Dispensary Operations
Course covers logistic concepts including transportation, inventory, packaging, warehousing, materials handling, order processing, safety protocol and facility location.
Part-time faculty are paid on a lecture hour equivalents (LHE) basis. For most courses, the LHE is the same as a credit hour. For others, the LHE represents additional work for teaching the class, such as grading papers for Composition classes or teaching a class with a laboratory section (computers, languages, and the sciences); in those cases, the LHE represents a figure higher than the credit hour. All part-time faculty start at the beginning pay rates, regardless of the level and type of experience obtained elsewhere. For the 2020-21 academic year rates are $1155/LHE for faculty without doctorates and $1237/LHE for faculty with doctorates. Part-time faculty advance one step within the salary schedule with the successful completion of 2 fall & spring semesters where 3+ credit hours are taught in each semester.

- Prepare course presentations and instructional materials using active learning methods and a variety of instructional strategies, deliver instruction to students with those presentations and materials at each class session delivered in person on campus or online.
- Meet with courses and laboratories at scheduled times.
- Instruct, advise, consult with and evaluate the performance of enrolled students.
- Maintain clear records on student performance involved with the evaluation and grading of student performance.
- Participate in department meetings and comply with department decisions regarding instructional matters.
- Participate in department and institutional assessments of student learning and in department and institutional surveys.
- Comply with institutional procedures.
- Attend and participate in divisional meetings, committee, task force, and other institutional organization meetings, as assigned.
- Schedule office hours with at least one office hour held weekly for every three credit hours taught.
- Engage in professional development activities to maintain professional skills and currency in the profession and improve the quality of student learning.

Continuing Education, Training, and Workforce Development is looking to hire a quality instructor to develop and provide instruction for continuing education cannabis courses that will support the cannabis industry.
Essential Functions of the Position:
- Preparation of program learning activities and instructional materials (as appropriate),
- Delivery of instruction, including being prepared for and meeting programs at scheduled times,
- Compliance with departmental and institutional policies and procedures including but not limited to submission of midterm and final grades, and Compliance with institutional procedures.
Job Requirements:
Required qualifications include:
- Associate degree with 2000 hours of experience in the field
- Knowledge /awareness of Illinois cannabis laws and regulations
- Awareness of dispensary/cultivation operations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer literacy including the ability to use online tools to supplement teaching and facilitate email access
- Must be able to teach with enthusiasm and implement relevant teaching strategies to develop the skills of students.
- Willingness to support the goals of the Continuing Education division and strive to create an effective learning environment for a diverse population of students.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience teaching/training specifically in the cannabis industry
