Perfect Union/Wild Seed Wellness is the largest cannabis retailer in California. We are founded on the principles of compassion, patient advocacy, education, and community service. As a General Manager, you will plan and direct the day-to-day operations of your store(s). The ideal candidate has management experience in retail, is an experienced leader with business acumen, excels at conflict resolution, is a creative problem solver, and above all else, exhibits high emotional intelligence. In this role, you will develop and present strategies to improve guest experience, drive store sales, and increase profitability. This role is highly collaborative. You will work with Company leadership, peers, trainers, supervisors, and employees to improve productivity while maintaining a compassionate and welcoming environment for our guests. Additionally, you will maintain and improve employee job results by administering disciplinary action, coaching, and performance improvement plans to budtenders and members of management. Must have open availability and be willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays; must be willing to travel 10% of the time.
- Contributes to a positive work environment and guest experience by establishing and enforcing the Company’s culture as well as service and ethical standards.
- Participates in community outreach events, at minimum, once quarterly.

- Identifies current and future guest requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual guests, and other people in a position to understand service requirements.

- Protects employees and guests by providing a safe and clean store environment.
- Maintains operations by enforcing operational and personnel policies/procedures communicated by leadership.
- Maintains stability and reputation of the store by ensuring compliance with all legal, health, and safety guidelines.
- Protects against loss by monitoring security and maintaining security cameras.
- Monitors store budgets, making every effort to maximize efficiency and profits; manages all controllable costs to keep operations profitable.
- Maintains and improves target KPIs.
- Provides feedback and makes recommendations that increase the success of marketing efforts and the effectiveness of current strategies at reaching target markets.
- Schedules and leads quarterly staff meetings to discuss updates, areas of opportunity, feedback, and to create solutions for issues that come up within the Company’s operations.
- Document and provide employee, business, and expense reports to appropriate departments.
- Conducts group interviews to hire and retain the most qualified candidates.
- Facilitates employee terminations when necessary.
- Tours the sales floor regularly and often, talking to colleagues and guests to identify/resolve issues and any improvements that can be made to sales methods, merchandising, and operational efficiency.
- Works, at minimum, 8 hours per week on the sales floor.
- Hosts and supports in-store community outreach events, demos, and educational/community classes.
- Collaborates with Community Outreach to identify potential opportunities and partnerships within the community.
- When necessary, communicate and coordinate with HR and the Union regarding employee incidents.
- Submits HR-related paperwork (e.g. PAFs) in a timely manner, and in accordance with Company policies.
- Ensures weekly payroll is submitted accurately and in accordance with the Company’s policies.
- Ensures floor schedules remain within payroll budget, and that they are issued in a timely manner.
- Resolves guest concerns quickly.
- Executes in-store merchandising in accordance with directives from senior management.
- All other duties as assigned.
