Extraction Technician

Reports To: The Lab Manager

Job Overview: The Extraction Technician will be responsible for safe and efficient operation of sophisticated equipment and conversion of the cannabis biomass into high quality medical cannabis products for ingestion, inhalation, or topical application.

The Extraction Technician follows established procedures to refine a crude cannabis oils to insure purity of the final product. The Distillation Technician runs post-processing equipment like rotary evaporators, vacuum ovens, wiped film distillation units and more. This position requires to perform distillation, decarboxylation, filtration, and maintenance of post-processing equipment.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Carry out all assigned duties including but not limited to extraction, extract processing, product formulation, filling and other manufacturing responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner that also complies with State Regulations, Nature’s Grave and Wellness’s SOP’s, and all applicable laboratory procedures.
• Maintain the inventory responsibility of all raw materials, finished products, and by-products of the cannabis manufacturing process.
• Maintain the proactive behavior around the manufacturing facility.
• Operate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment. Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on associated equipment as required.
• Ensure compliance and accuracy involving all product tracking, product security, and product movement procedures.
• Perform in-process and post-process quality assurance sampling, testing, and visual inspections to ensure all product meets or exceeds Nature’s Grace and Wellness’s specifications and patients’ expectations; such quality assurance work shall include, but not limited to:
• • Record and monitor process conditions to ensure compliance to standard operating procedures
  • Proper weighing, data recording, and batch tracking throughout Nature’s Grace and Wellness’s process
  • Work with 3rd party laboratories on sampling and batch control for their sample gathering and reporting
• Continually strive to improve Nature’s Grace and Wellness’s processes for improved patient safety, quality, and efficient manufacturing
• Monitor and manage laboratory and processing equipment supplies and inventory
• Ability to author and execute manufacturing batch records and SOPs
• Report the results of work in verbal and written form
• Maintain the inventory responsibility of all raw materials, finished products, and by-product

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have at least one (1) to three (3) years of experience in manufacturing or laboratory environment in the food or pharmaceutical industries, familiar with electrical control systems for various equipment, and packaging with a focus on ensuring product safety and quality. Experience ethanol extraction and distillation preferred.

• High School Diploma or G.E.D at a minimum
• State law requires that applicants be 21 years old to work for cultivation center
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Willingness to learn and improve each operation
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Docs
• Good documentation practices
• Must be able to complete and obtain an Illinois Department of Agriculture Medical Cannabis Cultivation Center License.

Physical Qualifications: Standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds by themselves and 75+ pounds with a buddy, carrying product totes, pushing carts, moving and making adjustments to process equipment. Ability to be fitted for, and wear protective gear.

Successfully execute sales and marketing strategies.

Complete daily account visit reports, monthly expense reports and other surveys and reports as required.

Nature’s Grace and Wellness, a medical cannabis cultivator, processor and manufacturer in Illinois is looking to expand its grow team. The applicant will be responsible for mixing nutrients, watering plants, pruning, cleaning, following directions of our head grower, etc. This position is full time and will require working weekends and holidays. Growing healthy medical cannabis plants is a very rewarding job. However, it is not an easy task. Employees are working on concrete floors each and every day, moving around under hot lights, lifting heavy items, bending down to check plants, etc. If you don’t really want to work or you are looking for “just a job” this probably isn’t the position for you. However, if you are hardworking, work well with others, have a passion for plants and a love for helping people then this could be the job for you.
