The schedule for this position will be Sunday - Thursday.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sample receipt, accessioning and storage.
- Familiarity/compliance with the chain-of-custody process.
- Familiarity/compliance with personal protective equipment and its use for safety and in the prevention of cross-contamination of collected samples.
- Assisting scientific staff with sample preparation for analysis.
- Assisting scientific staff with ensuring test results are reported through the laboratory information management system to clients, government agencies and other involved or mandated parties.
- Assisting with maintenance of laboratory records and documentation.
- Assisting clients, government agencies and other involved or mandated parties with requests related to laboratory testing or results.
- Assisting with meeting accreditation requirements.
- Assisting with research or inquiries as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a laboratory science.
- One years’ experience in an analytical or academic laboratory setting.
- Familiarity with data entry and throughput.
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems.
- Familiarity with accreditation and regulatory processes.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS PACKAGE:

As a growing company, we are looking for a full-time laboratory scientist with chemistry/toxicology experience to perform instrumental testing of cannabis products (plants and consumables) at our laboratory located in Lansing, MI.
The schedule for this position will be Monday through Friday.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sample receipt, accessioning and storage.
- Conducting government-mandated and client-requested product testing, including but not limited to cannabinoid, chemical, microbial and metal content.
- Review and reporting of test results through the laboratory information management system to clients, government agencies and other involved or mandated parties.
- Assisting where necessary of validation, review and updating of Laboratory SOP's.
- Collecting and reviewing applicable quality control data.
- Maintenance of current scientific knowledge in the areas of drug chemistry and toxicology.
- Serve as a resource for scientific knowledge in the area of drug chemistry and toxicology.
- Serve as a resource for scientific and technical expertise for clients, government agencies and peers.
- Assisting with research and method development as needed.
- Training of laboratory personnel as applicable to ensure understanding of and adherence to SOPs.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a laboratory science.
- Two years experience in an analytical laboratory setting
- Experience with analysis of pesticides, cannabinoids, solvents and/or metals
- Familiarity with food safety testing and requirements
- Experience with HPLC, GC, GC/MS and/or LC/MS/MS
- Experience with preparation of samples from diverse matrices
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems
- Familiarity with accreditation and regulatory processes
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS PACKAGE:

2. Assisting scientific staff with ensuring that test results are accurate and reliable.
3. Reporting of results through the laboratory information management system to clients, government agencies and other involved or mandated parties.
4. Assistance in the maintenance of laboratory records and documentation.
5. Assisting clients, government agencies and other involved parties with requests related to laboratory testing or results.
6. Assistance in meeting quality expectations and accreditation requirements.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in a laboratory science.
2. One-year minimum experience in an analytical or academic laboratory setting.
3. Knowledge/Experience with microbiological contaminants in plants and foods such as quantitation of viable aerobic bacteria, total coliforms, bile-tolerant gram-negative bacteria, E. coli (pathogenic stains) and Salmonella spp., and yeasts and molds (including Aspergillus spp.).
4. Familiarity with microbiological testing techniques such as qPCR is highly desirable. Familiarity with other instrumental analytical techniques (such as GC/MS) are a plus but not required.
5. Familiarity with data entry and throughput.
6. Familiarity with laboratory information management systems.
Familiarity with accreditation and regulatory processes.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Associate Degree
- Previous support of Executive level staff
- Advanced knowledge of the MS Suite and document management software.
- Ability to work independently with high degree of autonomy and accountability.

- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS PACKAGE:

REPORTS TO: Field Operations Supervisor
The mission of Viridis Laboratories is to ensure health and safety within the cannabis industry by testing cannabis products for potency and purity, and to report results of this testing to consumers, manufacturers and regulatory agencies. As a growing company, we are looking for a full-time technician with laboratory experience in random sampling protocols, sample intake, sample tracking and sample storage at our laboratory facility located in the Lansing, Michigan area. Michigan is a medical-marijuana state.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sample collection, receipt, accessioning and storage.
- Familiarity/compliance with the chain-of-custody process.
- Familiarity/compliance with personal protective equipment and its use for safety and in the prevention of cross-contamination of collected samples.
- Assisting scientific staff with ensuring test results are reported through the laboratory information management system to clients, government agencies and other involved or mandated parties.
- Assisting with maintenance of laboratory records and documentation.
- Assisting clients, government agencies and other involved or mandated parties with requests related to laboratory testing or results.
- Assisting with meeting accreditation requirements.
- Assisting with research or inquiries as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Associate's degree or higher.
- One years’ experience in an analytical or academic laboratory setting and/or two years' experience in relevant industry.
- Familiarity with data entry and throughput.
- Familiarity with accreditation and regulatory processes preferred but not required.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS PACKAGE:
Salary negotiable and commensurate with experience and education (range $17.00 - $23.50/hour). This position is eligible for a matching 401K program and health care benefits.
