ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Demonstrate innovation by staying aware of emerging trends and recommending new
processes, products, training opportunities or techniques that will increase plant health,
lower costs or improve skills.
2. Conduct safety and technique training to all employees to minimize risk of
injury/exposure and maximize effectiveness. Actively participate as a permanent member
of the Safety Committee.
3. Identify employee challenges. Report the challenge and propose a solution to Site
Manager without delay. Implement a strategy to resolve employee challenges in order to
create and maintain team harmony.
4. Coordinate all activities of the spray teams including personnel, equipment, materials,
training, monitoring and problem solving to achieve the goal of each application.
5. Monitor VPA system so that inventory is accurate, orders are prompted, Purchase Orders
match and costing is correct.
6. Establish an annual budget for supplies. Ensure that costs are tracked and operations stay
within established financial parameters. Track costs by department and report reasons for
deviations from established budget on a monthly basis.
7. Maintain all equipment in a manner which results in regular preventive maintenance and
so that equipment is operating properly prior to each use.
8. Develop and maintain a scouting system in which problems are discovered and diagnosed
early enough to implement effective control prior to shipping and prior to economic
damage. Anticipate potential crises for the purpose of avoiding crop loss or lack of
availability.
9. Stay current with and assure legal compliance with all regulations.
10. Develop and maintain a catalog reference guide/history of accurately diagnosed crop
problems with pictures that is easily accessible to all so that anyone can use it to diagnose
any problems found in the crops.

PHYSICAL ASPECTS:
1. Job requires operating equipment and sustaining moderate levels of physical exertion for
long periods of time.
2. Job requires ability to pass a physical exam of respiratory health (required for respirator
use).
3. Lifting a minimum of 25 lbs.
4. Must pass respirator fit test.
5. Employee will be exposed to the sun and/or high intensity lights.
6. Employee will work in a wet environment where clothes and footwear can become
