Quality Testing Laboratory is looking to add to our team of fun and friendly laboratory staff. If you are detail-oriented and can pick up new things quickly, you should submit your application for a Laboratory Analyst (gas chromatography) position.
Summary
This position will involve conducting sample analysis well as operation and maintenance of Shimadzu GCMS/MS and GCMS-headspace instrumentation including evaluation of QC compliance and data processing. Experience in the cannabis industry is welcome. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, hard-working, and a successful participant in a team setting, with excellent troubleshooting capabilities, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven laboratory environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain GCMS/MS or GCMS-headspace
- Analyzes test results to generate and report Certificates of Analysis (COAs) in a timely and accurate matter within quoted turnaround times
- Maintaining detailed records of testing and chemical preparations
- Sharing general responsibility including housekeeping, equipment maintenance calibration, and general lab support.
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred experience:
- Experience with gas chromatography and mass spectrometry analytical instrumentation
- Experience with Shimadzu instruments are preferred.
- Wet lab
- Ability to perform instrument maintenance such as MS source cleaning, flow path and column flushing/cleaning
- Following and updating lab SOP's
- Sample handling and analysis
- Strong Technical skills and ability to evaluate data and results
- Maintaining records of all quality activities as documented in SOPs and test methods
- Familiar with GLP standards
- Optional: Experience with test method optimization or validation
Skills
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment both independently and in a group setting with minimal direction the flexibility to adjust to workload based upon changing priorities
- Time management – the ability to achieve results within expected time periods
- Problem-solving & critical thinking
- Must maintain a professional/ positive attitude
- Demonstrate risk assessment and consideration of evidence with every decision, and appropriately prioritizes work.
Minimum Qualifications
A minimum of two years’ experience working in a regulated laboratory. Experience in a cannabis laboratory is preferred but not required.
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in:
- Chemistry
- Biology
- Environmental
- Food science
- Pharmaceuticals
- Forensics,
- Any other related field.
- Must be minimum 21 years old
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
Typical work schedule: 40 hours per week
Must have a flexible schedule and must be able to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and overtime when needed.

- Maintaining detailed records of testing and chemical preparations
- Perform sample collection
- Review and follow client requests
- Sharing general responsibility including housekeeping, equipment maintenance calibration, and general lab support.
