The Department of School of Nursing and Health Studies has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Research Assistant to work in Coral Gables campus. The Research Assistant will assist the Principle Investigator and the research activities on the Cannabis Health and Fitness Laboratory Research Team. The incumbent will support recruitment and retention research activities and research assessment activities for the cohort study “Effects of Cannabinoids on Subclinical Cardiovascular Disease Risk” among 18-34 year olds.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with recruitment and retention of 18-34 year old cannabis consumers
- Screening and schedule participants
- Communicate with local cannabis dispensaries
- Assist in preparation of study updates.
- Assist in implementation of quality assurance procedures
- Assist in screening, consenting, and assessment of study participants.
- Consent and complete assessments
- Ensure biospecimens are delivered to the proper locations after assessment.
- Communication with clinical partners
- Assist with recruitment and retention of 18-34 year old cannabis consumers
- Assist in preparation of study updates.
- Assist in implementation of quality assurance procedures
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience

The Research Assistant supports COVID-19 pandemic-related research activities under the direction of the principal investigator of the COVID-19 Cannabis Health Study. The Research Assistant will play a central role in the organization and management of research-related data, documentation, and quality assurance.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine data review to ensure data quality. Ensures data completeness, correctness, and consistency.
- Prepare data for statistical analysis.
- Create and maintain up-to-date data and database documentations (e.g. data dictionaries)
- Assist in preparation of research proposals.
- Understand and interpret research protocols and procedures.
- Develop and maintain reporting needs and/or other requirements as established by the IRB, and HSRO.
- Assists the PI to ensure all research is undertaken according to good research practice.
This position requires 20 hours per week

- Electronically recruit 15-24 year olds in Florida, New York, Texas, North Carolina, and Louisiana.
- Electronically retain recruited participants to complete second assessment
- Conduct literature reviews relevant to recruitment practices
- Maintain accurate records of questionnaires using REdCap
- Manage and respond to project related communications
- Assist with data dissemination via manuscripts, presentations, and posters.
- Assists the PI to ensure all research is undertaken according to good research practice.
This position requires 20 hours per week minimum
