Who You Are

Job Summary:
The Grower is primarily responsible for the order, cleanliness, and efficiency of warehouse operations by performing labor work duties.
Duties / Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Day-to-day assignments and tasks of the Cannabis production cycle.
- Cloning: cutting and transplanting; watering; labeling.

- Harvest, plant and package plants while ensuring the delivery of high standard produce to the Infarm’s clients with minimal food waste
- Drive to stores and customer locations in your own personal vehicle

As an Infarm Merchandiser you understand the importance of timely delivery of goods and presentation of our in-store merchandise to ensure a fantastic customer experience. You will be cross trained both as a Field Grower and a Merchandiser. Represent Infarm and our mission to store employees and customers. Responsibilities
- Follow the daily delivery schedule and report feedback about health of farms, supplies, and presentation
- Drive a company vehicle and your personal vehicle depending on the shift between our Infarm warehouse location and Infarm client locations to deliver supplies and end products
- Maintain the presentation of our products at our point of sale display ensuring that shelves are clean and fully stocked with the freshest merchandise available
- Regularly clean Infarm point-of-sale boxes at in-store locations
- Apply sanitation treatments to the farms in the stores on a regular basis
- Pick up inventory between warehouse and in-store locations, which includes loading and unloading infarm vehicle
- Ensure the safety of yourself and others by following Health and Safety legislation guidelines
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- One to two years in a retail or customer service environment providing exceptional customer experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent attention to detail, precision and caring for cleanliness
- Proven time management, organizational skills and professionalism
- Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism with a passion for plant growth, sustainability and nutrition
- Flexibility with work hours and to adapt to the needs of the business including the willingness to work on weekends
- Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team
- Experience working in a retail environment or in customer service is an asset
- Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record and ability to drive on behalf of the company using a company car and/or your personal vehicle when scheduled
- Proof of insurance on your own vehicle.

We seek a grower field specialist to support our work with growers producing Soybean and Wheat seed.
This is a full-time permanent position. Hours are primarily Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm with some over time required.
Duties include:
- Conducting field inspections.
- Locating Fields and Creating maps using online mapping software.
- Assisting in the preparation of grower contracts.
- Serve as a primary point of contact between growers and the company.
- Assisting in the creation of the yearly crop plan and matching acres and products to growers.
- Sampling bins at various grower bin sites.
- Delivering conveyors.
- Maintaining various Excel tracking sheets.
- Inputting data into our Vertical scale system.
- Assisting with receiving of loads at the scale-house.
Minimum Qualifications and Competencies Include:
- Microsoft Word; Excel; Outlook.
- Clean driving record.

Responsibilities
- Harvest, plant and package plants while ensuring the delivery of high standard produce to the Infarm's clients with minimal food waste
- Drive to stores and customer locations daily to deliver goods frequently

- Protect the health of the plants by applying basic plant protection measures and keeping the farms clean, in accordance with the highest quality standards

You will assist Vital Farms Growers in all production needs including but not limited to nutrition, light stimulation, pasture rotation, health challenges, cooler temperature regulations and many other essential needs. As the Grower Support Coordinator, you will be a critical resource to our Growers and must visit each farm regularly in addition to being accessible during normal business hours and beyond. PURPOSE:
This position represents Grimmway Farms to outside (contracted) growers and assists in procuring acres, carrot production, coordinating planting and harvesting. This position serves as a liaison between contracted growers and the Grimmway Sales, Production and Grower Accounting Departments.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Coordinate the growing and harvesting of carrots.
- Submit crop estimates and recruit new growers at the direction of Sales and Production Departments.
- Ensure accurate projections and harvest scheduling.
- Ensure harvest timing optimization for maximum quality and yield.
- Daily travel required within Kern and other carrot production regions.
- Interact with other department managers and staff to facilitate the coordination of work.
- Responsible for securing contracts with growers, along with GAP worksheets and Compliance Agreements.
- Remote data entry may be required.
- Adhere to all regulatory and safety guidelines.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to continuously work outdoors all day in various and sometimes extreme weather conditions. Ability to inspect equipment and product. Ability to continuously work with product and equipment at ground level. Ability to work on uneven terrain both on foot and while aboard moving equipment. Ability to get on and off various stationary and moving equipment. Must be able to move items weighing up to 50 lbs.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Four-year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent field experience preferred
- Must demonstrate knowledge of scheduling and executing crop inputs including, but not limited to, planting, cultivation, fertilization, irrigation, harvesting and production

- At least 3 years of agriculture experience preferred.

