Job Description

- Business-Minded Retailer Growth - Learn and master how a dispensary operates from a business and sales product perspective such that you can work with your clients to create and fine tune an ideal menu of Connected products.

Groundworks Industries is hiring a Director of Operations over our California operations. The right candidate for this role will have significant operations leadership experience and be excited about the idea of being a key leader in the cannabis industry.
The Director of Operations, CA is responsible for providing overall leadership and direction of Groundworks Industries California Operations in alignment with the company strategic plan.
Informed by a 'Balanced Scorecard' approach equally emphasizing People, Process/Technology, Customer and Finance the Director of Operations, CA will develop, implement and monitor processes while leading a large cross functional team to ensure operational excellence, achievement of financial targets, and maintain a focus on people development.
This is accomplished by way of a respectful, constructive and energetic style guided by Groundworks' core values and long-range objectives.

- Maintain a proactive approach to strategy execution and consistently communicate vertically and cross-functionally to ensure alignment of internal priorities and resources are allocated appropriately to achieve desired results
- Responsible for ensuring direct reports, as well as cross-functional departments, are aware of strategic objectives at the production level

Ensures operationally that all departments always adhere to brand strategies and align with organizational and operational guidelines
- Identifies, plans, and executes areas for improvement to ensure maximize efficiency and streamlined communication
- Maintain a proactive plan to fill open positions by recruiting and hiring quality staff with flexible availability, integrity and a strong skillset
- Partners with cross-functional departments (HR, IT, Finance, Compliance, Retail etc) to ensure their department initiatives are aligned with business objectives

- Lead and inspire a cross-functional team to achieve their business goals through setting clear and measurable objectives, developing their functional and relationship skills, and owning career progression planning for the team

Process/Technology
- Manages the implementation of strategy initiatives, programs, and procedures to promote key messages and achieve a competitive advantage in the cannabis industry
- Awareness of trends in technology and technique within the cannabis industry and regularly provide insight and outline opportunities for continued innovation
- Directs and continuously improves production execution to meet company objectives for operational excellence
- Focus on structured job training, standardization and documentation of all processes to ensure product consistency and uniform expectations
- Approve, maintain and facilitate communication of labor schedules based on the crop plan and needs of the business

Ensure facility is always compliant in both mandatory and voluntary requirements as outlined by internal and external regulatory guidelines.
Customer
- Oversee product quality assurance and ensure products comply with internal and external regulatory expectations
Finance
- Overall fiscal responsibility for achieving business plan goals and budgeted objectives through sales, margins, profitability, COGS and other financial measurements

Supervisory Responsibility
This role will have 3-5 direct reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from four-year university in Business, Management or comparable studies with MBA preferred.
- Ten or more years management experience with progressively increasing scope and responsibility with a minimum of 5 years in a senior management level.
- Minimum 10 years' experience successfully leading, managing and developing multi-function, multi-channel teams with development and execution of high-level strategic plans.
- Knowledge of the cannabis industry and the California marketplace preferred.
- Flexible schedule required.
- Significant experience and knowledge across with MS Office Suite, METRC, BioTrack, Excel, PPT.
- Ability to strategically prepare for and execute aggressive growth plans.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions and to utilize this data to make recommendations and decisions.
- Ability to deliver effective and persuasive presentations that support business decisions and influence outcomes cross functionally.

Pick Packer is responsible for picking/packing and fulfilling orders in a warehouse setting and other warehouse duties such as moving, organizing, and general cleaning.
Job Highlights
- Pick orders, by locating items in the warehouse, and moving them to the processing and shipping area.
- Inspect products to ensure that they’re accurately picked, not damaged or missing any parts, package them according to specifications and prepare to be shipped.
- Maintain warehouse inventory by arranging boxes and making sure they’re stored in a way that is organized, while matching assigned locations, and won’t be damaged.
- Track all orders, packaging, and shipping in order to ensure inventory is accurately recorded.
- Responsible for maintaining general cleanliness and organization in and around the warehouse.
Skills Required
- Familiarity with shipping software
- Being able to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects
- Being proficient in basic computer applications
- Previous warehouse experience

Location: Position is available at SHO headquarters, located in Los Angeles.
