Position Overview: The Supervisor, Retail Operations (the “Supervisor) is responsible for assisting the Manager with interfacing, consulting with qualified patient and caregiver and administering approved medical marijuana products. Major Areas of Responsibility include:
- The Supervisor, Retail Operations ensures compliance with all Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Pilot Program rules and regulations governing the Act, and directly supervises the activity within the dispensary to include dispensary staff training and education in the absence of the Manager and as directed.
- The Supervisor, Retail Operations provides management and leadership in the Dispensing Facility to include monitoring all point of sale transactions.
- The Supervisor, Retail Operations manages patient specific logs as required, the receipt, storage and auditing of all inventory, and is responsible for ordering new inventory and supplies, maintaining accurate records using BioTrackTHC, the Dispensing Facility’s inventory tracking software program.
- As the responsible party at the Dispensing Facility, this position resolves all inventory discrepancies and patient-staff conflicts.
- The Supervisor, Retail Operations is responsible for the development of the Dispensing Facility’s privacy policies and procedures, the security and confidentiality of all patient information, as well as overall compliance with HIPAA.
- This position acts as a liaison internally between all staff, dispensary management team and the Manager, and externally between the Dispensing Facility and law enforcement, Commissioner of Health, and the local community.
- Directs and monitors department managers to accomplish goals of the plan, consistent with established and safety procedures.
- Establishes methods to follows the operating plan in compliance with the Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Pilot Program, maintaining records required by public health law and ensures quality assurance plans, including but limited to plans to detect, identify and prevent dispensing errors related to product packaging and labeling.
- Manages and implements policies and procedures for any retesting of returned approved medical marijuana products, storage and disposal and meeting reporting requirements for adverse events and product recall.
- This position is responsible for assisting with implementing and maintaining security systems for tracking, record keeping, record retention and surveillance related to all product at every stage of, storage, delivery, transporting, and distribution.

Some responsibilities will include following and maintaining post harvest production schedule, managing and updating SOP's relevant to our processes as necessary, maintaining and putting into place a training program to ensure trimmers are meeting and exceeding their goals, aspects of inventory, packaging, employee and time management, input data into Live Harvest Sheet, monthly supplies ordering, and more.
Pay range is $18-25/hour and is DOE. EEOE. Health, Dental and Vision offered after 60 days. Job is full time from M-F, 7am-4pm.

The San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) is the largest Department within the City and County of San Francisco. With an annual operating budget of $2.4 billion, SFDPH employs over 8,000 people and contracts for more than $400 million in community-based services. Our mission is to protect and promote the health and well-being for all in San Francisco, and our vision is to make San Francisco the healthiest place on earth.
The SFDPH Population Health Division (PHD), which earned public health accreditation in 2017, carries out traditional and mandatory public health functions such as: consumer safety activities; health promotion and prevention; inspections of food, alcohol, and cannabis businesses; promote improved air and water quality; promote pedestrian safety; HIV prevention, research and surveillance; TB prevention and treatment; Emergency Medical Services; and analysis of community public health data. PHD will be elevating and integrating functions into a new Center for Data Science (CDS) that will unify existing information-gathering resources to allow SFDPH to make more effective data-driven public health decisions.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Under general direction of the of the County Health Officer, the 0922 Manager I - Director of the Center for Data Science will lead and grow a team of data scientists focused on Population Health Data Science-the transformation of data into actionable knowledge that informs, influences, or optimizes decision making to improve health. The Director will work directly with SFDPH executive leadership to tackle major public health challenges in San Francisco. The Center will support high-level decision-making, priority-setting, and resource allocation through the development of reports, dashboards, etc., for improved monitoring, tracking, and reporting for various stakeholders.
The Director will also be responsible for organizing trainings and developing partnerships with universities and the private sector to tackle complex data analysis and interpreting results from multiple sources using a variety of methods including, but not limited to, epidemiological and statistical analysis, health impact assessments, decision analysis, cost-effectiveness analysis, and operations research.
The Director of the Center for Data Science will possess deep expertise in data science and is a collaborative leader who creatively inspires and supports executive leadership, internal teams and community partners in how data science can improve the population health. The incumbent will have a proven track record in developing, managing, and leading teams and delivering complex analytical and data science projects and products in the healthcare/public health. They should love working with data and people, have a coaching and mentoring mindset, possess a strong interest in the intersection of health and technology, have an ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences, and be incredibly customer-focused.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The 0922 Director of the Center for Data Science performs the following essential functions:
- Manages the data science programs, operational activities, or projects of assigned section or program area; supervises, trains, provides oversight, and evaluates the data science activities of personnel and/or coordinates and monitors the work of consultants and contractors working for the department; works with other data science managers and staff to evaluate and implement goals, responsibilities, policies and procedures of the division.
- Monitors the work of and coaches subordinates and/or cross-matrix teams to improve data science methods, analysis, and performance.
- Evaluates data science procedures, identifies and analyzes problems and issues and may implement and document new procedures of the assigned section/program.
- Participates in budget development by providing detailed justification and persuasive arguments for proposals or initiatives.
- Coordinates budget preparation, monitors expenditures and financial reporting for assigned section; prepares reports, memoranda, and correspondence; and maintains statistical records. Implements and closely monitors budget expenditures; provides executive management with an early warning and practical options to potential cost overruns.
- Directs the allocation of resources to achieve timely outcomes and measurable goals within budget; adjusts plans and programs to meet emerging or new programs, while continuing to address major departmental priorities.
- Assists in developing and implementing operational policies to ensure the efficient operation of section or program.
- Writes grants for conduction data science research and evaluation.
- Develops and grows partnerships with Bay Area universities in data science, epidemiology, biostatistics, and computer science.
- Supports County Health Officer and SFDPH executive leadership in data and data analysis needs.
- Leads Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) for public health accreditation, Health Care Services Master Plan, and Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP).

Minimum Qualifications
1. Experience: Three (3) years (equivalent to 6,000 hours) of professional experience leading teams and performing complex data analysis and interpreting results from multiple sources.
AND
2. Education: Possession of a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
One year of full-time employment is equivalent to 2,000 hours (2,000 hours of qualifying work experience is based on a 40 hour work week). Any overtime hours that you work above 40 hours per week are not included in the calculation to determine full-time employment.

- Regularly monitor and maintain all company security and surveillance systems, policies and procedures.
- Maintain a regular log of reports by recording observations, information, incidents, and surveillance activities.
- Frequently patrol and inspect the property to identify and mitigate security issues.
- Monitor entrance/exit criteria and protocols for company facility.
- Train and review on a regular basis all security policies, protocols and procedures to maintain a highly ready and prepared status.
- Maintain relationships and initiate calls for response when needed from local law enforcement and emergency agencies.
- Conduct or support investigations as necessary including interviewing witnesses, obtaining signatures, and providing incident reports to senior management.
- Work closely with Director of Security to educate all company personnel on security protocols and promote a heightened security awareness.
- Assist in preventing losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; coordinating with local law enforcement to respond to any security issue.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Must have previous experience in military or law enforcement and armed security.
- Must not have been convicted of any felony offenses pursuant to state statutes.
- Will be subject to random drug testing and extensive background check.
- Able to stand/sit/walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to work outside during the summer months and/or during inclement weather.
- Scheduling flexibility.
