Full Job Description
Nordic Analytical Laboratories is a state certified and ISO 17025 accredited cannabis testing facility, located in Denver, Colorado. Nordic is looking to add a chemist to our Denver location who will perform sample preparation, data analysis, and contribute to a team environment.
Job Duties:
- Follows and fulfills analytical and analytical preparation duties for various assays, including potency, terpenes, pesticides, mycotoxins and residual solvent analyses per Nordic Analytical Laboratories SOPs
- Contributes to overall team effort in the establishment of a quality testing laboratory
- Receive, accession, and extract samples
- Adjusts and finishes sample package documentation using METRC
- Follows routine tasks accurately and follows strict methodologies in order to carry out sample extractions
- Maintain, and operate standard laboratory equipment, for example: centrifuges, pipettes, and balances
- Assisting with sample disposal and general laboratory cleaning
- Follow safety procedures and safety checks
- Clean and organize the laboratory as needed
- Other assigned tasks
Skills/Qualifications
- Strong academic background with a minimum of a B.S. in physical or life sciences
- 1-3 years of regulated laboratory work experience
- Motivation and ability to solve problems proactively
- Must be a Colorado State Resident
- Must be able to obtain a Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division occupational license
- Must be able to work flexible hours, some weekends required

- Interprets data using Agilent and Shimadzu software, adhering to strict guidelines on documentation while recording data
- Collaborates with supervisory lab staff with regards to data interpretation
- Contributes to overall team effort in the establishment of a quality testing laboratory
- Receive, accession, and extract samples
- Adjusts and finishes sample package documentation using METRC
- Follows routine tasks accurately and follows strict methodologies in order to carry out sample extractions
- Maintain, and operate standard laboratory equipment, for example: centrifuges, pipettes, and balances
- Follow safety procedures and safety checks
- Clean and organize the laboratory as needed
- Other assigned tasks
