What you’ll do …
- The Key Account Manager is the face to the customer and coordinates all activities needed to advance sales opportunities to successful completion. You will be a strong customer advocate by understanding customer needs and creating customer demand by pro-actively developing solutions with the appropriate products and services. You will own the client relationship.
- Have in-depth knowledge of all aspects of horticulture production, in a climate-controlled growing environment. This allows you to technically connect the aspects of growing with the benefits that our technology provides to the betterment of the end-user grower.
- Be responsible for achieving sales targets in your territory/segment while working closely with product management, supply chain and local MarCom for the designated region.
- Build up a network of horticulture decision makers, influencers and partners leading to a healthy opportunity pipeline. You will be Responsible for account planning (forecasting and order-portfolio) and keeping the account profile up to date.
- Work in close collaboration with the plant specialists and project application engineers within the North American Team.
- Be responsible for facilitating co-creation with growers, by initiating field tests and commercial follow up for implementation of the results. Thus, you develop the new category of tailored growth light solutions enabled by LED technology. You are eager to build new business and entrepreneurial to make things happen at the customer level.
- Participate in and lead regular status and strategy meetings with customers' senior management to understand and meet their needs. Provide market intelligence by monitoring customer and competitor activity and industry trends.
What you’ll need ….
- Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Plant Science, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant horticultural industry experience in sales/customer relations management, or business development in the controlled growing environment sectors.
- In-depth technical growing knowledge of crops (cannabis, floriculture, high-wire/leafy vegetable) in the climate-controlled growing industry
- High problem-solving ability, and consultative selling experience. Capable to develop complex business cases and manage them to favorable conclusion.
- Experience developing business and executing sales plans with strategies to get, grow, and keep relationships with targeted customers. Strong computer skills and proficiency with spreadsheets, functional databases, CRM, enterprise-wide software applications, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience setting up product trials and working with researchers. Able/willing to travel 50%.

Work closely with engineering design team on new product development and also on improvements made to existing products reviewing and providing code compliance design input. Ensure all products meet regulatory requirements
Create and maintain compliance testing plans; provide direction to engineers and/or technicians in conducting internal safety tests
What you’ll need
Associates degree in Engineering or Technology; Bachelors’ degree preferred
5+ years’ experience as a regulatory compliance engineer preferably within the lighting and illumination industry
Experience and thorough understanding of UL8800, UL1598, UL8750, UL796, IEC60598-1 and IEC61347-1 along with experience working on global compliance certification
Understanding of US and European safety and regulatory requirements related to lighting fixtures

What you’ll do
- Identify quarterly and annual Digital Marketing objectives based on Fluence’s business objectives, product roadmap, and competitive landscape.

Your qualifications
- 8-10 years digital marketing experience, ideally in a technology-centric company.
- 3-5 years’ experience in horticulture, lighting, or a Fluence-related industry.

As a Customer Segment Manager for Horticulture, you’ll be responsible for driving and supporting sales of Horticulture LED Solutions in USA and Canada for high tech greenhouses in vegetables, floriculture, and medical cannabis. Sales of these solutions is a joint effort of Key Account Managers and experts on engineering and plant growth. You are the linking pin between the Sales organization and the Global Business Unit Horticulture. You report to the Business Leader Horticulture who is based in Eindhoven.

What you’ll do ….
- Define Horticulture marketing strategy for USA and Canada and review and approve the go-to-market program of the Sales teams.
- Optimize offering for high tech greenhouses and certified HortiLed partners involving the sales teams and experts.
- Set directions for market introduction, commit to first year sales, and drive actual achievement
- Lead review meetings with Commercial Managers on progress of above topics
- Consolidate market insights and needs and contribute to the global marketing strategy
- Innovate and implement Deal financing (in collaboration with Signify Capital)
- Sales competency building: organize training, mentoring, cross regional learnings
Actively engage in the greenhouse related networks to truly understand growers and stakeholders, and create new opportunities
Your qualifications ….
- Bachelor in Business Administration preferably Agriculture focus ; Master’s degree is highly desirable
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a cross functional role (product management, marketing management, project management) within the Horticulture/Agriculture domain.
- Global /International experience along with a minimum of 3 years of Horticulture sales experience and network in USA or Canada
- Strong customer focus and experience in complex stakeholder management
- Team player, can influence cross-functionally
- Travel up to 50%

Business Development Manager, Bio-Based Pharmaceutical Crops – Horticultural LED North America
Philips Lighting has been leading in growth lighting for Horticulture for many years. LED technology applied in horticulture brings new opportunities: now growth light can be tuned exactly to the crop and its environment, thus improving yield and saving energy. Together with growers, partners and universities Philips develops solutions for best business results. Today’s business is to design and supply LED solutions for professional growers. With our LED solutions, light can be tuned exactly to the crop and its environment to improve growth results, which is the fundament for our ‘light recipe approach’. We are active in LED lighting for growing vegetables, fruits and flowers grown in high tech greenhouses, vertical farms and research institutes all over the world. Crops for pharmaceutical compounds, including medicinal cannabis for countries where this is fully legalized, is a new application for LED lighting.
The Business Development Manager role is part of the team working on the Segment Horticulture with focus on developing new business: establish direct contact to growers and their partners and building and maintaining a network of complementary partners. The Business Development Manager will report directly to the Director Horticulture North America and focus primarily on the market of crops grown for specific pharmaceutical compounds in North America. You will work in close collaboration with the Project Application Engineers and Plant Specialists within the North American Team in conjunction with the Regional Customer Service and Order Desk teams. You will understand the customers' preferred method of conducting business and work with them to gain a deep understanding of their business needs. You have an active interest in the business world and a desire to be recognized for success by peers and customers. You are able to fulfill fully the Principal Accountabilities, possess the Required Skills and bring the listed Education & Experience to the job function.
What you'll do:

