JOB DESCRIPTION
· Minimum 2 year hands-on relevant microbiology experience in a cannabis, food, environmental or similar laboratory
· Practical experience in speciation of organisms required

· Able to multi-task to complete multiple analyses
· Able to guide and mentor lab technicians to ensure work is completed on time
- Must be a self-starter and internally motivated
- Must be able to take lead with little supervision
· Must be able to work with chemicals and live biological cultures in a safe manner to minimize exposure to hazardous materials
. Biological samples include, but are not limited to, Yeast & Mold, Aerobic bacteria, Salmonella, E. coli, Enterobacteriaceae spp., Listeria, Staphylococcus
· Able to work in a sterile, safe environment and be knowledgable of Good Laboratory Practices
· Able to work in a high-throughput fast-paced environment
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparing broths and media for Micro Lab use.
- Preparation and inoculation of microbological tests with 3M Petrifilm Plates media (E.coli, Coliforms, AC, Enterobacter, Staphylococcus, Yeast & Mold, Listeria, Salmonella).
- Experience with 3M MDS (Molecular Detection Device) is very relevant.
- Direct observations of CCPS (Critical Control Points).
- Investigation and corrective action with recommendations for any deviation of results.
- Compilation and analysis of the results of the finished product, raw material Oils and dry.
- Update of results in the DRIVE database.
- Upload images of the results obtained 3M petrifilm plates.
- Verbal results report to the SQF department for product release.
- Inactivation of 3M Petrifilm plates material in Autoclave.
- To keep the Micro Lab fully stocked with supplies.
- General cleaning and disinfection of the Microbiology laboratory, floors, equipment (MDS, Peroxide, Vortex, Moisture Analyzer, incubators, counters, scales).
- To properly dispose organic material waste weekly.

· Sample preparation including accurately weighing samples, microbial plating, dilutions, pipetting using the appropriate methods and applicable QA/QC requirements
· Data interpretation/trending, data entry
· Generation and review of reports
· Maintain the laboratory with regard to good housekeeping, equipment, glassware care, safety and inventory control
· Sample and waste disposal
· Willing to assist in all areas as needed
Job Type: Full-time
