Responsibilities:
- Ensures accurate, efficient, timely and compliant medication distribution and fulfillment for patients.
- Provides timely final approval for dispensed prescriptions assuring the correct drug, dosage form, quantity, days’ supply, number of refills and packaging is dispensed to the correct patient and within guidelines. Responsible for proper labeling and warnings as well as verifying appropriate directions for use per prescription.
- Oversees operation of machines that sort, dispense and label medications, and verifies the results of their operations.
- Assures the delivery method selected with properly identified delivery location (center or home).
- Plans, implements, and maintains procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals, according to policy and legal requirements, to ensure quality, security, and proper disposal.
- Compounds and dispenses medications as prescribed by doctors and dentists, by calculating, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients, or overseeing these activities.
- Prepares sterile solutions and infusions for use in facilities or patients' homes.
- Works to ensure proper and compliant billing and record keeping of medications dispensed and shipped.
- Oversees proper storage and security conditions for the drugs.
- Oversees ordering, labeling, and counting stock of medications, chemicals, and supplies; and enters inventory data into the computer. Establishes a routine check of expiration dates on stocked drugs. Ensures controlled substance record keeping.
- Receives and stores incoming supplies, verifies quantities against invoices, and addresses stock needs or shortages.
- Prepares and processes medical insurance claim forms and records.
- Oversees Pharmacy Technicians to ensure compliance to company and regulatory guidelines (such as FWA, HIPAA and applicable pharmacy law), quality and efficiency of patient care and continued career development for the technicians.
- Ensures that patient care decisions and actions as well as coding/billing are properly documented using proprietary software system.
- Provides reports and analysis to management as requested as necessary to monitor and improve patient care and center operations.
- Works with software developers/IT team as needed to help identify system enhancements that will improve automation/efficiencies.
Education:
BS in Pharmacy
Licensing/Certification:
Must have an active CA pharmacist license in good standing.
Experience & Training:
2+ years’ experience in pharmacy distribution and packaging, with at least some exposure to geriatrics/chronic care preferred.
Specific Skills:
Strong analytical skills and good clinical judgment.

Under the direction of the COO or Pharmacist in Charge, the distribution Pharmacy Technician is responsible for preparing, filling and distributing prescriptions according to client orders/specifications, maintaining equipment and inventory in the pharmacy and record keeping related to patient and drug information:
- Receives electronic prescriptions, weekly batches or refill requests and accurately and efficiently fills the prescriptions under the direction of the Pharmacist. Performs pharmacy tasks such as handling, counting, mixing and packaging medications.
- Is responsible for selecting and importing orders for automation equipment dispensing, printing labels, and order management required to dispense prescriptions. Operates and monitors robotic machines that dispense mediations.
- Assists in entering minor edits to record correct dispensing quantity and manufacturer NDC used to dispense prescription order.
- Prepares blister packs.
- Prepares and stages pharmaceutical supplies and drugs in the correct bins for delivery.
- Performs reclamation duties.
- Uses pharmacy software to check and/record data about prescriptions.
- Maintains proper storage and security conditions for the drugs. Cleans and helps to maintain equipment and work areas.
- Receives, stores and logs inventory and returns (upon Pharmacist approval), verifies quantities against invoices, and informs supervisors of stock needs or shortages. Remains aware of expiry dates and rotates stock to avoid dispensing out of date products.
- Uses pharmaceutical technician expertise to ensure compliance, efficiency and quality of operations. Participates in company quality initiatives, recognizing opportunities for improvements and reporting quality assurance issues. Secures information in accordance with the privacy and security guidelines of the Company and applicable regulations such as HIPAA.
EDUCATION: HS diploma required. Current CO State Registration
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 6 months pharmacy experience

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Run restock reports, order inventory and update inventory for remote cabinets.
- Reconcile the physical inventory in the cabinet with the inventory in the computer system.
- Perform a routine check of expiration dates on medications in remote cabinets.
- Accurately ships each order to the appropriate address so that it arrives at the appropriate time at the correct destination.

The Wholesale Technician is responsible for the accurate filling and distribution of wholesale medications, and record keeping related to patient information and company records.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Run restock reports, order inventory and update inventory for remote cabinets.
- Reconcile the physical inventory in the cabinet with the inventory in the computer system.
- Perform a routine check of expiration dates on medications in remote cabinets.
- Accurately ships each order to the appropriate address so that it arrives at the appropriate time at the correct destination.

CareKinesis PACE Pharmacy Technician will collaboration closely with assigned PACE organization, their provider affiliates (Assisted Living Facility partners, provider network, others), and the CareKinesis Pharmacy Operations, Quality, and Client Development teams.
PACE Pharmacy Technician will serve as a Client ambassador for CareKinesis and a champion for the partnership with PACE frontline medication management operations.
Responsibilities:
Assist with ongoing pharmacy needs of PACE contracted ALF partners, included but not limited to:
- Ongoing training and support on pharmacy operations for new and existing staff
- Troubleshooting and collaborating to address any pharmacy concerns of the ALFs
- Phone calls to ALFs regarding participant medication refill needs
- Complete medication deliveries to facilities as needed
- Collaborate with PACE and CK team to ensure PACE ALF partner needs are assessed ongoing and addressed in a timely manner
- Facilitate access & whitelisting of providers newly added to network
- Provide overview and process training to providers as needed
- Conduct phone and email outreach to providers to obtain prescription information and clarification as needed
- Conduct communications with participants to assess need for PRN refills in advance of scheduled medication delivery cycle
- Field calls from participants regarding medication refills & tracking questions
- Assist with as needed PACE staff education & support as it pertains to Pharmacy in collaboration with Client Liaison
- Complete ATM, E-Box, and Floor Stock inventory & audit management, including restocking and disposal where needed
- Assist medication room staff with data entry, as needed.
- Follow-up with PACE providers to obtain timely signatures on controlled substances

- Facilitate communication with Med Room when clarification is needed on new orders
- Assist with communication with providers when pharmacists have clinical questions
- Support RPh with obtaining Clozapine labs needed for cycle dispenses
- Assist PACE team with activating PGx kits and coordinating with PACE team to schedule ppt visits for swabs
- Certified and Licensed Pharmacy Technician in the state of Colorado
- Minimum two years’ experience working as a Certified Pharmacy Technician
