Zannah Farms is flower farm located in the Laguna De Santa Rosa near Sebastopol, CA. We grow and sell most of our flowers on site, and sales channels include onsite farm stand, event buckets and arrangements, and some experiences and farm tours. We are a new farm operation established in 2021, so this job can offer a lot of leadership and creative license opportunities to guide and grow the business. Our values include aesthetics, connection, organic and heart. We have a part time designer as a part of the staff.
The Flower Grower plans, directs, coordinates, and performs planting, cultivating, harvesting, design, and market activities to grow and sell flowers and foliage plants.
The entry requirement for this occupation is some higher education or higher qualification or certifications or at least 2 years relevant experience. Flower growing knowledge a must. This is full time year-round job with 6- day work weeks including weekend (it's our busiest days) during the growing season and flexible paid time off during the winter slow period. This is a labor intensive job with lifting and movement as well as organization and planning. Approximate salary $45,000 per annual or estimated $18 to $26 per hour depending on experience and work period.
Responsibilities Include:
- Plans and manages the production and marketing of flowering and foliage plants from soil preparation to harvest taking into account environmental and market factors
- Selects suitable plants and bulbs for growing, harvests crops, grades and stores picked flowers, bunches and packages flowers for market
- Create crop plan, organize, plant and nurture greenhouse seed starts and succession seeds for planting
- Conducts soil analyses, prepares and maintains growing media and sites
- Controls temperature, light, irrigation, and humidity in greenhouses to maintain optimal growing conditions
- Plan, place, and monitor irrigation system for all planting sites
- Maintains crops by planting, weeding, identifying, and treating pests and diseases, de budding, fertilizing and watering plants
- Daily early morning harvest 6 days per week during main growing season
- Maintains and keeps clean farm and nursery buildings, fences, tractor, 4X4, equipment, tools, and water supply systems
- Organizes the sale, purchase and transportation of flowers for events as needed
- Not a must, but would like to have design capability of flower arranging bouquets for delivery and stocking onsite farm stand
- Maintains and evaluates records of farming activities, monitors market activity and plans crop preparation and production to meet contract requirements and market demand
- May select, train, and supervise staff and contractors
- Must have a valid driver license and a good driving record.

Our cannabis dispensary and florist shop is looking for a part time florist (or aspiring florist) to assist our main florist. This position will involve buying and transporting flowers, arranging and wrapping flowers, general maintenance of plants and flowers in the store (proper storage, cleaning, watering, etc.).
The ideal candidate has a passion for flowers and will work well in a fast-paced environment. A successful Florist will need strong communication skills, as well as the ability to take direction and multi-task. We're looking for someone who has experience selling flowers and interacting with customers in person and on the phone.
This position will also require general retail training, POS, customer service, and ability to sell our other products as needed in addition to floral work.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate who loves flowers and working in a vibrant and diverse shop.

McNamara at Sand Point has 2 acres of production greenhouses, retail florist and gift shop, as well as retail garden center and wholesale plant business. In addition to wholesale customers, this location supplies plants and flowers to all of our Indianapolis area stores. The Greenhouse Manager and Assistant Grower heads the responsibility for the success and efficiency of these growing operations.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for the day to day activities that provide the means of producing quality, salable plant products.
- The Manager is responsible for the efficient time management of assigned crews and sets and maintains the pace and quality of work within the daily job assignment.
- Responsible for communicating the crews’ daily activities and progress and tasks completed and work hand in hand with the Head Grower.
- The Manager assists the Head Grower in monitoring and acting upon crop and grounds needs such as water, plant and site weeding needs, insect and disease issues, plant spacing, mechanical and chemical growth control needs, plant fertilization, scouting and application of both pre- and post-herbicide.
- Responsible for the monitoring of all facilities in the growing areas and to report any existing or potential repair issues to the Owner.
- Responsible for the proper unloading and placement of new plant material under the guidance of the Head Grower.
- Responsible for the upkeep, organization, and inventory control of all hand tools and vehicles used in the job function.

Strange’s is seeking a full time Greenhouse Growers for both retail and wholesale operations. A Greenhouse Grower is responsible for the scheduling, tracking and management of a designated section of a wide variety of blooming plants. Hours vary throughout the year based on growing seasons, full time benefits offered, and blooming annual plant knowledge required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Controls plant growth of multiple blooming crops (planting, potting, cutting, spraying, etc)
- Assists in determining the types and quantities of horticultural plants to be grown based on budget and projected sales volume
- Manages the watering and planting of blooming annuals within a designated section
- Works closely with the Wholesale Division Operations Manager or Greenhouse Manager to develop plans for seasonal crops
- Determines plant placement and organization
- Monitors and controls greenhouse environments (i.e. climate control)
- Accurately records production data
- Ensures that all planting meets quality expectations
- Manages chemical planning, application, recording, and inventory alongside other section growers

The Strange’s wholesale greenhouse division is seeking a full time Section Grower. A Section Grower is responsible for the scheduling, tracking and management of a designated section of a wide variety of blooming plants. Hours vary throughout the year based on growing seasons, full time benefits offered, and blooming annual plant knowledge required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Controls plant growth, potting, and cutting plants for sale
- Assists in determining the types and quantities of horticultural plants to be grown based on budget and projected sales volume
- Manages the watering and planting of plants within a designated section
- Develops weekly schedule for the greenhouse staff according to their employment status
- Works closely with the Wholesale Division Operations Manager to develop plans for seasonal crops
- Determines plant placement and organization
- Monitors and controls greenhouse environments (i.e. climate control)
- Accurately records production data
- Ensures that all planting meets quality expectations
- Manages chemical planning, application, recording, and inventory alongside other section growers
- Applies pesticides and growth regulators to crops within a designated area
- Interviews potential employees
- Manages a team of greenhouse workers (training, task delegation, performance documentation etc.)
- Completes additional tasks given by the Wholesale Division Operations Manager
