*What is the Seeking Alpha Marketplace?*
- The Seeking Alpha Marketplace is a platform for investing newsletter authors to manage and promote their subscription services. It already generates tens of millions of dollars of revenue, with over 180 investing subscription services. Many authors on the Seeking Alpha Marketplace platform have turned their subscription service into a full time job, with a number of authors generating revenue of over $1M per year.
- Marketplace subscription services combine elements of the traditional investing newsletter, such as longer-form macro analysis, single stock ideas and model portfolios, with more modern features such as real-time chat and trading alerts that keep subscribers plugged into markets throughout the trading day.
- Services can be quite broad in scope, with some that attempt to cover hundreds of stocks, to really niche, with services that focus on just a single theme such as biotech, cannabis, or cryptocurrency. Subscription prices also vary considerably, charging as little as $200 or as much as $2,500 per year.
- Unlike competitors like SubStack which provide only subscription management, Seeking Alpha’s Marketplace also helps authors with customer acquisition by providing access to millions of Seeking Alpha readers, and even pays authors for articles which market their subscription services. As a result, Seeking Alpha Marketplace authors have far faster income growth than on other platforms.

- A strong working knowledge of best practices in investing newsletter marketing - nice to have
- Familiarity with top social media platforms like LinkedIn and Twitter - nice to have
- Solid understanding of web metrics, digital analytics, and a proven ability to generate, analyze and interpret reports - must

Responsibilities:
The Marketplace Growth Manager is responsible for increasing the number of authors on our platform. Potential levers include:
- Actively reaching out to potential Marketplace service providers outside of the Seeking Alpha ecosystem, whether on social media platforms like LinkedIn and Twitter, or via competing sites like Marketfy or financial newsletter providers within SubStack. This will include establishing a viable social media presence so that you can easily approach potential new services.
- Actively reaching out to Seeking Alpha’s 1,000s of active contributors and 10s of thousands of dormant contributors to pitch them on opening their own Marketplace services. This involves gaining an intimate knowledge of Seeking Alpha’s contributor ecosystem and learning to identify the characteristics of successful Marketplace service providers.
- Evaluating incoming applications to open new Marketplace services.
- Onboarding new services by familiarizing them with what running a successful Marketplace service entails and walking them through our content management system and various on-site marketing tools. This part of the process involves a lot of hand-holding as you help authors fine-tune their service’s focus and all of their marketing materials.
- Staying up to date with new investing newsletter and online community industry trends - particularly among top competitors.
