Essential Job Functions
- Oversee a team who is passionate about medical marijuana and the service they provide.
- Open and close dispensary and oversee staff pursuant to company policies and operating procedures.

- Become proficient with point of sale system (MJ Freeway)

- Verify patient certifications along with any limitations set forth by the certifying physician

- Must have already completed the Pennsylvania Department of Health 4-Hour CME Course

- Must be able to complete both internal and external background checks, clear of felonies

- Prepares sterile solutions and infusions for use in facilities or patients' homes.
- Works to ensure proper and compliant billing and record keeping of medications dispensed and shipped.
- Oversees proper storage and security conditions for the drugs.
- Oversees ordering, labeling, and counting stock of medications, chemicals, and supplies; and enters inventory data into the computer. Establishes a routine check of expiration dates on stocked drugs. Ensures controlled substance record keeping.
- Receives and stores incoming supplies, verifies quantities against invoices, and addresses stock needs or shortages.
- Prepares and processes medical insurance claim forms and records.
- Oversees Pharmacy Technicians to ensure compliance to company and regulatory guidelines (such as FWA, HIPAA and applicable pharmacy law), quality and efficiency of patient care and continued career development for the technicians.
- Ensures that patient care decisions and actions as well as coding/billing are properly documented using proprietary software system.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Dispensary Pharmacist is a registered Pharmacist who is responsible for providing an outstanding patient experience
while maximizing revenue goals, assisting the General Manager in leading the development of the dispensary staff, and

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:
- Become proficient with the point-of-sale system
- Maintain all confidential information according to HIPAA policies and procedures

- Successful completion of either a BS Pharm or PharmD from an accredited university

The Dispensary Pharmacist will support operations and maintain compliance within the dispensary as it relates to patient intake, certification, and consultation process. This will include providing up to date clinical information, ensuring the patient receives optimal medical care based on their individual case, while adhering to strict state guidelines and regulations. This position will effectively communicate with all levels of the organization to implement and maintain protocols, policies, and procedures in accordance with company standards.
This position will support patients at our Kennett Square dispensary.
Key responsibilities include:
Pharmacist/clinical focus
- Counsel patients based on parameters listed within the physician certification; if no parameters, employ best practice to make the appropriate recommendation to the patient.
- Actively engage in patient care, including resolving patient related conflicts and issues.
- Train staff according to PAOFW guidelines while ensuring compliance with all PA Medical Marijuana Program rules and regulations.
- Conduct ongoing research to expand personal knowledge and education; disseminate information to patients, dispensary personnel, and company leaders as appropriate.
- Annual HIPAA Compliance training required.
- Review and assist in receiving all deliveries with diligence, accuracy, and in accordance with PAOFW as well as state regulations.
- Create effective organization and information gathering for all inventory regarding special patient orders, weekly specials, etc.
- Support nightly and monthly inventory audits in accordance with PAOFW and state guidelines to ensure there is no diversion of inventory; respond to any discrepancies.
- Prepare and effectively lead state inspectors through inspections, both announced and unannounced.
- Maintain all necessary records including, but not limited to, delivery and inventory manifests, nightly and monthly inventory counts, necessary employee and patient/customer information, logbooks, inventory adjustments, destruction reports, etc.
Dispensary operations support
- Under direction from the General Manager, support dispensary operations through the inventory process including receiving shipments, product count and reconciliation, and opening/closing vault as well as opening/closing dispensary as needed.
- Provide education, guidance, mentoring, and feedback to dispensary team members as requested/required.
Non-essential duties and responsibilities
- Communicate with certifying physicians, as needed.
- Take part in PAOFW research opportunities, as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will:
- Be a Registered Pharmacist in the state of Pennsylvania with an active, unrestricted license, in good standing.
- Complete all training required by PAOFW and the PA Department of Health.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Three or more years leadership experience required.
- Two or more years retail management experience preferred.
- Prior experience working in a heavily regulated industry preferred.
- General knowledge of cannabis products and strains is preferred.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and conflict resolution skills.
- Advanced organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated technical aptitude to work with current as well as emerging technologies.
- Working knowledge of inventory and sales reports.

Education/Experience
A dispensary General Manager must have a combination of retail management experience and a background in Pharmacy operations. A Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) is required to understand the day-to-day requirements of the position. Experience in the medical cannabis industry is highly desirable, but not required. Must be 21 years old and pass a criminal background check.

- Conduct patient consultations in a professional, empathetic manner that will include a:
- Review of a patient's diagnosis and symptoms associated with that diagnosis

- Monitoring for potential drug interactions and provide counseling/guidance if appropriate
- Check with a patient's previous experience with cannabis-based medicines
- Discussion about the risks and benefits of marijuana use
- Review of the different modes of delivery
- Brief discussion about the components of cannabis to the patient.
- Recommend appropriate products with appropriate dosing based on the information provided by the patient, caregiver and/or physician.
- Follow up with patients via phone conversations and electronic means to document symptom relief, medication changes, and optimal dosing.

Position Summary/Objective
The Pharmacist is responsible for managing the dispensing of cannabis products to Ethos patients at our dispensary and for providing patients with an excellent customer experience. POSITION SUMMARY
KCR’s Dispensary Pharmacist will assist in providing the best possible experience for patients of the medical marijuana program in Pennsylvania. Pharmacy professionals shall be devoted to the safe, accurate and efficient dispensing of high-quality medical marijuana to qualifying patients, as well as providing patients and caregivers with correct and intelligible medication information. DispensaryPharmacists will help provide leadership and direction to dispensary staff members and be proficient with other dispensary activities as deemed appropriate. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Dispensary Pharmacist’s duties shall include, but not be limited to:
- Establishing a working availability with KCR’s executive team for assistance during times of increased patient volume and company necessity
- Counseling patients on safe, accurate, and effective use of their dispensed medical marijuana
- Assuring the accurate and timely dispensing of medical marijuana products and ancillary equipment

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:

Experience:
At least 2 years of pharmacy practice, including clinical pharmacy, retail pharmacy, and direct patient care. At least 1 year of staffing post residency for those who have completed an ASHP-accreditedPGY1 Residency. Experience with medication reconciliation, medication therapy management and disease state management essential.
Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification:
PharmD preferred; Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy with significant experience also acceptable.Residency training favorable. Active license with PA Board of Pharmacy (in good standing with NO disciplinary action) mandatory. Must pass any and all state and federal background checks.CPR/BLS and ACLS training desired. PA Medical Marijuana 4-hour course completed prior to start date.
Knowledge, Skills, Traits and Abilities:
KCR’s Dispensary Pharmacists will have a strong knowledge of: methods and procedures used in the practice of pharmacy, including chemistry, pharmaceutical calculations and prescription compounding; federal and state laws pertaining to the preparation and dispensing of prescription medication and specifically Pennsylvania law pertaining to the preparation and dispensing of medical marijuana; guidelines for the safe handling, storage and utilization of medical marijuana and associated medical equipment and adjuncts; necessary equipment for proper administering of medical marijuana and pharmacy / dispensary function, and means to obtain and maintain such equipment; software systems utilized for the management of patient data and dispensary inventory.

He/she will be able to both effectively manage and participate in dispensary-related tasks. These individuals will be able to work independently, as well as with a team, and have a high level of organizational skills. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills are necessary. Computer competency and internet navigation skills are also necessary. Pharmacists will be familiar with and understand how to navigate common published drug resources and references, including online resources. Dispensary Pharmacists will have a positive attitude and a consistently high degree of professionalism. They will abide by the highest level of ethical and moral conduct and serve as role models for the dispensary team and all KCR employees. Also, due to the nature of medical practice within dispensary sites, it is also favorable that the individuals serving as Pharmacists be trained and certified in Basic Life Support and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
