Position Summary
To spearhead the organization and function of all aspects of the inventory control system (proper ordering, rotating, storing, tracking, and tag maintenance) in the Dispensary, as well as providing quality service to students, faculty and staff in the dispensing of instruments, equipment and materials used in providing patient care, in a knowledgeable and professional manner.
Essential Duties
1. Properly maintain inventory of all instruments, materials, supplies and equipment in the Corktown Dispensary by utilizing inventory tags and other tracking systems (i.e.: utilizing reservoir kits for crown forms, posts, endo files and points, implant components, etc…), to accurately keep tabs on usage levels and place any/all orders, as needed.
2. Participate in all other aspects of the Dispensary’s duties, including but not limited to, distributing, collecting, scanning, sorting, re-building, washing, wrapping and sterilizing instruments, handpieces, cassettes and other armamentaria, as needed.
3. Assist in setting up carts and tables when needed for department, clinical and/or competency/testing needs.
4. Perform all duties while following UDM policies/protocols, as well as HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control policies/guidelines.
5. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience with purchase requisitions, electronic ordering and inventory control systems required.
Competent with computer data entry and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) software required.
Working knowledge of dental instruments, materials, and supplies required.
Preferred Qualifications
Some college coursework preferred.
Must demonstrate competent and professional verbal communication skills and the ability to work well independently and within a team.
Must be dependable, professional, self-motivated, flexible and able to work in an ever changing environment.
Previous experience with disinfection and sterilization processes preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Demonstration of quality customer service skills.
Ability to take direction and complete tasks thoroughly and accurately, and be open/flexible to changes.
Physical Requirements
Must have the ability to distinguish unique dental instruments and their care and maintenance with adequate training.
Must be able to lift and carry 10 lbs consistently throughout the work day.
Must be able to move freely thoughout the work area from station to station and perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Work Environment
Environment requires working with large equipment which creates steam under pressure.
Requires servicing a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff.
Salary/Pay Information
Licenses/Certifications
Must have current BLS, HIPAA and OSHA certificates, or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
Must have Hepatitis B, Tetanus, Tuberculosis vaccines/tests or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
Anticipated Work Schedule
Monday – Friday 8:30a-5:00p but may vary with needs of the clinics, possibly including some weekends.

Position Summary
To assist the Dispensary manager during regular business hours and in the absence of the manager with daily operations, thereby providing excellent service to students, faculty, and staff in all matters relative to instruments, equipment, supplies, and materials used in quality patient care in all clinics.
Essential Duties
- Continually communicate and exemplify the UDM Mission Statement in all actions and decisions so that all are reminded of the University’s mission. (100% of the time)
- Participate in the distribution, collection, and sterilization/disinfection of cassettes and kits from students and clinic departments, when needed and time allows. (50 %)
- Assist in the implementation, coordination, and monitoring of work practices, changes, and new projects in the Dispensary, as directed, and keep supervisor abreast of progress, suggesting any adjustments needed. (20 %)
- Participate in management meetings keeping supervisor informed of departments’ progress, problems, and concerns. (5%)
- Continually encourage good customer service, teamwork, and good communication with all Dispensary staff. (5%)
- Assist in the supervising and tracking of all maintenance issues, including but not limited to washers, autoclaves, incubators, handpieces, Sharps, suctions/traps, and small units within the department. (10%)
- Demonstrate and encourage the correct adherence to all OSHA, HIPAA guidelines and all UDM infection control policies and procedures. (10%)
- Perform other job related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school
Two years to five years
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Required:
Strong dental background
Minimally 4 years of similar experience in leadership and managing people
Knowledge of dental inventory control system
Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
Experience in using pass-through autoclaves, dental washer units, and handpiece lubrication units, a plus
Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the university for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
Physical Requirements
Job requires repetitively lifting light weight objects where frequent bending or stooping alternates with lighter activities.
Work Environment
Occasional exposure to objectionable conditions or variations such as those found in variable weather conditions or light industrial settings.

Required:
Must be a Certified Registered Central Service Technician, or obtainable within one year
CPR, or attainable within 30 days
