We are fun, fast-paced, creative and our goal is to The Corner Emporium (“The Corner”) is a new entrant to the Massachusetts cannabis industry, scheduled to open its first adult use dispensary in Worcester, Massachusetts in early Fall 2022. The Corner is a CCC certified economic empowerment company with strong ties to the Worcester community, and is backed by seasoned cannabis industry operators and investors. Position Summary: The Corner is looking for a self-motivated, success driven individual to join the Corner’s senior management team and lead the operation of its first cannabis dispensary in Worcester, Massachusetts (“Store”). The VP, General Manager position will be responsible for the day-to-day operations at The Corner including staffing, training, scheduling, buying, visual merchandising, cash management, inventory management, and compliance adherence. The ideal candidate will also take an active role in pre-opening activities related to the final licensing, store concept implementation and menu curation. This position requires competence in a fast-paced environment, strong leadership skills, and the ability to effectively interact with consumers and other members of the Corner Team to ensure a positive culture and the best possible consumer experience for our clientele.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Pre-Opening Activities

• Refine and implement the Corner’s standard operating procedures (SOPs) for store operations and compliance with CCC regulatory requirements and reporting
• Develop and manage the Corner’s staffing plan, establish hiring guidelines and develop training programs to support store operations
• Oversee integration of all systems and software programs supporting store operations (e.g. POS solutions, seed to sale reporting, etc.)
• Assist Senior Management team in completing final licensing efforts with the CCC including Post Provisional inspection and final license
• Work with senior management to curate menu offerings, establish procurement procedures and buying and digital set-up of menu (via Green Screens or similar).

Dispensary Operations

• Lead, mentor, motivate, elevate and inspire a team through training and performance reviews to ensure the company’s culture and expectations are met and exceeded
• Train store staff by reviewing, revising and implementing training materials; delivering training sessions; understanding the staff needs of the store and build depth on the bench to ensure all Company initiatives can be expedited with ease
• Manage all cash handling and reconciliation within the dispensary including accurate cash deposits and financial reporting. Ensure cash outs, bank records, and deposits are accurate and executed according to The Corner policies and procedures
• Perform daily inventory audits and record daily and monthly category sales and ensure accuracy at all times
• Monitor all sales, inventory, and personnel data and send daily reports to the Executive team
• Oversee End of Month inventory reconciliations and report any discrepancies in real-time
• Ensure accuracy for all cash handling in the front of house and back of house
• Effectively and diplomatically handle employee or customer concerns and complaints
• Develop strong vendor relationships and monitor, manage, and maintain proper inventory levels
• Assist Executive/Marketing team with Marketing efforts, including Social and vendor software outlets.
• Abide by all local and state cannabis regulations.
• Evaluate competition by visiting competing stores; gathering information such as style, quality, and prices of competitive merchandise
• Receive deliveries, build purchase orders, and maintain accurate records

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Management,

Business or a related field, is preferred

• Must have [3+] years management experience working in cannabis, retail, restaurant or similar client facing business operations.
• Experience managing teams of 10 or more individuals with layers of leadership, preferably in a high-volume locations with a focus on team development
• Must have [1+] years of CCC regulated cannabis experience (medical and/or adult use preferred) with expertise in CCC regulations and ongoing licensing and renewal process, including Diversity requirements and PIP Plans.
• Direct experience and expertise with Metrc one or more Seed-to-Sale software platforms and online ordering platforms, such as Dutchie
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays; May be requested to work additional time, as business demands require.
