Retail Consultant’s primary responsibility is to serve The Apothecarium’s guests. This role requires nothing less than excellent customer service, total understanding and strict compliance with all medical cannabis regulations and a positive, respectful attitude. Job Description
Company Description: Awe Sum Organics, Inc. is a well-established importer and marketer of organic fruit. The Company has been in business for 36 years and is a leader in the organic produce industry, with international and domestic product supply and distribution across the entire U.S. and Canada.
Description: This position reports to the CFO, and handles all of the grower accounting functions. Position ideally works from the office in Santa Cruz, Ca. or a hybrid remote / in-office arrangement.
This role will perform accounting of fresh produce imported into the U.S., resulting in the creation of grower lot sales and final settlement/liquidation reports including container lots and cartons received, fruit re-packaged or reconditioned, FOB sales pricing invoiced, adjusted, and collected. Account for product imported, bought, and sold, credits, Fair Trade Certification fees, grower distributions, and other functions.
Duties and Responsibilities Include
· Professionally communicate with company accounting, sales and operations teams, growers, and any other parties to resolve questions, issues and/or concerns that company team members, or growers may have.
· Support company management and accounting department with preparation of weekly and seasonal settlement and payment schedules to each growers, respond to company team and grower questions promptly, setup of grower contracts in Prophet ERP at beginning of season for each grower, settle grower account sales timely in accordance to contract at end of season, team with company accounting, sales, and operations department prior to settlement to review AR collection status on open invoices, ensure that regular payments to growers are made timely.
· Timely completion of assigned period-end and year-end closing tasks. Period-end to include completion of settlement posting and report accuracy for all active grower lots. Completion of received lot recaps. Year-end to also include confirmation of fruit and packaging inventories; supervision of reconciliation of CHEP pallets and reallocation of costs to projects.
· Produce timely grower and sales reports and prepare other weekly reports for management, sales team, and grower review.
· Grower payable reconciliations and review.
· Process payments and settlements to growers and third parties.
· Assist CFO with annual budgeting process including tracking of expenditures.
· Compliance with regulatory requirements associated with the packing and marketing of fresh produce, including communication with regulatory groups.
· Partners with CFO on Prophet ERP to document processes, identify improvements, test of any new development and troubleshoot ERP issues.
· Prepare journal entries by providing and maintaining detail records and files
· Reconcile fruit and packaging inventories, and general ledger accounts monthly.
· Prepare and support internal and external annual audit; timely compliance with all internal and external reporting requirements.
· Plays a key role in month end and year end closing process.
· Special projects, ad-hoc reports, administrative tasks as assigned.
· Other duties and functions as assigned or needed.
Experience and Qualifications Sought Include
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 5 years related experience in grower accounting.
· Working knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
· Previous experience with Prophet ERP, or other systems used in the fresh produce industry, or major accounting software.
· Experience in the fresh produce industry.
· Computer proficiency in Microsoft, Word, and Excel.
· Excellent communication (verbal, written, and interpersonal), analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Exceptional attention to detail with high level of accuracy.
· Aware of the “big picture” while maintaining focus on details.
· Good organization, analytic and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work within a fast-paced team environment, team player.

About This Role
Security Customer Care Associates are responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our employees and customers by actively monitoring the premises to detect and prevent theft or violence. In addition, this role will provide excellent customer service and assist in verifying, identifying and checking in members. Security Customer Care associates will maintain cleanliness throughout the facility and outside the premises while on duty.
Basic Qualifications
BSIS Issued California Guard Card
At least 1-year experience as a security guard or other relevant position
Basic computer and information technology skills
Knowledge of public safety and security procedures

Retail Consultant’s primary responsibility is to serve The Apothecarium’s guests. This role requires nothing less than excellent customer service, total understanding and strict compliance with all medical cannabis regulations and a positive, respectful attitude. Retail Consultants will need to have a thorough understanding of strains, genetics, and relevant medical marijuana terminology and how to help our customers select the cannabis flowers and infused products that are right for them. About This Role
The Inventory Assistant is responsible for executing daily inventory tasks under the guidance of the Inventory Lead in strict compliance with all state laws and standard operating procedures of The Apothecarium. The Apothecarium’s inventory department offers our members a reliable selection of high-quality products in a comfortable, professional setting, where our commitment to sustainable operations is demonstrated by exemplary business practices that protect people and the environment. The Inventory Assistant maintains cycle counts, prepares menus, and responds to requests for product on the dispensary floor at the direction of the Inventory Lead.

Assist with the intake process by checking in deliveries against manifest & invoices to ensure accuracy
Assist with data entry and regular maintenance of products and inventory levels in POS systems
Audit product data and product laboratory test results to ensure accuracy
Conduct daily, weekly and monthly cycle inventory audits
Maintain and cultivate a professional and positive relationship with our vendors
Assist with all inventory receipt, storage and distribution as needed
Execute checks of packaging and labeling for products as needed

Assist with return & exchange logistics with consultants as needed

The Apothecarium, founded in 2011, is a full-service medical and recreational cannabis dispensary with three California locations in San Francisco, and new dispensaries in Berkeley and Capitola opening in 2020. Las Vegas, Pennsylvania and New Jersey are also home to The Apothecarium dispensaries.

