The Fire Station (TFS) operates as a series of Marijuana Retail Facilities within the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. TFS holds valid state and municipal operating licenses and strives to exceed compliance standards at the highest level. Beginning in 2019 with less than ten employees, our business is now growing rapidly and welcomes new employees who are interested in a career in the cannabis industry. As a Marijuana Retail Facility, our operations involve welcoming customers 21 + years of age into our facility to view and purchase high quality marijuana products. A team of employees all work together to provide customers with top notch customer service and cannabis knowledge to aid them in their cannabis experience.
Job Title: General Manager
RolesThe general manager has authority over the finished product, from orchestrating product orders and shipments to importing inventory as it arrives in the facility, to accounting for cash at the end of the day. The general manager oversees the entire in store operations and performance of staff. General Manager works alongside assistant managers, directing and issuing responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for basic level oversight of staff both when the general manager is present, and when they are gone.
- Assistant managers are keyholders to open the facility if a general manager is not present
- Handling customer disputes; approving of unique/mistake transactions
- Be prepared and capable of performing general managerial duties in case GM is not present
- Directly report to the general manager and report any updates, incidents, or concerns that they may have while working on the sales floor and reception area.
- Enforce company policies, rules and expectation amongst staff throughout operational hours
- Directly enforce and monitor the completion of staff duties and checklists
- Directly involved in staff training and development

To operate in compliance with such rules and regulations, employees are required to follow all policies created and enforced by and within TFS facilities. Employee actions must follow these policies as soon as they walk into the facility.

Curbside pickup is a service that has developed at TFS in Negaunee as a result of COVID19, where customers were not permitted entry inside the building to make their purchases. Curbside employees successfully communicate with the incoming customers about products, purchases and online/phone orders. Curbside employees are essentially the running budtenders that deliver information to and from the customers, working with the budtenders inside the building to gather products for customers and complete sales transactions.
Responsibilities:
Employees working curbside pickup are responsible for having a more in-depth knowledge of cannabis in general, cannabis products that TFS carries and pricing of products in order to help new and returning customers decide what they want to purchase. Curbside is responsible for obtaining IDs and cash from all customers, finding the order that is packed in the bud room, handing the cash and ID to the budtender and finally bringing the order, ID and change back out to the customer.
Relationships:
Curbside employees communicate with the customers, with each other, the receptionist, the budtenders, security and managers regarding status of the customers.
