We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic HR Coordinator to be responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level.
We are hiring a part-time HR Coordinator to work 25 hours per week. This entry-level position will report to the Human Resources Manager and/or Director. This position carries out administrative responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, workers compensation, onboarding, HRIS, training, recruitment, safety, and other duties as needed. The primary worksite is in Salinas, CA, but this position will require occasional travel to other worksites.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for all onboarding efforts to include offer letters, I-9 verification, employee ID badges, background check, and scheduling Live Scans.
- Responsible for maintaining and posting jobs using our ATS.
- Responsible for the coordination of final checks, Position Change letters, EIN transfers, and other administrative duties.
- Maintain human resource information system records Wurk HR/ Payroll database.
- Assist the HR team with the administration of leave of absence requests.
- Assist the HR team with the administration of workers' compensation claims.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Requirements and Skills
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
- 1-2 years of HR Coordinator experience preferred.
- Must be bilingual in English/Spanish - written and verbal.
- Software Skills: Must be proficient in Google Suite and have outstanding knowledge of Microsoft Office, prior HRIS systems (e.g. Wurk) experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision required.
- Ability to remain calm while working under pressure in a busy environment.
- Ability to work within timeframe of standard policies and procedures.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality related to sensitive company and employee information.
- General familiarity with HR principles and federal/local regulations.
- Excellent ability to multi-task and prioritize in a busy, fast-growth environment

Required Duties:
- Produce well-researched, on-brand, compelling, grammatically correct, and engaging content for publication online and in print.
- Manage company’s social media accounts in line with company vision and branding, to attract and retain a loyal customer base while increasing brand awareness.
- Edit and polish existing website content to improve readability and drive customer traffic.
- Monitor and report effectiveness of online marketing communications.
- Organize, plan, schedule, and promote company marketing events.
- Document and analyze customer traffic and sales from marketing events.
- Collaborate with vendors and business partners to achieve the various objectives of the marketing team.
- Use search engine optimization (SEO) strategies in writing to maximize the online visibility of a website in search results.
- Identify customers’ needs and recommend new content to address gaps in the company's current content.
- Take visually appealing product photos for websites that highlight product quality and entice customers to buy.
- Maintain effective internal communications to ensure all relevant teams are informed of marketing objectives.
- Miscellaneous administrative duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
- 2 years of experience in a similar role
- Experience with successfully handling multiple projects with varied timelines

- Proficient in Google Analytics
- Previous experience managing company social media accounts

Responsibilities
- Assist in month end close activities including the preparation of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintain and update accounting records and files across several companies with high business volume
- Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger (e.g. by assets, liabilities and expenses)
- Reconcile bank statements
Requirements and Skills:
- Similar experience as an Accounting Associate or relevant role in accounting
- Excellent use of Microsoft Office Word and Excel; very good with spreadsheets
- Proficiency in QuickBooks
- Good math skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Confidentiality and integrity
- Degree in Accounting desirable (Associate or Bachelors)

Roles and Responsibilities

- Manage payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
- Update payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers.
- Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
- Determine payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Provide payroll information by answering questions and requests.
- Follow policies and procedures and report needed changes.
- Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Carry out administrative tasks such as filing, copying, scanning, etc.
- Support the finance team as needed.
