We are filling a position for a full time highly skilled carpenter in a non-union company. If you are skilled working with wood, the change to aluminum is an easy one and a welcomed one for the back muscles.
We are an aluminum railing systems supplier and contractor since 2008 that is rapidly growing and expanding. We understand the importance of providing premier service to our customers and having a workplace environment that demonstrates the high value we would place on you as an employee.
We install aluminum railing component systems on decks, balconies, stairs, and walkways. We also sell and install aluminum balconies. Installations are on mostly commercial and some residential projects. Our significant growth will provide you the opportunity to grow professionally with us and gain additional skills along the way. Full Job Description
We are looking for an experienced warehouse/shop worker who wants to grow professionally by expanding his/her skills allowing for the possibility to work in other areas of the company.
Filling Internal and External Orders This full-time position is responsible for filling internal and external customer orders. Employees will be responsible for locating, assembling, packaging, and loading parts in an efficient manner while monitoring the quality of merchandise. Attention to detail, teamwork, being comfortable with basic hand tools, and good customer service skills are required to succeed in this position.
Package Goods Responsible for packaging products appropriately to protect them from damage during storage and transportation. This includes wrapping material up to 20 feet in length, bagging smaller items, and boxing shipments.
Receiving Goods Unload delivery trucks from suppliers by hand and by forklift based on the merchandise received. Verify the accuracy of the order, as well as the quality of merchandise received. Will require regularly lifting up to 50 lbs., forklift experience and license a plus.
Transportation of Goods Pickup and delivery of materials from vendors and customer locations using company vehicle. Will require loading and unloading material up to 20 feet in length from the vehicles lumber rack. Requires a valid driver’s license with good driving record.
Operate Equipment This position requires frequent use of basic fabrication equipment and hand tools. Familiarity with the proper and safe operation of basic hand tools, including accurate use of tape measures is a plus.
Willingness to learn the safe operation of larger equipment on a regular basis such as chop saws, drill press, and hand drills is required. Employees will be afforded the opportunity to obtain a forklift certification once the 90-day evaluation period has passed.
Taking Inventory An inventory count will be performed several times throughout the year, employees are expected to be able to accurately identify, locate, and count all relevant material. Employees will also be required to help control inventory through diligent record keeping of incoming and outgoing merchandise.
Occasional Field Work This position will also require a willingness to occasionally participate in product installation in the field. An employee in this position will be occasionally assigned to jobs in the field as needed (up to several weeks at a time) and will sometimes be expected to provide their own transportation to and from these locations--with compensation for miles traveled. Employees in this position will be given the opportunity to learn the installation of aluminum railing and other products with the option of becoming either a full or part time installer if one desired. This will require the ability to work outdoors, attention to detail, a desire to provide quality products to customers, good organization, excellent teamwork skills, and regular drug screening including testing for marijuana.