Build up a network in Horticulture decision makers, influencers and partners leading to sales in the fast-growing market of crops grown for specific pharmaceutical compounds in North America. In this role you excel in customer satisfaction. You make this happen by a pro-active attitude.
- Fulfill a central position between decision makers and your North American team, in context with the Global Horticulture Team and initiatives. You work closely in a collaborative manner with team Plant Specialists and Application Engineers under the guidance of the Director. You are a team player able to leverage each member’s strengths to achieve excellent business results.
- You are co-responsible in the team for facilitating co-creation with growers, by initiating field tests and commercial follow up for implementation of the results. Thus you develop the new category of tailored growth light solutions enabled by LED technology. You are eager to build new business and entrepreneurial to make things happen.
- You are regionally responsible for operational product management, as you are involved with the team in managing oversight of the local process of product/customer creation, pricing uploads and supply chain as well as local MarCom support for the designated region.
- You are an ambassador for the Philips Horti approach, creating awareness and generating leads by representing Philips in tradeshows, events and conferences.
- You have in-depth knowledge of all aspects of horticulture production, especially crops grown for specific pharmaceutical compounds in North America, in a climate-controlled growing environment. This allows you to technically connect the aspects of growing with the benefits that our technology provides to the betterment of the end-user grower.
As a Business Development Manager, you are the first contact person for designated customers and you are the intermediary between the customer and the Horti segment team. Your key tasks consist of:
- Client relationship responsibility. The Business Development Manager is the face to the customer and coordinates internally the activities towards the respective customers
- Building up the customer / partner network for LED’s for Horticulture. Responsible for keeping the account profile up-to-date as well as the account planning (forecasting and order-portfolio)
- Acquisition of new customers
- Independently make and pursue offers based on total cost of ownership calculations
- Supporting the team with marketing intelligence and exploration of new customers
- Active participation in the North American and Global Horticulture teams
- Fulfill a local coordinating role on operational product management and Marcom support
- Initiating and coordinating technical trials at a Research and Commercial level in conjunction with the other North American team members
What you'll need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture or related Plant Science discipline
- Equipped with 5+ years of relevant horticultural working experience, preferably in sales/customer relations management in the controlled growing environment sectors
- In-depth technical growing knowledge of the climate-controlled growing environment of pharmaceutical crops industry
- Experience in developing business with customers with an above average skill set in sales relations
- History of managing sales in a distance environment
- Customer focused while still maintaining the Company initiatives
- Excellent interpersonal and business communication skills – both internal and external
- Positive attitude as a team player and eager to achieve excellent business results.
- Reliable, work independently, punctual, structured, and looking for a longer-term position.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with spreadsheets, functional databases, CRM, enterprise wide software applications, and Microsoft Office suite

- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects to completion and within deadlines.

- Experience setting up product trials and working with researchers
- Strong ability & experience in creating PowerPoints matched with excellent presentation skills

Working as a Horticultural LED Sales Lead at Signify is dynamic. The geographical scope of this role is North America (US/Canada). As the Horticultural LED Sales Lead you will lead the Horticulture Sales team with a focus on developing new business: establishing new relationships with growers and their partners and building and maintaining a network of complementary partners. What you’ll do
- Lead and coach the Horticulture sales team to find new business opportunities, manage customer relationships and close large complex opportunities. This will include understanding the customers' preferred method of conducting business, working with them to gain a deep understanding of their business needs and, with your team, proposing lighting solutions that convert into sales.
- Active interest in commercial excellence, revenue growth, and a desire to be recognized for success by peers and customers. You will actively lead a sales forecasting weekly cadence that enables robust and accurate demand planning and on target sales growth.
- Create detailed business and sales plans to support the business strategies to facilitate the attainment of goals and quotas; lead your team’s creation, development and management of channel partnerships and key customer accounts and establish goals, objectives, and annual performance reviews for Sales team.
- Elevate the Horticulture LED market share in North America and Canadian markets by building up a network with Horticulture channel partnerships, decision makers, influencers and partners leading to sales. In this role you excel in customer satisfaction. You make this happen by a pro-active attitude.
- Act as an ambassador and take the lead in creating awareness and generating leads by representing Signify in tradeshows, events and conferences.
- Oversee the Initiation and coordination of technical trials at a Research and Commercial level in conjunction with the other North American team members.

What you’ll need

- Minimum of 5 years of sales management leadership and coaching experience with experience leading remote based Sales teams
- A track record of delivering results. Demonstrated success meeting and exceeding aggressive growth targets; Vision and inspiring leadership; strong communicator with the leadership skills that engage and motivate peers, employees, colleagues, customers and stakeholders; drives change, and promotes a sense of urgency
- In-depth technical growing knowledge of the climate-controlled growing environment floriculture industry, as well as the climate-controlled vegetable industry (experience setting up product trials and working with researchers is a plus)
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of channel development and channel expansion
- Ability to travel nationally (50% -60%) with limited international travel as needed
