Full Job Description

Job Title: Bookkeeper

Reports to: COO

Job Overview:The Purple City Genetics (PCG) Bookkeeper is responsible for overseeing PCGs financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. They will perform daily accounting tasks such as general ledger entries, and recording payments and adjustments. 2021 is an important growth year for PCG and the Bookkeeper will play a role in process development to lay a solid foundation for scalability. The bookkeeper will be assisting with conversion from Xero toQuickbooks and developing new processes within the new accounting system.

Responsibilities for 2021:

• Maintain and accurate record of financial transactions
• Update and maintain the general ledger
• Reconciliation of entries into the accounting system
• Account reconciliation to assess the accuracy of transactions
• Monitor variances from the projected budget
• Develop processes for the admin team to follow to ensure accurate information transfer
• Pay supplier invoices and other debts as they come due
• Track excise tax collection from retail customers and remit them to the state
• Track receivables and ensure they are collected promptly
• Make bank deposits
• Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
• Provide administrative support to management as needed

Qualifications:

• 6+ years small business bookkeeping experience
• Understanding of accounting best practices
• Strict attention to detail; ability to produce work with a high level of accuracy
• Highly organized
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Experience developing and implementing processes
• Sense of humor
• Passion for cannabis and desire to preserve the authenticity of a legacy company while pursuing growth

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
