- Microbiological analysis of a variety of sample matrices utilizing real-time PCR, ELISA and other immunoassays, as well as plating with traditional media. Major analytes will include E. coli (STEC), salmonella, mycotoxins and aspergillus, as required by the Arizona Department of Health Services.
- Data process analysis as well as secondary data review
- Method development and validation as required
- Statistical analysis as required
- Reviews and/or takes corrective action when needed in response to technical and operational issues in relation to analytics and instrumentation
- Assistance with sample prep, extract solution maintenance and weighing when required
- Ensuring samples are processed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Performing extractions and preparing analytical batches for analysis as needed
- Keeping detailed notes and records on sample information, special projects, instruments, and reagents.
- Helping maintain a clean, safe, and organized workplace.
After passing a 90-day probation period and required training programs, microbiologists will be eligible for greater responsibilities and advancement to Microbiologist II positions, as well as management. Responsibilities for this position will include greeting, welcoming and assisting customers dropping off samples for safety testing; answering or referring phone inquiries; support continuity with the science team and overall contribution to the team effort. We are open 9-5, M-F. Some driving to pick up samples may eventually be included.
Qualifications include excellent verbal and written communication skills, an eager attitude, the ability to be resourceful, and, a willingness to learn the cannabis industry.

We are looking for a motivated Chemist I to join our team.
Daily Responsibilities will include:
- Chemical analysis of a variety of sample matrices utilizing liquid and gas chromatography (LC-MS, GC-MS, HPLC) as well as inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) with a focus on specific instrument specialization. Major analytes will include cannabinoids, terpenes/terpenoids, pesticides, heavy metals, and residual solvents as required by the Arizona Department of Health Services.
- Data process analysis as well as secondary data review
- Statistical analysis as required
- Reviews and/or takes corrective action when needed in response to technical and operational issues in relation to analytics and instrumentation
- Assistance with method development, as well as some method validation
- Assistance with sample prep, extract solution maintenance and weighing when required
- Ensuring samples are processed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Performing extractions and preparing analytical batches for analysis as needed
- Keeping detailed notes and records on sample information, special projects, instruments, and reagents.
- Helping maintain a clean, safe, and organized workplace.
After passing a 90-day probation period and required training programs, Chemists will be eligible for greater responsibilities and advancement to Chemist I and Chemist II positions. At our company we prefer to hire internally and support the growth of our employees through continuous training on testing methods and side projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field: Chemistry or Biochemistry
- Experience utilizing mass spectronomy, preferred LC-MS and/or ICP-MS
- Experience working in an analytical or research lab
- Is 21 years of age
