Position Summary:
The Graphic Designer will take an active role in design projects of all sizes, seamlessly bringing innovation and collaboration to every new engagement. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, a self-starter, and wants to make a big impact into a fast-growing category.
Our candidate will specialize in creating outstanding advertising collaterals, including but limited to brand and point-of-sale materials, social media posts, website materials, email campaigns, packaging, apparel, vehicle wraps, and much more. The Graphic Designer is responsible for execution of comprehensive brand design and graphic design projects. Successful candidates will demonstrate a superior ability to drive design thinking from ideation through concept development, refinement, and execution. She/he will collaborate closely with the Creative Director, and the Marketing and Sales teams to help ensure design projects follow the brands standards. The candidate must have strong layout skills, attention to detail, and outstanding organizational skills.
This is a fast-paced role, designed for an individual who can masterfully wear a lot of hats, is a natural team player, and takes pride in constantly learning. To be considered for this position, you must have previously worked as a branding/graphic designer in a branding studio or in-house creative department. Your portfolio should showcase full branding systems, logo design, identity explorations, packaging, and market/in-store activation pieces.
Essential Functions:

- Lead design ideas and brand builds from strategy creation through final implementation
- Ensure creative consistency across all consumer touchpoints while executing against the brand strategy
- Partner with the marketing team to come up with innovative design ideas for our portfolio of brands
- High volume of concepting and designing for packaging in the food and beverage space
- Design for all brand channels including packaging, events, retail, print advertising, sales materials, and web/digital media
- Develop brand standards that will ensure consistency of use
- Prepare files for print and ensure the quality of printed materials
- Liaise with project managers to ensure brief objectives and deadlines are being met
- Collaborate with designers and account managers to solve creative challenges and take direction when needed; actively participate in cross-functional marketing meetings
- Other duties and projects as assigned
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of design experience working on CPG brands (ideally) in heavily regulated areas of the food and beverage category
- BFA in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or an equivalent degree
- Previous work experience in a high growth, startup type environment is a plus
- Highly skilled in Adobe CC (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- A keen eye for trends and typography
- Experience working collaboratively to achieve key outcomes
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exceptional attention to detail - accuracy a must
- Solid print production knowledge, ability to prepare files for print onto various substrates
- Ability to multi-task and handle several competing initiatives simultaneously and meet deadlines with a sense of urgency
- Hunger to learn and ability to flourish in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment
- Passion for the cannabis industry
- Excellent communication skills, ability to collaborate and prioritize
- Designing for digital media a plus
- A multi-tasker who is able to prioritize and manage work, adhering to critical project timelines in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
- A strong communicator, both written and verbal, skilled in presenting to internal team(s) and receiving feedback
- A genuine, positive, and uplifting attitude that inspires coworkers and clients
- A self-starter who is internally driven to make things better, exceed expectations, and actively collaborate with others
- A critical thinker and creative problem solver who efficiently troubleshoots problems without compromising design standards
- Takes an active interest in researching design trends and best practices for both print and digital work
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
Remote – work from home position. The ideal candidate will reside in Southern California.
Physical Demands:

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time, exempt position. Exempt employees are expected to adhere to the standard hours and regular workweek of the department; however, exempt employees are also required to work any hours necessary to perform the duties of the job.
