Account Manager - South US, Grodan
At Grodan, we are at the forefront of innovating the horticulture industry, by creating media solutions for sustainable cultivation of vegetables, flowers and medicinal plants using stone wool. This is the role:
We supply innovative and sustainable stone wool growing media solutions for the licensed cannabis market and retail horticultural sector, based on Precision Growing principles. Stone wool growing substrates are offered together with tailor-made advice and innovative tools to support Precision Growing, enabling growers to achieve the best crop possible. The Account Manager will report directly to the Regional Sales Manager and will ideally be based in the South US.
Responsibilities:
- Make sales action plans for his/her areas of responsibility and customer base, based on formulated strategic goals and market approaches
- Build up and maintain good and effective relations with current and future customers (retailers and licensed cannabis growers), distributors, and important industry influencers.
- Keep the CRM system continuously updated in line with any relevant developments in this area
- Keep market, company, and technical knowledge updated and give proactive feedback to the company regarding new developments, such as impending threats and opportunities
- Sell the company's products and services using technical, organizational, and customer/market knowledge to influence customers and assist them in applying the products/services to their needs, resulting in revenue generation
- Actively contribute towards a variety of projects, trade shows, internal workshops, and other team initiatives
This is what you offer:
- Agriculture, Science or Technology degrees or equivalent experience
- 3+ years' direct industry experience in CEA/Agriculture/Science
- Licensed cannabis production experience and/or sales experience preferred
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Eagerness to continuously learn and adapt to the needs and wishes of the customer and marketplace
- Competence and confidence to advise on the best products and solutions and clearly indicate added value (good knowledge of products, ability to make calculations on technical situations)
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations. Visibility requires maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public
- Adaptability to internal and external changes; flexibility as needed
- Willingness to travel, possession of a valid state driver’s license and passport
- Self-responsibility and effectiveness when working remotely from home office (within the territory)

In this role you will generate GRODAN sales through developing and maintaining relationships with (key-) customers (distributors, grower(-groups), consultants and other stakeholder(s) within the cannabis and retail markets in the Los Angeles area.
You will investigate all sales opportunities within your area and implement area and team plans to deliver budgeted figures.
The geographical scope of the job will be Los Angeles/Southern California.
This is what you offer:
- A relevant higher vocational level degree and substantial relevant working experience.
- 3+ years’ experience in similar positions ideally within companies/industries which are suitable for the role and within companies working with dealers’ channel.
- Ability to establish rapport with distributors, customers (in- and external) and stakeholders.
- Written and spoken language of responsible market fluently.
- Excellent commercial (sales-) skills. Being able to negotiate.
