Job Summary
To sustain its rapid growth, PathogenDx is hiring a Product Manager, Food and Ag, to join the Tucson-based Research & Development team, reporting to the VP of Product Development. In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end lifecycle management and commercialization of the cannabis and food safety product line and all issues related to it. You will know your product, customers, market, and competitors better than anyone else. The position offers an excellent opportunity to combine interests in life sciences with roles in business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)
As Product Manager, you will have the opportunity to:
- Collaborate with PathogenDx customers and internal technical teams to understand user requirements and translate them into clear and actionable product requirements, for the current cannabis safety testing base and for expansion into food safety.
- Identify areas for useability and competitive improvement for current offerings and devise plans for their implementation.
- Apply your technical, organizational, operational, and communication skills to coordinate product design, development efforts and contribute to offerings that solve customer problems and address customer needs.
- Inform senior management of market trends and influence long term product and business strategy.
- Be the central resource with design, development, process, test, and marketing throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Support the assessment and improvement of company internal processes to optimize implementation of customer feedback.
- Guide messaging for marketing communications and contribute directly to the development of content
Measurement of Performance
- Performance metrics will include improvements in Market Share, User Satisfaction, Retention/Churn, and Revenue Growth
- Innovation and product fit: Successful definition of product improvements, automation and form factors designed to address unmet market needs.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant Life Sciences, Food, Ag or Cannabis product management experience
- BS in a biological science required, advanced degree preferred. Financial acumen desired, MBA preferred
- Experience in Customer Management as the intermediary between Customers and R&D
- Understanding of and experience participating in the product development process
- Desire to bring a collaborative spirit and strong relationship building, both internally and externally
- Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage tradeoffs, and evaluate opportunities
- Excellent planning and organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced and dynamic innovation-oriented work environment
- Ability to travel up to 20%
