Budtenders must provide customers with prompt customer service and quality products while maintaining a clean, safe and comfortable store environment.
Budtender Duties and Responsibilities
As a Budtender for Meds Café, you are expected to execute the following duties and responsibilities to the highest standard. Those duties and responsibilities are listed below.
- Responsible for helping customers in accordance with Meds Café’s mission, vision, goals, and objectives.
- Responsible for retail product knowledge to assist customers in making the right choices.
- Meet and exceed sales goals, maintain a regular inventory of products and ensure that the sales floor is adequately stocked.
- Responsible for completing any work assigned to them during their scheduled shift, as well as customer service including: o Answering the phone and greeting customers o Accurately use and maintain the Point of Sale (POS). o Correct cash handling and discount application. o Accurate and timely data entry of customer profiles. o Maintenance of hard copy files (when required). o Verifying proper paperwork, documentation, and ID for customers. o Security measures and safety compliance
o Store organization and cleanliness o Maintain open communication with the management team and other co-workers o Report employee issues or customer situations to management team.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of all strains and products in-store inventory as well as industry-wide product and trend knowledge.
Budtender Qualifications and Skills
- Knowledge and consistent demonstration of excellent customer service.
- Knowledge and adherence to the policies, procedures, and goals of Meds Cafe.
- Ability to listen well and communicate effectively orally and in writing with various audiences.
- Ability to use standard office equipment, computer equipment and software including word processing, data base management, spreadsheet applications and electronic mail.
- Understanding of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations as they pertain to the industry and business.
- Proficient with METRC and other basic software.
- Minimum twenty-one (21) years of age.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license or government Identification (ID).
- Must pass all required background checks.

Salary and Benefits
Hourly base pay will be determined by individuals’ skills and experience. The position is a part-time position. Yearly raises are attainable if individual meets performance standards at yearly review. Additional benefits are available to the employees when they become a full-time employee.

- Implement all operational rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to advance the company’s mission, vision, goals, and objectives.
- Manage, supervise, and direct the sales activities of the stores staff.

A performance bonus will be given at the end of the fiscal year based on sales goals being met and overall performance of individual.
Additional benefits include 48 hours of Paid Time Off (PTO) (after 5 years PTO is increased to 80 hours), and eligibility for Health Insurance.
