Full Job Description
Cannabis producer located near Rogue River is looking to fill Operations Manager position. We are a family owned Recreational Producer with 2 Tier II Outdoor Licenses. We grow using strictly organic methods & have living soil beds we've been building for 3 years.
We are looking for a professional that has the experience of running a large recreational farm. We recently expanded by adding a 2nd Tier II Outdoor license. We've been in the Recreational Market for 4 years & before that Medically for 10 years. We have a strong brand & are looking for someone with Master Grower experience that also has a high level of organizational & management skills. Must be able to run a team effectively & efficiently, hit timelines & quality. Pheno-hunts & genetics must be a passion!
The Operations Manager will be responsible for the direction and oversight of the cultivation teams, each operating in different types of facilities and utilizing varying grow methodologies. Cultivation project-types include greenhouse light-dep & full term outdoor.
Duties and responsibilities
- Responsible for managing multiple cannabis cultivation facilities, ranging from 10k SF to 300k SF- She/he will oversee all propagation, plant maintenance, plant nutrition, pest management, harvest/dry/cure and inventory-tracking- Meeting required timelines of cultivation and harvest- Design nutrient recipes and schedules, using organic methodology- Oversee the design, installation and operation of advanced automation/environmental control systems.- Manage, supervise and direct the activities of all cultivation staff, and make decisions regarding hiring, discipline, termination or advancement- Collect and review data to optimize yields for each strain/harvest and work with senior management to make improvementsIdentify and implement ways to decrease capital and operating expenses through design, process, and equipment- Update and implement all Cultivation SOPs and related associated documents- Navigate regulatory and compliance considerations, and develop and implement processes and standards based on regulations, which vary in each location
Required Qualifications:
- Managed 40,000+ SF cannabis cultivation facility- 6 years + of industry experienced- Expert level knowledge of all growing mediums, nutrient regimens, cultivation methodologies, environmental requirements and cultivation techniques.- 4-year degree from an accredited university/Unless approved otherwise from management- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.- Collaborative nature and ability to work well with others.- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.- Ability to get things done and make decisions in an autonomous work environment without extensive oversight- Clean criminal record

This position works on a small crew of farm laborers performing a variety of organic farming related tasks as directed by the crew leader, including but not limited to; seeding and propagation, planting, weeding, watering, pest management and harvesting a wide variety of medicinal herbs and plants, thereby contributing to the successful growth of the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Assists with optimal farm production, by actively working in each area as directed, i.e. preparing soils and seed flats, applying fertilizers, transplanting, irrigating, weeding and harvesting crops as directed. Recognizes apparent crop disease or pest problems and brings to attention of crew leader.
2. Assists with optimal harvest yields, by following harvesting and processing instructions; including but not limited to, picking, separating, cleaning, drying, and evaluation of crop quality of each herb according to established procedures. Works with other crew members to ensure proper post-harvest handling and timely delivery of all harvested crops.
3. Works under the direction of the irrigation manager to assure adequate irrigation of all crops. Works with other members of the farm crew to install new drip and sprinkler systems, and adjusts system(s) seasonally, as needed.
4. Ensures safe and efficient use of hand tools and small power tools, by reading and following operating instructions at all times, asks questions of crew leader when in doubt on proper use of any tool. Maintains and stores tools as directed, to ensure safety and to extend the useful life of all tools.
5. Ensures safe-working conditions, by following established safety procedures at all times, participating in all required safety training, and remaining aware of safety concerns. Serves as a good role model for co-workers and student interns by practicing safe work habits and supporting all safety guidelines.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists with a variety of other tasks, including running errands and making deliveries, as directed.Willingly provides back up for other members of the farm crew, including the landscaping crew, as directed.QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma required; plus one to three years of related hands-on experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with the cultivation of medicinal herbs helpful. One to three years farm experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Bi-lingual preferred. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
Ability to relate cooperatively with small groups of co-workers performing similar jobs. Ability to organize and communicate thoughts, and to understand non-threatening communications from others. Courteous in handling telephone calls and/or in greeting or directing visitors.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Current valid Driver's License. Ability to travel occasionally.