About This Role
The Store General Manager brings a culture of competence and compassion to our Dispensary and directs all operations of the dispensary, the team members, the schedule, to ensure the dispensary operations run smoothly. This role requires nothing less than excellent customer service and superb communication skills. The Store Manager interacts with customers and staff in a positive, respectful manner and is expected to act proactively to ensure smooth team operations and effective collaboration.
The Store General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the overall logistics to support the supply chain of all cannabis goods for their Apothecarium location. This position will lead all inventory functions and be responsible for providing hands-on management of all inventory team members. This leader is people-oriented with operational experience and the motivation to develop all team members. In this role you will report to the District Retail Manager, take direction from the Inventory Control Manager, and significant analytical skills and judgement, elevated attention to detail and organizational skills will be required.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree; business or related field preferred
- 5-7 years of retail management and inventory control experience
- 2-3 years of experience leading large retail teams
- Cannabis retail and inventory experience highly preferred
- Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine optimization and improvement techniques
- Solid understanding of inventory control best practices and supply chain management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Relentlessly high standards and sharp attention to details
- Thinks strategically, but stays on top of tactical execution
- Entrepreneur can-do attitude to find ways to break down growth barriers
- Ability to maintain high standards in a fast paced, constantly evolving environment
- Proficiency in Google and Microsoft Office Suites
- Proficiency in METRC cannabis track and trace software
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including occasional evenings, weekends and some holidays to meet the needs of the business
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S., be at least 21 years old and must pass a criminal background check

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Demonstrate and support The Apothecarium’s mission and values
- Support the District Retail Manager in the cohesive and consistent execution of our retail operations and customer service
- Engage to resolve escalated customer interactions and ensure customer concerns are solved efficiently, respectfully and promptly
- Operate in an organization with a lot of stakeholders, rapid pace and constant decision
- Maintain attention and adherence to cannabis retail operation compliance as outlined by the state of California, local municipalities and under the direction of our compliance manager
- Provide employees with guidance and growth opportunities and ensure the store is a positive work environment while maintaining productivity while demonstrating leadership and compassionate management
- Manage, delegate and supervise the duties and productivity of all store departments
- Manage the hiring, training and termination of employees while providing guidance
- Create and implement work schedules that accommodates the needs of the organization and team members
- Support inventory strategies at the direction of the Inventory Control Manager to ensure the appropriate selection of salable products are available at all times
- Supervise cycle counts and maintain inventory balance with METRC California State Track and Trace software monitoring inventory adjustments and associated and resolve any discrepancies
- documentation for accuracy and completion.
- Ensures proper classification and storage of inventory at the retail location.
- Oversee inventory budgets and fulfillment at the direction of the Inventory Control Manager.
- Assist with execution of inventory strategies including forecasting, demand planning, and inventory tracking in a cost-effective manner within compliance requirements.
- Implement marketing and sales plans to appropriately move products in a suitable amount of time
- Ensure all department equipment is functional and maintained
- Open and close the store as needed
- Protect guest, staff and assets from injury damage, or theft through prevention and rapid response
- Support and maintain a functional network within the surrounding community with various entities (e.g., SFPD, District Liaisons, Community Benefit Districts “CBD”, Neighborhood & Merchant associations, etc.) to maintain our status as a well-intentioned and involved organization
- Manage store finances and petty cash and actively monitor the cost of operation and achieve desired sales margins, including partnering with the Operations Department to manage budgets and expenses

Our budtenders are responsible for greeting, inputting customer information into our pos system, assessing the needs of the customer, and educating/guiding them on the benefits and differences of our products, transacting the sale, and leaving the customer informed and satisfied. Inventory Specialist Job Summary
Inventory specialists can expect to work closely with management, help maintain inventory levels for products in back stock, on the sales floor, and merchandise displays.
Other responsibilities include maintaining inventory storage software, ensuring the accuracy of inventory records, organizing and digitizing vendor records, COA’s, and shipping manifests and intake of all deliveries.
Successful inventory specialists should have excellent interpersonal communication skills, a firm grasp of basic computer programs, and an ability to work both independently and in a team. Ideal candidates will have inventory experience as well as extensive knowledge of cannabis and all related cannabis products.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Aiding Buyer in relevant inventory tasks as necessary. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Vendor Relations Management
- Vendor Acquisition
- Maintaining Par Levels
- Cannabis Inventory Intake
- Unpacking and organization of inventory post-Metric and BCC approval
- Price and label inventory for floor displays
- Put the product on floor post-approval for sale
- Product Compliance
- Monitor floor displays
- Filling out of information cards on the sales floor with correct information
- Non-Cannabis Inventory Intake
- Receive invoice and labeled product images from Creative Manager
- Enter invoice information into Blaze to create a purchase order
- Submit purchase order and approve for sale
- Attach product photos to the appropriate item
- Communicate with Creative Manager that items are ready for pricing and display
- Organization and passing off of Certificate of Analysis (COAs) and Shipping Manifests
- Must be grouped by delivery and invoice, and physically placed in the proper location. Must be scanned and organized digitally.
- Proper Inventory Nomenclature
- Ensuring all products are named and categorized properly in Blaze
- Communicate with Marketing Department
- Ensure sufficient stock for vendors during events
- Notify the Marketing department of new products / inventory
- Waste Management
- Proper documentation of cannabis waste (expired product, displays items, returns, used cartridges, defective products)
- Ensure waste is ready for pick up
- Communicate with waste management when the waste bin is mostly full to arrange pickup
Shared Tasks
- Inventory Reconciliation
- Twice a month, physical inventory will be counted and compared to inventory in Blaze
- Once reconciled, submit reconciliation through Blaze and run report for the day
- Export reports to Excel and save on Hook Google Drive
- Report findings to General Manager
Qualifications

- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Experience: At least 1 year of directly related experience and/or training in an inventory, analyst or logistics role or environment, preferably in the cannabis industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have experience working with a high sense of urgency, preferably in a fast-paced work environment. Must have strong attention to detail.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. METRC experience preferred Retail POS experience preferred.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Ability to pass a Live Scan
- Language Skills: Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written, proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
