OK Processing is looking for a motivated food/beverage/hemp/cannabis lab technician to join our production and R&D team in our growing hemp and cannabis edible division. Initially, the lab technician will start under the supervision of our lab manager, with the goal for the technician to grow into the lab manager position will start part-time with opportunities for full-time employment helping ongoing projects in product development, quality systems, process optimization, production, and various other research products. NTS is looking for a highly motivated individual that would be capable of managing a lab, full time, in the near future.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Manage and operate a variety of processing equipment and canning line.
- Execute laboratory experiments and develop formulations (e.g. laboratory or process experiments) in order to develop new products, and evaluate ingredients, materials, products, and processes.
- Write, update, and maintain SOPs for production operations.
- Understanding of food labeling requirements to develop nutrition labels, ingredients statements, safety data sheets, and more.
- Record and document production data including inventory management, finished goods, and scrap rates. Assist in material forecasting and ordering based on inventories.
- Expand services offered and work with product processing facilities to collect useable, actionable data to drive product and processing improvement for clients.
- Proactively investigate and promote the latest food science research and support efforts to drive the implementation of new methods and technologies.
- Support development of complete product formulations that meet the technical requirements of customers.
- Effectively duplicate products in the marketplace by employing basic food science techniques.
- Provide technical support from bench-top to commercial processing of cosmetic, hemp, and cannabis-infused food products
- Work with client quality assurance teams to maintain food production standards.
- Write project summary reports, tabulate and manage data, and conduct basic statistical analysis
- Other duties, as assigned
The Ideal Candidate will have:

Education / Experience
- B.S. in food science, engineering, supply chain, or related field.
- 1+ years of manufacturing or lab experience, food/beverage experience preferred
Job Type: Part-time to start, full-time in the near future.
Pay: $18-25 / hour.
