelines, and performing quality assurance checks on shipments while providing prompt resolutions to discrepancies.

The ideal Director of Cultivation candidate is experienced in agricultural operations and ready to operate multiple cultivation operations on a commercial-scale. This position will be tasked with the creation and supervision of three 10,000 square foot flowering canopies, licensed in Nevada County California. This role will report directly to ownership with shared responsibility for budgeting.
The Director of Cultivation is responsible for writing a comprehensive operations plan, staffing and training, assisting in design and oversight of facilities build-out, genetics acquisitions, setting company goals, and maintaining facility compliance & cleanliness – complete production.
Compensation:
$50,000 - $72,000
Responsibilities:
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Well researched in new techniques and insight and dedicated to expand knowledge
- Will work closely with other managers and directors in order to execute the company's overall cultivation strategy
- Develop a comprehensive staffing plan then participate with managers to hire, train, and supervise staff (includes scheduling, supervision, training, and annual performance reviews)
- Create and manage schedules, cultivation processes, inventory, and vendor relations
- Coordinate with ownership, wholesale, extraction, and cultivation management interests, with regard to production scheduling
- Create implement Standard Operating Procedures for cultivation, maintenance, and grounds
- Ensure that the cultivation center adheres to all state regulatory compliance standards and maintains proper documentation
- Understand compliance with all HR policies, including confidentiality and non-disclosure
- Establish system and chain of command to collect, analyze, and maintain data on cultivation operations to aid strategic planning and operational decisions
- Serve as a role model and resource for staff with regards to products and services, policies and procedures, industry news, and changes in regulations
- Respond to questions, concerns, or suggestions and take action to resolve conflicts
- Maintain accurate records of all cultivation activities, including employee records, inventory records, and crop application records
- Upkeep working knowledge of traceability programs, including Metrc
- Consistently report cultivation status, verbally and in written form to all executive leadership/ownership
- Conduct weekly meetings to communicate status and directives
- Test/Sample/Trial equipment to ensure subject matter expertise for future facility and equipment purchases
- Create a complete facility compliance plan, with periodic internal audits, to ensure state and environmental safety regulations are met
- Frequent travel for facility inspections, media events, and other meetings as needed
CULTIVATION OPERATIONS AND MANAGEMENT
- Ensure optimal plant health while maximizing yields by maintaining proper pruning, plant training, and trimming processes and procedures
- Delegate tasks to cultivation agents in order to maintain an efficient, compliant, and clean cultivation facility
- Ensure all the tasks are performed in the operation, including cloning, transplanting, feeding plants, defoliation, trellising, topping, flushing, foliar and preventative sprays, trimming, waste disposal and inventory management
- Develop and execute preventative, naturally-integrated pest/disease control, maintenance and elimination of all types of mold, powdery mildew, spider mites, root aphids, fungus gnats, etc. with STRICT adherence to all state compliance and environmental safety regulation
- Maintain a clean and organized cultivation center with proper inventory of all cultivation supplies
- Oversee the creation and implementation of all cultivation operations, plans, policies, and procedures (SOP) regarding propagation, plant care, IPM, health and safety operations, harvest, and post-harvest
- Create and implement best practices for plant health and care - paying close attention to different cultivars' specific needs
- Select, appoint, and train staff on the operation of the cultivation facility's automated tools, such as grow room temperature controls, lighting, watering systems and other infrastructure
POST PRODUCTION, DRYING, TRIMMING, CURING MANAGEMENT
- Supervise all activities with respect to the harvesting, drying, curing and trimming, and storage of
- cannabis
- Make specific adjustments to trimming equipment to ensure quality control and efficiency of trimming work
- Ensure that work areas are clean and maintained at all times
- Ensure that end products conform to quality and quantity standards
- Create and manage production reports on a daily basis
- Establish a repeatable and standardized process for the drying of premium cannabis
- Establish standard operating procedures and conditions with measurable criteria and a final dry product specification
- Impart knowledge and train all staff in the drying/curing and trimming departments to ensure high-quality, dried cannabis is produced every harvest
- Recommend and implement process improvements
- Adapt processes to accommodate for difference strains, styles, and types of cannabis; work closely with the quality and cultivation teams to make decisions and adjustments as necessary
- Monitor and track performance of drying/curing and trimming rooms and report issues in a timely
- manner; adjust environmental conditions and track the outcome as required
- Certify, maintain and improve product quality
- Participate in strategic discussions regarding dry/cure operations and provide advice to senior
- management
FACILITIES/BUILDING AND GROUNDS MANAGEMENT
- Facility maintenance and troubleshooting as necessary
- Monitor climate equipment and data – repair, adjust, and maintain as necessary to ensure proper functionality
- Develop a monthly inspection process to identify maintenance and repair needs
ADMINISTRATIVE OPERATIONS
- Coordinate and create budgets; forecast future expenses for the cultivation operation
- Ensure budget compliance and inform management of possible variances
- Create systems of reporting to ownership for all relevant information
SCHEDULE AND INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
Create and maintain garden calendar and rotation of strains taking into account seasonal weather and strain characteristics to ensure:
- Variety of product (to match wholesale and retail sale demands)
- Quantity of product
- Quality of product
- Develop and/or maintain cultivation nutrient regiment:
- Select and create nutrient recipes and schedules that will maximize plant health and yield
- Ensure proper application
- Manage plant scheduling and organization to precisely project all garden needs on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to keep the garden green and expenses low
Qualifications:
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in plant biology, physiology, biological sciences, or agricultural sciences, horticulture or agriculture management
- Expert knowledge of plant diseases, insects and fungi, as well as plant treatment options
- At least 5 years commercial grow experience
- Knowledge of large-scale commercial plant cultivation including nutrient requirements, mediums, light requirements, temperature control, airflow, etc.
- Experience managing a large-scale cultivation operation that has a clean history of compliance
- In-depth working knowledge of cannabis plant symptom diagnosis, causality and remedy applications
- Physical aptitude and health necessary to perform manual labor tasks required for the proper management of a grow warehouse
- Advanced knowledge of hemp or cannabis plants and genetics
- OSHA certified in Safety Training preferred
- Must have accountability, proactive behavior and strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated personnel management experience
- Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills
- Experience in a position requiring critical-thinking, problem-solving, planning and assessment
