Training Schedule
Must be available to train Mon.-Sun., 35-40 hrs./week for 3-4 weeks prior to starting your permanent part-time schedule. Training schedule can be adjusted according to special circumstances. Training schedule will be determined upon hiring. Please do not inquire about either position if you cannot work the training days and times above
Position: Product Specialist (PS)
Product Specialists play a central role in creating a positive experience for all of MWC’s members. The primary role of the PS is to teach members about cannabis: various ways cannabis is grown, how concentrates are made, primary cannabinoids, the endocannabinoid system, methods of ingestion, classifications, possible contraindications, and much more. Essentially, the PS should be able to guide members toward picking products that will best alleviate their symptoms. Additionally, the PS should BE well versed in state versus federal laws.
Unique Requirements
The Product Specialist must be able to do the following:
- Eloquently articulate, teach, and instruct
- Confidently interact with customers of varying age, economic status, racial, ethnic, and religious background, sexual preference, and gender identification
- Stand for up to 8.5 hours at a time
- Learn quickly and perform spontaneously
- Adjust quickly to procedures that are in constant development
- Pay attention to intricate details while multi-tasking
- Practice patience in high stress situations
Additional Requirements Include:
- Must be over the age of 21 (legal requirement)
- Cannot have a non-cannabis related felony on their record; must be able to pass a criminal background check (legal requirement)
- At least 2 years of customer service or retail/sales experience
- Positive attitude and personality
- Has knowledge of basic math calculations including weights and measures
- Knowledge of cash registers and point of sale systems
- Knowledge of basic computer functions
- No known cannabis allergies
Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
- Teach members the benefits, possible contraindications, and side effects (positive and negative) of cannabis
- Teach members how to use paraphernalia (ie: proper use of a vaporizer, how to dab safely and effectively, how to roll a joint, etc.)
- Keep abreast of an ever-changing local and federal political climate
- Dispense cannabis products efficiently and accurately
- Manage, track, and record inventory
- Manage a cash drawer
Education
- High School Diploma/GED is required
- Bachelor’s Degree (completed or in progress) is ideal
Compensation/Benefits for Part-time
- $16/hr. base pay
- $18/hr. when individual month-end sales goals are met

Metropolitan Wellness Center (MWC) provides high quality medical cannabis and paraphernalia to registered qualified patients and caregivers living in Washington D.C., Maryland, and other qualifying states.
Essential Functions
As a Front Desk Administrator/Member Specialist, you will play a central role in creating a positive experience for all patients and caregivers that engage with MWC. MWC seeks individuals who can provide consistently professional service to customers while demonstrating the utmost respect for privacy, safety, professionalism, and excellence. Candidates will be required to know laws that regulate who can enter the dispensary and purchase products, as well as the processes and procedures one must follow to obtain a D.C. or Maryland medical card. You will also be required to obtain knowledge of cannabis and its medicinal applications. MWC will also provide training to applicants that are considered for the position.
Background and Qualifications:
The perfect candidate is someone who:
- Understands the importance of being the first person that a customer and/or future customer will interact with either in person or over the phone.
- Has the ability to clearly articulate enrollment procedures to potential applicants.
- Has excellent oral and written communication skills
- Is motivated and committed to delivering the highest standards of service to members
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Welcoming and connecting with each customer that walks through the door
- Providing education and guidance for selecting medicines or other items, displaying a “patients come first” attitude
- Has a competent, professional, and friendly phone presence
- Providing information about laws and current events related to medical cannabis
- Describing and explaining use, operation and care of merchandise or medicine to members and caregivers
- Continually developing knowledge of medical cannabis and customers’ needs

Inventory Technician Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Weigh out bulk inventory prior to packaging
- Report any discrepancies between physical weights and weights recorded in POS system
- Package bulk flower in correct increments
- Record weights and units correctly
- Convert product from bulk to pre-packaged units in point of sale system
- Generate and print product labels
- Properly apply correct product labels, barcodes, and price labels to correct products
- Manually roll pre-rolls and manually label product packages
- Update inventory additions, subtractions, adjustments, and conversions in POS system
- Confirm delivered packages product counts and weights
- Report discrepancies to inventory manager
- Record inventory discrepancies as directed
- Unload and update merchandise in web portals and online menus
- Stock merchandise neatly, and according to policy
- Give invoices and manifests to reception/admin to scan and save
- Properly stock sales floor
- Count and record inventory manually

Position: Marketing and Sales Manager
The Marketing Manager is responsible for overseeing all marketing, social media, recruitment, retention, customer relations, web-site management, and event development and management efforts of the Company. The Marketing Manager is the “voice” of the company and is chiefly responsible for assuring that the company remains the primary choice of existing customers and is the preferred choice of potential new customers. *Responsibilities:**Data Analytics & Efficiency
- Work with Company’s marketing relationships and resources to increase customer awareness, to promote greater customer affinity, and encourage customer retention
- Work with management to develop product and service promotional strategies that increase sales and build company performance
- Conduct data-driven analysis to continuously understand purchasing patterns and trends, peak and off-peak demand periods, anomalies, group and individual purchasing habits, and other information needed achieve goals
- Group customers into select categories for tracking and relationship and affinity development purposes
- Design, implement, and execute events, initiatives, and promotions to increase awareness, engage customers, increase customer base, and increase top-line performance.
- Design data-based metrics for measuring success of promotions, of events, and of other corporate initiatives designed to achieve the goals of the Marketing Manager
- Monitor and identify customer needs, staying current on medical and recreational industry standards/trends
- Suggest changes to inventory selection where appropriate to achieve the company performance goals
- Produce effective sales tools and displays that maximize sales in ways aligned with MWC’s brand; implement and train the staff on company visual merchandising standards
- Manage public relation tactics, social media strategies and other marketing-related endeavors
- Conduct market research using questionnaires, surveys, face-to-face interviews/interactions, and other tools to keep management informed on the company’s brand and perception by customers
- Support sales forecasting to estimated future performance efforts
- Respond to customer service complaints made via social media
- Assure that the Company adherer’s to all regulations and requirements regarding its marketing, promotions, and events
- Make MWC the most preferred and most utilized dispensary in Washington DC.
Administrative/Miscellaneous
- Design/implement needed systems to track and accomplish Company marketing goals
- Track and record performance of all initiatives
- Utilize the company’s POS system, customer rewards system, and other software as required to accomplish goals
- Regularly report performance
