Shasta Lab is a cannabis / hemp testing lab. Our mission is to provide excellent service for our clients.
We are looking for a responsible Administrator to organize our company’s day-to-day operations. Your job will be to provide clerical support to our employees and coordinate all daily administrative activities.
The Administrator should be highly organized and able to multitask with ease. The Administrator’s main tasks include managing office equipment, booking meetings and events, arranging travel and distributing mail. Our ideal candidate has experience as an Office Administrator, Secretary or relevant administrative role.
You should be familiar with office software (e.g. MS Office), including word processors, spreadsheets and presentations. Ultimately, a successful Administrator should be able to ensure our office procedures run smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Support daily operation activites in the lab
- Order office stationery and supplies
- Maintain internal databases
- Maintain invoices, and account receiveable data
- Keep employee records (physical and digital)
- Maintain a filing system for data on customers and external partners
- Distribute incoming and outgoing mail
- Prepare regular reports and presentations
- Organize, store and print company documents as needed
- Answer and redirect phone calls
- Handle queries from managers and employees
- Update office policies and ensure compliance with them
- Support purchasing and procurement
Requirements
- Must be over 21 years with clean criminal record. (No DUI)
- Proven experience as an Administrator, Administrative Assistant or relevant role
- Familiarity with office equipment, including printers and fax machines
- Knowledge of office policies and procedures
- Experience with office management tools (MS Office software, in particular)
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Problem-solving attitude with an eye for detail
- Flexible to work in a dynamic startup enviorment.

Job summary
Cannabis laboratory Quality Assurance (QA) encompasses a range of activities that enable laboratories to achieve and maintain high levels of accuracy and proficiency despite changes in test methods and the volume of specimens tested.
Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst duties and responsibilities
- Conduct analytical testing of cannabis and hemp materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished test results to assure company and DCC standards are met.
- Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for each step of the laboratory testing process, ranging from specimen handling to instrument performance validation.
- Define administrative requirements, such as mandatory recordkeeping, data evaluation, and internal audits to monitor adherence to SOPs.
- Specifies corrective actions, documentation, and the persons responsible for carrying out corrective actions when problems are identified.
- Sustain high-quality employee performance.
Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst requirements and qualifications
· Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field. (Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science, or closely related field of study)
- Must be over 21 years of age with clean background check
- Experienced with ISO 17025 or 9001
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in cannabis testing lab or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality control
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills and strong problem-solving skills
- Highly developed attention to detail
- Flexible to work in a dynamic startup environment
- Knowledge of cannabis analytical methods and testing, Quality and Food Safety Systems
- Familiar with Windows, Excel and able to perform admin work

The Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business for Shasta Lab, as well as maintaining and deepening these new customer relationships. This includes sourcing, coordinating, and meeting potential customers in the industry that have cannabis testing needs. Primary areas of focus are identifying new customers, promoting existing customer retention, and successfully onboarding new accounts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and prepare a sales and marketing plan for Shasta Lab for the approval of the CEO
- Create and maintain a current list of licensed cannabis cultivators, manufacturers, distributors and retailers in the state of California and identify potential accounts based on geography
- Create and maintain an awareness of current competitors in the state of California
- Provide the highest level of customer service at all times.
- Develop a lead pipeline
- Perform heavy cold calling to schedule in person appointments with potential customers. This may require creative sourcing methods.
- Network at industry events to gain accounts.
- Educate potential and existing accounts regarding testing requirements and benefits that Shasta Lab can provide.
- Take sales orders and submit for processing per Shasta Lab’s procedures
- Educate customers on our process and ensure appropriate expectations are established and maintained regarding order timing and outcomes.
- Deliver sales presentations to customers and for internal training purposes.
- Regularly maintain accurate, detailed, and current notes for existing and potential accounts.
- Generate and regularly deliver sales reports to the CEO which include sales calls, leads and other planned activities
- Manage social media presence
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
- Must be fast learner and be flexible to adapt new rules by DCC.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to build secure new customers for Shasta Lab and develop positive relationships and nurture them as needed in a sales environment.
- Ability to maintain an incredibly high degree of attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work in a startup company and understand the dynamics of a start up
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Education and Experience

- Knowledge of chemistry and analytical laboratory principles, terminology, practices, techniques, and instrumentation.
- Exposure to the cannabis industry for at least one (1) year
- 2+ years of work experience in Sales is a MUST
- Experience in helping small businesses with their email marketing is preferred. Please include some examples about how you've helped previous clients with email list building and email sales automation.
