Dispensary Nurse Job Description

Full- time Part-time and PRN

Monday - Friday 5:30am- 1:30pm

Every other Saturday - 8am - 11:00am

The Dispensary Nurse position is responsible for the safe and efficient dispensing medications to clients, consistent with the clinic procedures. The nature of this position is fast-paced in high-stress situations and conditions.

Responsibilities and Tasks

• Performs ongoing job expectations in accordance with Redeem Health Care Medical System’s Policies and Procedures Manual.

• Maintains privacy of all company information and safeguards its confidentiality at all times.

• Implements the nursing process, as it relates to substance abuse disorders, demonstrating skills in assessment (including admission assess), preliminary treatment planning, implementation and evaluation.

• Adheres to safe practice of medication administration in compliance with medication policy. Facilitates medication education and other patient education utilizing good theoretical knowledge of subject matter and effective communication skills in delivering material.

• Completes all documentation related to medical including assessments, summaries, treatment plans and progress notes maintaining compliance with the policies and procedures of the facility and its regulating agencies.

• Collaborates with physicians and the treatment team when making decisions about patient's need for nursing care. Plans and implements the nursing care for patients in accordance with physician orders, policies and procedures of the facility, and safe nursing practice.

• Demonstrates ability to intervene appropriately with patients who are in crisis, utilizing de-escalation skills.

• Works as a team on the nursing unit and utilizes supervisory feedback to improve others performance.

Qualifications and Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience working with in the addiction population

• At least 1 year of experience working in opioid addiction

• Ability to use an electronic medical record

• Current State of Maryland Nursing License (LPN or RN)

Salary: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour

• On call

• Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Baltimore, MD 21205: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• BLS Certification (Preferred)

• LPN (Required)

Work Location: Two locations

Pay: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour
