The Product Specialist Technician (PST) serves as an important liaison between patients and KCR staff. The PST will assist KCR’s Professional Staff in facilitating patient enrollment in the Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana program. The Product Specialist Technician will have knowledge of the overall dispensary inventory and help assist KCR’s Professional Staff in selecting appropriate products and ancillary equipment for patients based on their individual needs and disease states. These essential individuals will also help the dispensary team establish and maintain the highest level of security and compliance, assuring appropriate movement and reconciliation of products and currency in accordance with Department of Health regulations. This role will assist the dispensary team with any and all additional tasks as deemed appropriate and within practical scope.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Works with dispensary team members to provide the best possible patient care and patient experience
- Schedules appointments, assists with refilling orders and creating new patient orders
- Answers questions and educates patients/caregivers and healthcare professionals about Medical Marijuana (MMJ)
- Assists patients/caregivers and KCR’s Professional staff in identifying the appropriate MMJ product and methods of consumption that best fits their individual needs
- Completes sale transactions in a timely and accurate manner and in compliance with Department of Health (DOH) rules and regulations and KCR practices and procedures
- Ensures the safe and accurate dispensing of medications and medical devices to patients
- Assists in opening/closing procedures, maintaining and accounting of all dispensary inventory
- Assists in recordkeeping and reporting necessary for Pennsylvania state compliance
- Interacts with staff on site and other KCR locations over the phone, collecting feedback on the products and services provided
- Participates in efforts to reform and improve procedures and workflows where appropriate
- Assists in the training of new and current staff members as required
- Consistently maintains a clean and neat dispensary in the front and back of house
- Attends staff meetings and continuing education courses
- Participates in outreach programs developed by KCR and industry partners as appropriate to help educate patients, caregivers, health care practitioners, community members, and interest groups on the current evidence and guidelines for safe and effective utilization of medical marijuana
- Practices all activities associated with education, dispensing and research of medical marijuana to the highest possible standards, and in accordance with rules and regulations established by the Pennsylvania Department of Health
- Remains current on all company programs, marketing campaigns, and promotional specials
- Performs other related duties as assigned or as necessary and remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by departmental and organizational needs
- Represents KCR in a manner that conveys professionalism, confidentiality, courtesy, fairness, personal integrity, and respect for others.
- Works directly with direct manager to forward the needs of the business and bring up concerns as they occur.
- Escalates patient/caregiver concerns, complaints, or suggestions in a timely manner and provide service recovery as needed
- Ensures inventory needs are met and assists in the inventory count as needed
- Able to work a variety of shifts, this includes day, swing, late and night, weekend and holiday shifts as scheduled
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of all strains and products in store inventory as well as industry product trends
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelors preferred
- Prior retail experience preferred, medical marijuana experience preferred
- CPR/BLS training preferred
Skills & Abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite
- Outgoing, compassionate and friendly personality
- Strong communication skills and ability to multitask
- Must complete PA DOH required training course with passing grade within 30 days of hire
