Role Overview
Asceend is looking for a Full Charge Bookkeeper with at least three to five years of demonstrable and verifiable Quickbooks experience. Jr. Bookkeeper responsibilities include keeping financial records updated, preparing reports, and making basic reconciliations. You will use Quickbooks online daily to process business transactions for a variety of entities and projects. The ideal candidate also has an intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, and have a strong fundamental knowledge of GAAP and how to implement them in a cannabis business environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department – assist with preparing financial statements for Accountant review
- Enter daily key data of financial transactions (all bank, credit card, invoices for multiple entities) into company databases.
- Day to day maintenance and organization of receipts, financial records, and transactions.
- Organize company files and documents in Google Drive
- Daily maintenance and oversight of multiple bank accounts, credit card accounts and transactions, and various Cash on Hand (COH) ledgers
- Organize & Process Accounts Payable and Receivable
- Organize & Process Cash Receipts
- Organize & Process Payroll, Utilities, and other
- Perform reconciliations with payments, deposits, and bank statements to ensure the general ledger account balance is accurate and complete.
- Maintain an accurate process and classification systems with particular attention paid on accurate coding, dating, classification, and other transactional details.
- Assist with the Input, adjustment and maintenance of accounting journal entries,
- Ensure all account records, statements, ledgers and financial activities are properly recorded and maintained at all times for Accountant and Controller use.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strongly Preferred: BS in Accounting or Finance (AA Considered with Verifiable Experience)
- Strong ability to apply GAAP to day-to-day cannabis business activities.
- Understand how microtransactions will fit into the larger picture & macro-reports.
- Must possess intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks Online.
- The ability to handle multiple interrelated tasks at once.
- Strong independent and coordinated reasoning, judgement and decision-making skills; able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
- An impeccable command of both spoken and written English.
- The ability to communicate effectively with a variety of teams to achieve complex, companywide goals.
- Critical thinking skills and the desire to continually improve Bookkeeping Processes.
- Flexibility to work extra hours when needed.
- Punctual and dependable.
- Identify where processes can be improved and finding ways to add value whenever possible.
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
Physical Qualifications – These qualifications are required in order to successfully complete the job duties of the position.
- Ability to lift 40lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the facility for an entire shift.

Role Overview

This position will work closely with the Purchasing Manager to create actionable insights using retail sales data and other forms of syndicated and internal data. This role will make a real impact on in-store execution, providing recommendations to team members up and down the chain of command. Responsibilities
- Help maintain current daily, weekly, and monthly analysis projects in a timely manner, performing updates to ensure accuracy.
- Create meaningful reports from existing systems; accurately collect and analyze data for various types of business reports from Meadow and METRC.
- Identify and extrapolate data promptly and precisely to answer business requests as needed.
- Assist cross-functional partners with ad-hoc reporting.
- Coordinate skill, with the ability to multi-task, in supporting various departments (Marketing,
Sales, Planning, and Finance) in reaching their goals through analysis.
- Communicate data analysis results to management with excellent written and verbal presentation skills.
- Throughout all of these functions, assess and offer ideas in streamlining the data retrieval/manipulation process.

Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for a Master Grower to oversee our cannabis production. It is an opportunity for you to join a thriving business in a blooming industry.
As a master grower, you will ensure we grow different strains properly, and you will identify and resolve issues with plants and manage budgets. You should have a hands-on approach with good knowledge of cannabis genetics and growth requirements. Your goal will be to ensure we satisfy our customers with high-quality marijuana products.
Responsibilities
- Oversee cannabis crops and facilities
- Develop cultivation plans and assign duties
- Organize and document the daily process of transplanting, cloning, defoliation and trimming of plants
- Ensure that growth requirements of cannabis plants are consistently met (lighting, soil PH, nutrients, etc.)
- Apply indoor farming methods that increase our yields
- Lead maintenance operations (including disposing waste and preventing contaminations)
- Diagnose and resolve plant health issues like mold, mildew or other infestations
- Ensure legal compliance of cultivation procedures
- Manage inventory and budgets related to marijuana farming (including equipment, security and HVAC systems)
- Supervise and coach employees who tend to the plants (e.g. cannabis trimmers)
- Inspect quality of harvest
Requirements
- Proven experience as a grower, preferably at a large scale; some management experience required
- Knowledge of the entire cannabis growth cycle and requirements
- Familiarity with environment protection practices and the marijuana legal framework in our area
- Understanding of pest and disease management techniques
- Willingness to continue learning about horticulture and cannabis farming, and stay on top of current and future trends
- Problem-solving aptitude
- Leadership and people management skills
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job
- Degree in Botany, Biology, Agriculture, Horticulture or relevant field is a plus