This Assistant Grower over Field Tree Irrigation position will include some management and all operational tasks involved with installing and maintaining irrigation systems in our 200 acres of field trees. Including designing, improving, and leading many aspect of our irrigation processes. Trees that are grown are sold throughout the intermountain west and beyond for use in landscapes. There are approximately 100,000 field trees in production. Digging approximately 30,000 - 40,000 per year with replanting 40,000 trees each season.
This position would include mostly hands on responsibilities, some management, and oversight for the following areas and others as developed and assigned. The ideal candidate should have educational or past work experience in agriculture irrigation systems.
Position Responsibilities:
- Design, built, and implement proper irrigation systems for the field grown trees
- Use of fertilizer injection methods throughout the growing season
- Using soil probes to determine proper irrigation needs throughout the farm.
- Work closely with Crop Consultants and Lead Growers to determine proper irrigation needs.
- Monitor and control Irrigation parts and tools and inventory of them.
- Use and maintenance of equipment to install mainlines, pipes, and other valves in the irrigation system.
- Coordination with others on new trees being planted each season and irrigation needs.
- Working closely with Lead Growers to eliminate death loss of trees due to irrigation.
- Using the irrigation system for chemigation and resolve nutrient deficiencies in trees.
- Seasonal irrigation crew development and management of employees with assistance of Office Staff.
- Bilingual is a needed. English & Spanish.
- Assist in recruiting and training of new hires each season for irrigation needs.
- Outlining irrigation crew for specific duties and keeping them on task each day.
- Coordinate daily and weekly with the Lead Growers to develop systems, plans and outlines for each season irrigation needs.
- Ordering irrigation supplies in advance and pre-building what can be done.
- Other duties and assisting in other projects as assigned
- Some use of computers may be needed for record keeping and communication needs.

- Work closely with Crop Consultants and Acequia Farm team on all chemicals and applications
- Weed control through various methods
- Inventory management with assistance of Inventory Specialists
- Coordination others on new trees being planted each season
- Working closely with Field Operations Lead Grower to remove dead, dying or diseased trees
- Keeping track of causes of disease or dying trees and work to remedy the issues
- Oversee all irrigation of the plant material at the Farm
- Using the irrigation system for chemigation and resolve nutrient deficiencies in trees
- Crew Development and management of employees with assistance of Office Staff. Bilingual is a plus but not required.
- Assisting in recruiting and training of new hires each season
- Outlining Crews for specific duties and keeping them on task each day
- Coordinating with the Lead Grower over Field Operations and the Office Assistant to insure all tasks are being accomplished
- Assist Office Assistant in the Shipping of outbound B&B Trees as needed

- Ordering certain supplies for many of the projects that are needed
- Other duties and assisting in other projects may be assigned from time to time
- Use of computer will be required: Word, Excel, Outlook, QuickBooks. A custom Inventory Software program will be trained on.

TITLE
Intern, Field Operations & Grower Representative
LOCATION
Oxnard, CA
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following although other duties may be assigned:
- Works closely with processing manager to assure coordination of field fruit deliveries.
- Determine daily crate volume by obtaining early morning on-site ranch estimates. Adjusts estimates throughout afternoon re-check of harvesting ranches. Immediately reports any significant volume changes.
- Obtains, records, and passes information to processing manager and plant manager on probable next day crate volume.
- Advises the plant manager and QC manager immediately when poor quality (soft, catfacing, contamination, etc.) is evident on any particular grower's ranch.
- Works with growers to get harvested freezer fruit delivered to the processing plant and/or receiving station as quickly as possible.
- Ensures proper contact and relationships with the growers.
- Assures that all crates and pallets are distributed to the growers on an as-needed basis to prevent grower stockpiling.
- At season's end, assures all crates and pallets are returned to the Oxnard plant yard for storage, inventory, and repair.
- Obtain pesticide reports from the growers when requested and deliver to the Plant Manager.
- Maintain proper inventories of crate and pallets at receiving stations. Assures crates and pallets are cleaned properly prior to grower distribution.
- Works with Oxnard plant supervisor/office personnel on any grower weight tag/ grading sheet discrepancies. Delivers and explains corrected documentation to the growers.
- Schedule trucking to pick up fruit from the receiving stations for timely delivery to the Oxnard plant.
- Works with our growers to ensure all of their daily deliveries are made early enough to permit same day processing.
- Addresses any and all other concerns/problems as directed by the Plant Manager.
- Works with Oxnard processing manager to establish daily production schedule.
- Coordinates distribution of raw fruit.
- Records yield data from experimental varieties and other research plots.
- Takes fruit samples as needed for lab evaluation.
- Conducts special tests, evaluations, and projects as requested by the QC Manager.
- Visually observes plant development and records.
- Inspects daily and audit grower field Good Agricultural Practices monthly using Field Sanitation Check list. Immediately follows up on deficiencies.
- Other duties as required.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Education
- Be enrolled in a 4-year degree program, Food Science, Logistics or Agri-Business major highly desired
Other
- Available in early April through the end of August.
- Able to work weekends, overtime, and night shifts.
- Excellent communication skills and leadership skills.
- Ability to read, write and speak Spanish highly desired
