Territory Sales Executive

The Territory Sales Executive will drive sales by establishing and cultivating retail relationships in their given territory. An understanding of the cannabis industry and the competitive landscape, regulatory requirements, as well as the ability to develop relationships and provide excellent support to accounts, is essential for success in this role. Sales Execs with prior contacts in the industry will have the most success in this position. The sales process includes making initial contact, signing new accounts, building account relationships, and generating revenue through sales. The Sales Exec will spend the majority of time making outside sales calls with some administrative tracking and reporting, as required.

Compensation:
Compensation is commission-based and determined by a candidate’s qualifications & experience, with full sales & marketing support while the Executive builds their book of business. Sales Executives who meet sales quota can expect to earn over $150k in total compensation.
Field Sales Responsibilities:
- Open new accounts and grow existing accounts
- Meet or exceed monthly revenue goals
- Generate qualified leads by means of web research, attending expos, events, networking, etc.
- Identify key decision makers (buyers, owners, budtenders, inventory managers) and build strong relationships with them
- Pitch brand portfolio and close accounts
- Assess customer needs, answer questions and assist with the ordering process.
- Grow current accounts by introducing additional product offerings as they become available.
- Gather info for in-store activation opportunities (marketing, store within store, slotting, etc.) and escalate for approval
- Track key interactions and feedback via CRM software and weekly meetings
- Provide marketing, sales and display collateral to support customer sales.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams in order to deliver orders to new and existing clients on an agreed upon timeline.
- Take brands into the field and introduce them to retailers and key decision makers to facilitate high-level partnerships.
- Strike a balance between good customer service and sustainable business practices.
Qualifications/Other:

- 3-5 years experience selling business to business within the cannabis industry

What You'll Do:
Operations Supervision
- Lead the fulfillment operations and team day to day as well as continuous improvement and change management as we scale and grow.
- Forecast labor needs and build processes and systems to improve labor efficiency for all department activities.
- Develop partnerships and serve as the operational key contact with significant suppliers; manage 3PL vendors.
- Ensure high customer experience across all fulfillment activities, utilizing feedback from Sales, Marketing and other depts.
- Build plans to optimize space, processes and systems to improve fulfillment operations
- Help identify, explore and implement appropriate automation and systems that enable our process and people to appropriately scale.
- Spearhead implementation of vendor compliance policies and procedures; ensure regulatory compliance.
Fulfillment & Inventory Management
- Hire, manage & develop all operations personnel to support a strong team culture to meet goals.
- Ensure that customer, store and wholesale distributions are picked and shipped with high accuracy, quality, and speed.
- Develop, standardize and iterate business processes, best practices, and other documentation across the team and with key partners (factory, production, wholesale, international, etc).
- Oversee finished goods inventory and all aspects of receiving, shipping, and returns for all imports, exports, drop shipments, corporate shipments, and 3PL.
- Support retail operations related to inventory receiving, control, and movements.
- Support our production team with the receiving.
Cost Management
- Lead the budget creation, management, reporting and communication that provides visibility and guidance for operations team and leadership.
- Manage third-party partnerships to minimize expense and receive world-class service (i.e., 3PL, transportation, material handling, repair, and equipment maintenance).
- Manage operations budget, and initiatives to maintain ship speed and quality while reducing costs.
- Ensure efficient utilization of space, equipment and teams.
Business Systems
- Support our distribution systems (ERP, WMS, Distru, LeafLink etc) and business system updates cross-functionally; serve as a key stakeholder and operational expert for the engineering team on scoping and implementation of new systems.
- Gather requirements and business systems are customized for operations team needs.
- Identify opportunities for systems improvement and enhancements and partner with management to scope, build and implement.
What You'll Need:
- 5+ years of experience in operations.
- Working knowledge of cannabis distribution operations, inventory, receiving, and order processing.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts related to project evaluation, financial forecasting, return on investment, etc.
