Sorting Robotics is seeking an experienced Head of Sales to streamline the sales process by working with our exclusive distributor to drive results, manage the sales cadence, and also work with our Customer Success Director. Sorting Robotics is leading the industry in cannabis production automation solutions. The ideal candidate must have cannabis sales experience selling extraction equipment or other industrial solutions. Other cannabis experience at the retail level will not be considered.
Pay: $75,000-$125,000 + Commission + Equity
Location: On-Site - Based in Van Nuys, CA (Los Angeles)
Traveling: Sales and office-based travel to prospective and existing customers
Duties:
You will be tasked to manage and coordinate the company's sales efforts across product lines. You will work directly with our exclusive distributor partner to ensure consistent and smooth deal flow. This includes: Evaluating prospective inbound leads, Conducting prospective customer demos, Following up with distributor partner on pending deals, Create and/or maintain rapport with existing and prospective customers.
This is a highly independent position and will be involved in high-level decision making relating to larger sales strategy. If you are a self starter who thrives when obstacles and challenges are thrown at them, you should apply!
- Build a high-performance sales team structured to engage with a range of customers from Multi-State operators to individual owner-operators and utilizing a metric-driven project pursuit process anchored in customer engagement systems (CRM).
- Set and communicate clear, aggressive, and achievable revenue goals intended to meet and exceed financial forecasts. Require full and accurate accountability from all leaders and key individual contributors.
- Partner with Business Development to identify key product areas to add to the portfolio.
- Collaborate closely with both the Hardware and Software technical teams to develop effective schedules, work plans, resource requirements, cost estimates, customer site evaluations, and sales projections.
- Actively participate in industry-related conferences, events, and associated activities to establish brand relevancy and thought leadership.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date understanding of cannabis laws and regulations. Follow corporate protocols to influence and inform targeted decision-makers.
- Effectively manage direct reports and broader staff to ensure proper staffing to meet team goals on a short- and long-term basis.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Sales and/or Business Development
- Ability to use cloud based platforms such as Notion, Airtable, Slack, and able to learn new systems quickly
- 5 years working directly with cannabis market products, solutions, or durable goods production.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Agriculture or related field required.
- Cultivation, Greenhouse, or Extraction equipment sales experience is a big plus!
- Experience using and maintaining a CRM software solution
- Able to travel at least 40-50% of the time

Job Description:
Field Installation Technician
Do you have a knack for problem-solving and a drive to work with top-notch technology? Can you plan, schedule, and prioritize well while communicating clearly with colleagues and customers? If so, we want to talk to you about this exciting opportunity on our hardware team.
You will be traveling extensively in this role across the United States and Canada. When not actively traveling you will work alongside our hardware team assembling and building the hardware. You will know the machines from top to bottom.
Your background might be working on engines, robotics, or aerospace projects. You are comfortable with building client relationships and customer service.
At a minimum you'll need to have:
- An interest in both electrical and mechanical
- A solid understanding of electricity (volts, amps, fuses, wire, AC vs DC, voltmeters, etc)
- A solid understanding of mechanical systems (understands how engines work, can take apart and put back together just about anything, etc)
- Interest and ability to work on projects large and small including delicate 3D printed plastic enclosures with sensitive electronics / wiring
- A positive attitude and can get along with most people
- Professionalism (consistently showing up on time, appropriate clothing, etc)
- Curiosity about technology and an insatiable desire to learn something or try something new
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of professional experience
- Have a basic understanding of IoT
- Minimum Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology or similar -or- Professional / Occupational Certificate in Technology or similar -or- directly applicable professional experience
Additionally, it’d be fantastic if you had any of the following:
- Electrical harness build / debug / repair experience
- Knowledge of Stepper motors, pressure regulators, and pneumatically driven systems
- Experience with electrical crimping tools and crimp-style components, connector contacts, etc
- Exposure to welding
- Exposure to electronics soldering
- Exposure to metal fabrication / fabricator environment and tools
- Exposure to machine shop / machinist environment and tools (mill, lathe, grinder, etc)
- Exposure to reading schematics, circuit analysis, and debug techniques
- Exposure to electronics troubleshooting tools (oscilloscope, function generator, DMM, etc)
