Job Description – Cultivation Team Member (Field & Crop Care)

What will you do? As a Cultivation Team Member (Field & Crop Care) you will be a crucial component of the seed to flower process that will be highly impacted and dependent on the proper fertilization, irrigation and crop care executed by this role.
Taiana’s Cultivation Team Member is responsible for the day to day implementation of all agricultural practices needed for the healthy development of the crop life cycle to harvest; supports daily agricultural practices to ensure the standard of nutrition that are individual and unique according to the soil, the strain, the growing phase of the plant and many other factors; take readings of parameters like salinity, pH, soil moisture, soil temperature and any other key metrics; ensure the irrigation system operates in optimum conditions; support soil preparation; assist the Cultivation Manager in special projects; ensure that standards are met in accordance with parameters accordance with Taiana SOP’s.
In simple terms, you are a key contributor to the growth of a beautiful and healthy Lajas Valley sun kissed flower.

Responsibilities:
- Executes daily field and crop care activities assigned by priority level.
- Assists in the soil and nutrient management: soil testing, analysis and amendments.
- Assist in the implementation of the crop nutrient plan.
- Completes irrigation tasks according to the irrigation schedule.
- Supports the maintenance and upkeep of department equipment.
- Enters daily crop data and key observations to the enterprise resource planning system.
- Operates farming equipment as needed.
- Monitors and maintains department inventory of fertilizers, irrigation components and special equipment, replacements, and others.
- Conducts repairs and maintenance of the irrigation, plumbing and pump system.
- Demonstrates a high level of confidentiality.
- Actively communicates with Team Leader and other team members.
- Models positive interpersonal and team working skills.
- Executes responsibilities in adherence to federal and local Puerto Rico cannabis rules and regulations, as well as policies and procedures set forth by Taiana management team.
- Collaborates and participates in special team projects as needed.
Skills & Experience:
Requirements
- Cannabis cultivation experience is not required.
- Able to obtain or already possess an Occupational Cannabis License with Puerto Rico Department of Health https://licenciacannabis.salud.gov.pr/.
- Minimum 21 years of age per Puerto Rico regulations.
- Basic proficiency with computers, smartphones or tablets.
- Able to work under exposure to outdoor conditions in tropical weather conditions: sun, high humidity, heat index, occasional wind gusts, pollen, and dust.
- Positive attitude that supports a team environment, collaboration, and respect.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in Agronomy (Crop Science, Plant Science, or Horticulture) -OR- 1-2 years of hands-on cannabis agriculture experience.
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Good active listening.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.

What will you do?
As a Sales Representative you will serve as Taiana’s primary liaison to our medical cannabis wholesale clients. You will be responsible for prospecting and closing new business via cold-calling, in-store presentations, participation in industry trade shows and networking events, as well as nurturing client relationships, educating clients on our products, and ensuring that everyone that experiences our product has a positive experience.

This is a self-directed role where you will be aware of your goals, objectives, and company expectations. You will have the opportunity to self-direct your efforts to meet your key performance indicators. It is expected that you will spend an average of 80% of your time visiting clients and prospective clients. The right candidate for this position will be an out of the box thinker that is able to establish long lasting relationships with our clients by providing first-class service and delivering the best sun grown medical cannabis products in the island.

Responsibilities:
- Develops and executes sales strategy.
- Maintain expert-level knowledge on our full product catalog and market trends in the industry.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and protect company intellectual property.
- Execute effective daily visits to dispensaries, understand customer needs, and make sales presentations.
- Ensure clients inventory replenishment is timely and accurate.
- Focus on acquiring and maintaining leadership “share of shelf” and “share of voice” in dispensaries.
- Reviews client dispensaries to ensure compliance with agreed co-op marketing programs.
- Set up meetings with dispensary purchasing managers and owners via face-to-face visits, cold-calling, email and social media outreach.
- Follow-up with prospective accounts via phone, email and SMS to stay connected and close new business.
- Utilize customer-focused, consultative sales processes to educate prospects on what products will best fit their needs.
- Continuously executes and communicates strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats analysis to redesign and implement strategies as needed.
- Ensure clients are serviced properly and that financial transactions are properly completed.
- Ensure effective and professional communication with clients and key team members alike.
- Ensure active communication with key departments and functions to ensure a smooth transaction and top service to our clients.
- Assume ownership of the supply chain process by staying in regular communication with clients and the warehouse fulfillment team to ensure deadlines are met.

Skills & Experience:
Required:
- Experience: 3 or more years of experience in a similar or equivalent role dealing with door to door sales.
- Proven track record of developing sales strategies, building new businesses, and meeting/exceeding quotas.
- Proficient technical skills including using MS Office, Google Suite, and CRM software. Ability to learn new software as needed.
- Well developed positive interpersonal and team working skills.
- Ability to learn and stay knowledgeable about cannabis industry trends.
- Ability to work both independently and in teams.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, a reliable vehicle, insurance, and a clean driving record (this position will require significant local travel).
- Must have the ability to work independently with minimum supervision and high levels of expectations.
- Responsibility and accountability (you must take ownership of your accounts and all issues related to them).
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet client needs.
- Must be 21 years of age, to qualify for an Occupational Cannabis License with Puerto Rico Department of Health https://licenciacannabis.salud.gov.pr/.
Preferred:
- Prior experience in the cannabis industry is highly preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Great customer service skills and able to influence others; a patient attitude, a friendly disposition, and a willingness to go the extra mile for our clients.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base salary of $36,000 per year plus bonus and uncapped commissions.
